Spring Savanna
This is a fan game we've been working on for a few months now, I figured it was time I'd cue this website in on it in honor of the 17th anniversary of Spyro 2 being released in NA.
This fan game is only going to be one world with 6 or so levels in it. Like the name suggests it'll act as a 4th homeworld for Avalar.
Here's a video of our current progress:

It's still got a lot of work to go through before it's anywhere near complete.
You can read more about the inception of this project here:

Re: Spring Savanna
It looks pretty promising so far. Of course there is a long road ahead since this is still very early in development I imagine. Liking the classic look.

Re: Spring Savanna
looks awesome so far!! wait, you actually made that Spyro? nice!
i saw in your Reddit post that you wanted some help, here are a few people who make Spyro music:

https://www.spyroforum.com/viewtopic.php?id=15226 (note, it seems like this guy might be taking a break from Spyro music, might want to ask him)
this guy designs levels: http://www.spyroforum.com/viewtopic.php?id=15007
i also know "Sheep" on here has designed a couple levels, too - http://rubberrabbit2.deviantart.com/art … -641792105
as for programming... i'm not sure i know there are a few programmers on here but i don't know if they know C# or have ever used Unity3D

Thanks, and yea it's got a decent amount of work ahead, but it's getting there.

Yea! I made that model!
Thanks for the list of people! I actually already got a few people to help me out and Sheep is one of them! I'm pretty much covered in everything but music at the moment, but not too worried about music at this stage of the development

I can help with that, though idk if I may get you confused if I try to explain but I will do my best if you are willing to learn. To be honest, I only learned from videos and documentation reading so you would probably in my boat if you are doing just the same. Any way we can contact live? Skype o.o?
Tell you now, I may not always be available due to college stuff but I can try to multitask and talk to you about the C# and Unity, you may need to tell me ahead of time.
Which is also the reason my project isn't progressing atm D:.

Hey! I've seen your unity spyro project and it's very well done! I could definitely use your expertise and know-how to help push development for our fan game! We can use skype, I believe my username on skype is monacledpotato. Although I might be wrong there, as I don't use skype very much. If you tell me your skype username I can add you!

Well mines is exactly my username here. If you don't use skype much, then what else you can use just in case? Discord is another one I have.

Re: Spring Savanna
Wow.
From looking over your post and videos I assume you've modelled and animated the character models? Amazing work; really holds true to the original!
In case you're still looking for C# developers and / or help with it I would be happy to help out. Since you mentioned previously working with DBPro I can say that I'm quite invested in that community as well - always fun to find fellow people who got started out that way elsewhere on the web
As for merits, I've been a hobbyist game developer for about 11 years, though I've come to work more with the underlying engines rather than games themselves over the last few years. I am currently working full time as a C# developer with, among other things, writing utility SDK's for use with the Unity Engine, so I guess I have some familiarity with that as well. Apart from that I also enjoy writing music, however I have to admit to never doing anything particularly Spyro-esque on that front (the closest would be some reggae tune that could more be likened to the Monkey Island soundtrack though) - might be fun to give it a try nonetheless though
So feel free to contact me if you're interested. Beware that my free time unfortunately is limited though, but this I feel is something I would like to be a part of if possible.
Again, props on your nice work so far!

Re: Spring Savanna
Hey! Thanks! Yes I did create the models and the animations!
I currently have 2 programmers on the team, but they both are usually also pretty busy, so I could probably use another programmer to help keep things moving. Very impressive track record! You're probably the first person I've met in a while that actually knows what DBPro is haha. I'm currently not too fussed about the music, I'll worry about the music for each level, when I've actually finished making the level (and it's been finalized and everything) but good to know you have experience in writing music!
I'll send you a private message to get you on the team!

Hadn't checked through this section much so I didn't know this project had a thread, but I'm glad I noticed it from the forum index! Glad to see someone else with an active project on the forum!

I've got some very exciting news! I think but I'm not sure, I just think that I can do the professor's voice! I'll try to work it out a little bit and I will inform you for sure when I'm ready!

New Spring Savanna video; you can now audition for certain voice roles in the game! Plus some more Celestial Woods stuff.

Re: Spring Savanna
I'm just rambling on here, but wouldn't it be better if all the beautiful people making Spyro fan games would team up and make one game together? Wouldn't that be better for exposure of the brand & yourself?
I'm happy to see so many projects, but it's so many projects..

While nice in theory, it'd be impossible to unify all the teams together for a singular project. Very very different ambitions, concepts, ideas, directions, visions etc. at play here, and a lot of content already created would have to be discarded across all the teams, and the new team would likely not be able to reach a consensus on how to proceed afterward given the different aims of the team members carrying over from all the previous projects.
