Yeah I can't wait to try it. Hopefully some Wii U exclusives get announced soon. Even if it Dosen't it's going to be awesome.

Oh wow, maybe this game is different, but it took me forever to unlock every character in Melee and Brawl.

Re: Super Smash Bros 3DS/Wii U

I meant I'm alternating between characters. Mario's always my main. But for the other four spots I'm going to try to alternate between characters to see who my other for main characters after my favourite plumber are. And yeah I love Duck Hunt's final smash. It's hilarious and fun.

I was watching some livestreams and stuff when the game just released, and you do unlock characters a lot faster. I remember for Mewtwo in Melee you had to play for 24 hours or something like that. It's just a set number of matches this time around, which seems better.

Re: Super Smash Bros 3DS/Wii U

I hear. Having a 1 stock match against a CPU and committing suicide 120 times gets you all the characters quick. Course you can unlock them through specific aquirements in Classic Mode.

That ends up not being worth it if you play enough, though. I heard to get Duck Hunt, you had to beat classic with 8 different characters. Somewhere around 6, I unlocked him by doing a bunch of smash matches (which is pretty much all I do.)
I would like Smash Run, and I was actually pretty excited for it, but it turns out it kinda sucks. The first five minutes of grinding around the map to get your stats up is a cool idea, but it ends up not working well because it's pretty much random which stats you get, so you can end up getting horrible stats or stats for stuff you don't want or need by the final battle. Even worse, the final battle is usually a 1 minute time smash battle. Not only do I think time is stupid, because you can pretty much just steal kills, standing a bit off to the side for the rest of the time to win, but after five minutes of building up your stats, it's likely you'll actually be fighting for one minute. Even two stock matches can even drag on for 5 or so minutes. Anything but time would've been better. Yet even worse, sometimes it's not time. Sometimes it's climb or run, meaning you have to have stats in jump or speed or you lose. Smash run is all luck, and it's not fun.

Rant aside, I've actually been enjoying the online, despite the lag. I've been playing Captain Falcon and Little Mac lately. I never really played falcon in the other ones, but I'm playing him for this one, and he's a lot of fun. His falcon punch is more viable now, since it's faster, but it's still pretty hard to hit with. However, if you do hit with it, it's the greatest feeling. I love KO-ing with it.

Too true. It's best to try the different methods for a worthy result. As for that yup gotta love that Captain Falcon and his Falcon Punch.

Was it quick. And did you have to face them or where they unlocked already. Cause I might try this in Wii U. If it's the same aquirements.

Re: Super Smash Bros 3DS/Wii U

tfw you beat someone in for glory so hard they exit out to not fight you again
On the contrary, whenever someone is beating me too hard, I like to act like the training bot you fight before the match starts, and never attack, only recover. I'm sure they feel like a jerk afterwards. I'm not the most sportsmanslike Smash player.

Yea it was pretty quick, and I faced them and if I won they would unlock, but if you lose against them, they'll appear again.

Re: Super Smash Bros 3DS/Wii U

That was glorious.

I'm currently trying to find somewhere to preorder the Wii U bundle with the GC controller and adapter, but it doesn't seem like any place is available to pick up in my area on release day. Probably waited too long. hmm I would like to get the game on release, but really don't want to have to deal with release day lines and stores running out of stock. Probably will just end up getting all the items separately.

I'm sure you'll get them. Hopefully there isn't a line for Wii U. Looking forward to it! The Announcer singing Pokemon theme was awesome!
