My own Spyro Dream

I saw a topic about someone else's Spyro dream. That reminded me that I had my own Spyro dream when I was a kid years ago. But this year, when the outside started to remind me of my 'childhood', I had the dream again. I didn't remember much of it, but I do remember most (I think).

It was a nice dream, where I was classic Spyro, in a Hero's Tail type world. I remember I was deep in a tropical forest, with ancient sandstone walls making an ancient, wide path, with a grassy dirt ground. I was going through it, and it took a corner, and beyond that corner was a sandstone temple. I went inside, to the top, and flew over that same path that brought me, going over the wall to the right of the corner, and there was a place surrounded by a circular sandstone wall, and a grassy path going down, in circles for not very long. At the bottom of that was some pieces of stone that seemed to be remnants of great stone statues.

I'm thinking of making (a) picture(s) to give a better idea of it. I don't think I described it very well. But the dream was very pleasing, and soothing. I was happy. I also felt younger. (I'm 13, in case your wondering.) The entire thing was like a section of a level.

I love exploring around in dreamlands ... and it's your mind's creativity, probably at its highest degree of creativity.

Re: My own Spyro Dream

I also had a dream about Spyro, it's a very good story to add to my game (my own little experiment tongue)'s storyline. That reminds me, i have to finish that sample and make a thread asking for help hmm

Re: My own Spyro Dream

I think I'm going to make that drawing today. Btw, I remember I had a different dream as well. All I remember of that one, though, is just a small floating island with grass, a brick wall from one side to the middle, and a classic portal, a little higher then the wall, but being part of the wall. I didn't describe it very well, but I don't think I'll make any drawings of it. Not enough content.

Re: My own Spyro Dream

Okay, so I didn't get to draw it, because Gimp 2 was being stupid. But I made a model, and took some screenshots.

Scene 1: http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/t59 … eb2a92.png
This is an overhead view of the model I made. The messy, thick, green paint is just a reminder that their's supposed to be a lush, green jungle there.

Scene 2: http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/t59 … dc1b7a.png
This is where I started off in my dream. Then I took the right.

Scene 3: http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/t59 … 67aad1.png
Then I saw the temple. It was empty and small.

Scene 4: http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/t59 … 84cf65.png
I saw the scene from a 3rd person view then, watching me, Spyro.

Scene 5: http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/t59 … 8439c0.png
I watched myself fly from the top floor, to the circular area.

Scene 6: http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/t59 … a1826b.png
I watched myself land on the top of the dirt (supposed to be grassy) slope. I couldn't do this part very well. It was supposed to resemble something like this: http://i.ytimg.com/vi/gx1vvCWHGjc/hqdefault.jpg (From TLoS:AnB) But with a dirt wall instead of stone. The blue paint is marking that weird mistake ledge.

The entire dream seemed to be tinted gold, like something from a Narnia movie.

I'm wondering if anyone could possibly draw the scenes I gave you. That would make me a happy person. spyro

36, John, you two made my day a little happier. smile It did take very long to make, so I'm glad it was worth it. In case anyone's wondering, I made it with SketchUp. It's free.

Re: My own Spyro Dream

No prob pal. And it's good. With how great the graphics are on the PS4 if they made a Spyro game for it. And I mean an original one. I'm sure I could see the levels looking like that.

Re: My own Spyro Dream

If I were to make an original Spyro game with a world like that, I would have to extend it. Also, the circle area would be too far for Spyro to fly to from the temple, so I think there would be a 'powerup' like that spring 'powerup' (powerup's in quotation marks because I don't want to call it a 'powerup') from Spyro 2 at the top of the temple. As for some finish n' touches, I would add a little moss creeping in-between the stone in the corners, and then I would ask for your guy's help on what the extension would be. It would be a pretty cool world. Or maybe it could be altered into a home world! Much cooler idea!

Re: My own Spyro Dream

I think you got the right ideas already. You sound like you wouldn't need help with anything. Cause you got the ideas down tact. Making it a home world would definitely work.

Re: My own Spyro Dream

I don't understand why someone, like most of the original team, decide to make another classic Spyro game. *Cue whatever music you want* Sure, they ran out of ideas, but it's not about the ideas, is it? No, it's about satisfying the fans. We don't need guns or armor or anything else stupid like that. The only thing that matters is keeping that classic feel, and make the fans cheer! *Cheer*

Re: My own Spyro Dream

It's not really about satisfying the fans, though. It's about making a profit. Sometimes those two things go together, but not if it's a small enough fanbase.

Also, if you don't have any good ideas, your game is probably not going to be very good, which wouldn't satisfy anyone.

This is a small portion of why nearly every fandom I've ever been a part of has always been obnoxious to me. They all don't understand this simple fact. It's easy to think that companies putting money over the smallest subset of fans, even if they're the most loyal, as being mean, but they fail to put themselves in the comapny's position and realize that if you only cater to the little folk, you are going to go bankrupt and put a lot of people out of work.

It is sad but true. Doubt will ever get Classic Spyro again. It's just a pipe dream at this point.
