mixed game
Does anybody think the future of spyro the dragon might include many elements from Dawn of the Dragon like levels and enemies and include non-linear levels like past spyro games?

Re: mixed game
Sure!! i was thinking about that, too...
I wish they could make something like some kind of mega villan reunion. Extra abilities, other playable characters, ability to fly, many worlds, including avalar, dragon healms and others. The portals would be cool, but not always... the storyline could be something between epic and classic style. They could make a 2 discs game, something u cant finish in less than 1 week.
I think this is the way.. they just need to find a balance

Re: mixed game
Well...I have been saying that if they want to find some success in future games they need to find a very nice balance point that comes from both series...a more expansive and interactive world would be a good thing. The plot and characters are solid...but things just need to be more open and free. If they included some of these past elements they could really bring things together for all Spyro fans as a whole....I'm sick of seeing the fanbase so divided.

Re: mixed game
Having the levels more open-ended is always good.
Dawn of the Dragon got that right. What it didn't was the flying (UGH! Limit that thing! B-R-O-K-E-N!) and the level design (MUCH weaker than TEN's, which had some fantastic platforming sequences).
Another thing it didn't got right was that it lacked objectives. Sure, you had the gems but I'm talking about proper objectives. Namely, you had only one objective per stage. It would have been nice to have more objectives and stuff to do, making the exploration more relevent.
In my opinion, there are two paths they could take to make it more interesting.
Either do it like in Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie, and other 3D platformers and make it so that you have multiple objectives to complete per stage. The only ones really required are the ones relevent to reaching the exit but completing the extra ones are required to reaching later, hidden stages and maybe even getting to the game's proper conclusion (PLEASE give us better extras than lame art galleries! Extra difficulty modes, new last bosses & endings, extra stages).
The other path is making the stages non-linear ; there are several exits and paths. Picked path & exit A on your first playthrough? Try the secondary exit now! Again, this could also influence the plot, allow for multiple endings, and boost replay value greatly.
That's my opinion on the issue, mostly.

Re: mixed game
Plenty of good ideas floating around out there as I have said....finding a proper balance to please all of the gamers will be extremely hard...especailly with a character like Spyro...but I think the developers will try a little harder this time around. With DotD rather pleasing sales...I'm sure it might a little bit of fire underneath them.

Re: mixed game
Haha...I remember in the game Drakengard...the last ending you would get teloported to the modern world and get shot down by a jet fighter lol....that was random.

Got that ending a while ago...rather disappointing considering the ridiculous boss you have to fight to see it.
Multiple endings...idk, I'm not a big fan of them but I always seem to get the bad ones.
Oh great, my lighthouse is on fire again, be right back...

Re: mixed game
Yeah that part of it made me mad...that game was pretty hard with some of those screwed up bosses....but I don't mind multiple endings...so long as they are pretty interesting and relavent...not something totally random like that was.

Re: mixed game
Well...it will be a little different for everyone. I like things canon as well....but the idea of multiple endings still intrigues me....but I highly doubt that anything like that will be included in the future.

Re: mixed game
Spyro is aimed at kids, and kids dont normally understand multiple endings, they just think thats the right one and get mad if its not something they wanted.

Re: mixed game
Yeah that's true. More reason why they will not include them in the future games.

Re: mixed game
How about a Silent hill dog ending.
ill explain about that since silent hill is a game with zombies and ghosts ect and its scary the main charater walks into a room and finds a dog playing with high tech stuff.
HE player then falls to the ground ans says "it was you all along"
Then the dog walks up and licks the player and the credits roll with a dog barking song.
in the credits you see the main character working out and a sexy women for no reason

Re: mixed game
An RTS Spyro game?....huh...I wonder how that would work. Hmmm...I just don't see how you can make Spyro into something that involves Command and Conquer type gaming....or anything of that sort 0.o.

ah, no, just stick to platformer, or do some sort of fun spinoff game.

Re: mixed game
Yeah...but it's funny to picture how that would work out....don't think it's very possible.
