Re: Anyone have Competitive Pokémon Battling knowledge?

I don't know what a sub-sweeper is. Care to tell? I might be able to help.
I'm not really all that competitive as I have never been in any tournaments or attempted to be in any however no one has been able to beat me to date short of getting crits on all my pokemon.  <_<
Man that was lame.
Wait there was that one person at Toy's R Us... Jen I think it was. Sheesh that was murder.

Naturally depends on which pokemon is the sub-sweeper, of course.

Re: Anyone have Competitive Pokémon Battling knowledge?

Okay so what I got from bulbapedia is that you should counter a sweeper with a tank. I'm sure I don't need to explain what a tank is to you. However I still don't know what a Sub - sweeper is so I don't know if that helps or not.

Re: Anyone have Competitive Pokémon Battling knowledge?

I counter physical sweepers with a combination of Double Team, Iron Defense, and Toxic.

Of course, this doesn't work with the steel type, which is why I teach all my tanks Brick Break...

Re: Anyone have Competitive Pokémon Battling knowledge?

All 7 of my Lv 100 Blazikens know Brick Break. It was the best fighting move as far as accuracy and damage goes until aura sphere. Unfortuantely for all torchic breeders like myself Blaziken can't learn it.  sad

Anyway. One of my teams is by the bulbapedia definition a sweeper team and I've found that one thing that really trippes it up are teams that can swap pokemon and afford to take the damage.
Like in the one instance my opponent had a Miltank so logically I figred the best thing to use on it would be Brick Break. Then she swapped Miltank for Flygon which was barely effected and at the same time fast enough to come back with an earthquake to KO Blaziken since since my second attack wasn't strong enough to KO it.
Curse Blaziken's weak defense... *angry muttering*  <_<

Anyway I hope that helps.  smile

[sub]Anyone care to explain what a "sub-sweeper" is? So far the only one of those special terms for movesets I can understand is Thunderdancer. >_>

The problem with Tanks against Sub-Sweepers is that they can't Toxic them.

The Sub-Sweepers I have problems are... the TimidJolt and the McIceGar, also the TyraniBoa.

OK, I've taken care of the Sub-Sweepers, now I'm having trouble with SpeedPassed-Mence! -_- You know, the typical HPFlying-Earthquake-Aerial Ace-Rock Slide Salamence that's been Speed passed or worse, DD-Passed. -_-

I DO use a Milotic. Toxic-Surf-Refresh-Recover. Problem is, *bleep* TimidJolts just OHKO me -_-

And someone PLEASE answer why the hell there are haxers living again??? Double Team Passing, argh. My Dragonite is rusting out here waiting for Haze but... it just doesn't work, I'm about to switch that thing off.

Not even my Gengar is beating out the Buffed Mence.

Also a counter to the Taunt-DD Gyarados, too, please... T_T

Oh, and one last question. Is Linoone OU, UU, or NU?

Oh, BlueFla~ I mean Stormy. There's reason why a lot of people asked you if the Crobat was EVed. Because Crobats are INSANELY STRONG. Insanely high Speed and Attack, even beating out a Jolteon... 3 1/4 resistances... a Poison type with immunity to Ground...! There isn't a better Poison type out there! Well, Gengar maybe, but Gengar can't sweep as fierce as Crobat!

Re: Anyone have Competitive Pokémon Battling knowledge?

My Machamp is a sub-sweeper with Substitute and Focus Punch. The thing that really gets on my nerves are moves that can knock out the substitute in one hit. If you keep on hitting the sub-sweeper with really powerful super-effective moves, then you should either discourage your opponent from subbing or be able to lower their HP to the point where they can't substitute. What sub-sweepers do you have problems against?

[sub]You'll have to forgive my ignorance as I've only started playing Pokemon a few months ago, but what's a Sweeper? And TyraniBoa?

And about the Crobat:

Neoseeker's 18 million[sup:402c5df35d]th[/sup:402c5df35d] post

It's a running joke on Loungin' to quote that, since it was "such a funny 18 million[sup:402c5df35d]th[/sup:402c5df35d] post". I don't even have a Crobat. Never got around to evolving one. -__-[/sub]

Re: Anyone have Competitive Pokémon Battling knowledge?

I'd recommend a Rhyperior against a physical sub-sweeper. It has high attack and defense. Of course, it doesn't stand a chance against the fighting type. It also works good for electric sub-sweepers.

Re: Anyone have Competitive Pokémon Battling knowledge?

OK, I've actually resolved a lot without using Rhyperiors.

MY ONLY PROBLEM NOW IS CONCERNING TAUNT-TYPE GYARADOS'. >_<High>_<

But putting in an Electric move means the removal of one of my Special Sweepers, and I'm sick and tired of having to replace them again and again!

...or maybe I should consider to remove my Garchomp.

EDIT: It just occured to me that the name of my Vaporeon is user #10's name. FTW?

Just counter it with another Taunt-using Gyarados that knows Thunderbolt.

So, Zekira, do you have Diamond/Pearl? You're talking about Rhyperior.... 'cause I've kind of been wanted to play you....

Edit: Further coincidence: Vaporeon is user #10's favorite Pokemon. X3[/sub]

Re: Anyone have Competitive Pokémon Battling knowledge?

I don't have D/P. I just go on Shoddy for a while and learn there. My friend has Diamond and I learn from there also. (even completely forgetting that Dragon Claw was a Physical Move. *bleep* 3rd gen. smile )

Why I suddenly mentioned my Vaporeon in there was because I forgot that bracket tags eats up posts, and thus in between there it mentioned something about my Stormy being Taunted excessively and thus isn't able to use Haze or Acid Armor. >_>
