In terms of anime dub

The thing i don't think is so good is that... It tries too much to emulate japanese voice actors. Like in getting the exact same experience. Now i know the job of a dub is to translate a show into english and get the experience that the original show intents. But there are limits to how far one goes. Lets say. If there is a like a girl age 15, the english in my opinion should sound like that age. But in most cases they sounds like they are 9 years old or something in terms of voice being too bright. Which is to try and emulate too much voice pitch which i would rather not prefer in terms of realism.

Just to put an example in Spyro 2. One wouldn't try to emulate this into english ^^

Re: In terms of anime dub

Yeah, I pretty much agree with you here. In shows where I've watched both the sub and dub, the dubs almost always come off as... trying too hard, I guess? Especially the female characters for some reason. A lot of them sound so screechy and annoying that I can't stand them, but when I switch to subs, I think, "huh, this character isn't so bad."

Re: In terms of anime dub

I tried watching Girls Und Panzer. I never finished it because the voices were too high pitch/squeaky.

I deal with enough squeaky voices over GMod.
