A game you think is good... but there is some part that ruins it???

Have there ever been something in a game that just kinda ruins it, but in general its not bad.

I was trying TRAG. I play as Alex mostly, although there might be some fun silly stuff like Michelle aerobics outfit. 90s costumes was often obscure i thought back then too tongue . And i think i saw this as a commerical as a kid or a demo but i never played it etc, but it looked sorta fun. I am playing it now, and its good.. But there is one thing that ruins it for me.

The character Rachel. Everything is pretty fun, like the weird looking terrorists tongue . I mean the game would be honestly an amusing gold, if it wasn't for this one character. A 16 year old school girl who is also a robot of a 12 year old consciousness. This honestly ruined it for me. Like this game would be perfect if it wasn't for this one annoyance. I would be ok if she died or something really early, but that doesn't happen.

Its mostly due to you being characters who are supposed to stop terrorists who have hijacked a building. And they are more or less, trained for it. But it also have fun absurd stuff which i love about it. But they just had to have anime school girl who is 16.... Just as a way to really feel uncomfortable when playing it. Its like trying to make the player feel as uncomfortable as possible tongue

Have you had similar experience where you played a fun game. And then there are some elements about it that just kills it for you? smile

Far Cry 3: Insanely fun open world exploration game, but the main character is a spoiled rich kid with no personality. Also the loot button is the same as switching out your weapons which is pretty obnoxious.

Hmm, I can think of a few.

Mass Effect 3 is a pretty obvious one with that stupid ending that everyone hated. I never actually played it, but I watched and decided I didn't want to even bother when I saw that.

The World Ends With You had an interesting concept IMO, but the final boss was impossible unless you had the exact configuration of badges that they wanted you to have, and there was no way to go back and fix it once you went in to fight him. I never liked the combat system where you were supposed to control both characters on different screens, either. I always just ignored one of them.

Rune Factory 2 would have been pretty cool when you get to play as the main character's kid, but the forging, crafting, and cooking system (usually my favorite part of those games) was too tedious to bother with, so I gave up before getting very far in the child arc.

I'm sure there are more, but I haven't played any video games except Stepmania and Crypt of the Necrodancer for months, so I can't think of any others.

I can think of only one at the moment - Duke Nukem 3D. It's very good FPS game with tons of secrets (which I like a lot), but I really don't like the overly egoistical feel it tries to make. At least you can turn mature content off, it would be unplayable otherwise ._.

The game is super fun but it's totally Pay2Win. It can also be bugged as hell.
