Re: Challenging

Wow, that's good to hear.  big_smile  Hopefully it'll have more puzzles and less battling than the first one.

Re: Challenging

So the PS2 version is out? Amazon said it wouldn't be shipped until the 9th, Target doesn't have it, and Wal-Mart isn't listing it either. I'm confused...

Re: Challenging

Well, some areas close to where the game is being made to sent out to the public will receive it early (I think). Maybe they ordered copies and they will arrive at a later time?

Re: Challenging

I own the game, it came out oct.3 for ps2 in virginia. It has TONS of battles and they made me almost want to chuck my controler out the window.
SPOILERS! not many though just the beginning.

I havent even got inside the dragon temple yet after the attack and Cynder dumps spyro.

End spoilers.

Re: Challenging

Well i liked Spyro 3, and when i say "stupid" i mean  blandly going around pushing 3 buttons to open a door (its not really a puzzle) or shoving something somewhere (bores me to hell), we didn't see any of that in spyro 3 neither did we see much jumping (because he can glide ^^) and the jumping part is one of the reasons why i hate mario and love R&C and spyro platformers.
Crash involves alot of jumping too but the numerous colours, creatures and enemies just make it really fun, and it isn't as annoying as mario

Re: Challenging

Definition of the platformgame genre:

"Platform game, or platformer, is a video game genre characterized by jumping to and from suspended platforms or over obstacles. It must be possible to control these jumps and to fall from platforms or miss jumps. The most common unifying element to these games is a jump button; other jump mechanics include swinging from extendable arms, as in Ristar or Bionic Commando, or bouncing from springboards or trampolines, as in Alpha Waves. Games where jumping is automated completely, such as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, fall outside of the genre."

So as you can se.. jumping and platforming are two things, you cannot seperate.

Re: Challenging

So your saying Spyro 3 wasn't a platformer? well i get it when you say platform-er but really Spyro 3 didn't evolve much jumping. THeres really no where else you can put spyro 3. PS: Super Mario 64 wasn't all about jumping neither, it played a major role but wasn't all it

Re: Challenging

I think your trying to say that TLOS was a platform game because it had jumping.
well anyhow, i'd like it see different types of enemies, better puzzles, powerups, more playable characters, alot more levels but not as long (but bigger) and more variable (In ANB its practically the same things over and over again... i know a level has to stay on a spacific theme but maybe a bit more varient of that theme and twisting an turning of that theme would be nice), level where we can really glide and explore (none of this linear stuff), more creative bosses, a choice betwwen levels (none of this level after level stuff, its boring)co-op and MORE COLOURFUL...

I got a bit carried way, its good that i stopped before i got into the music and story, i hope all of these things have improved in TEN or if not TEN in the 3rd game

Re: Challenging

WAit, Wikipedia says ANB was an action, not a platformer, no wonder i hated it so much.
Owell, Action games are boring so therefore, TLOS is boring
