Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One thoughts?

What do you guys think of the latest Ratchet and Clank game? More specifically, i am asking your opinions on the changes to gameplay and style. Is it good, does it ruin the game, etc. The same questions that have been asked about The Legend of Spyro and Skylanders.

Also, what are your thought's on this quote from the comment section of the RaC:A40 Gamescom trailer on You Tube?

"Sonic, Spyro, Crash, Ratchet & Clank

What does they all have in common? They dared to make a change to their routine, but their fanbase can't stand it. Those guys must be friends, since they know how each other feels. Oh well.

Doesn't it bother you that you can play as any character, not just Ratchet and Clank? Frankly, i think the complaints are stupid. You can play single player with Ratchet and Clank, you are not forced. And what is so wrong with good ol' fashioned team work?

Not realy, its not like skylanders were your told to pay to get the new charictors, so It dos'nt bother me hmm

but people moan about ANYTHING trust me.

White knight chronicals 2 for example came with the first game remasterd on the same disk...

I agree. A lot of the fans are being ridiculous about the new game. I've played every Ratchet & Clank game (except for Size Matters which I heard sucked), and I think that Insomniac has the right idea with All 4 One. I'm not usually one for playing online, but if I could get a couple of my friends to play along, I'm sure this game will be awesome. Yeah, the formula they've been using for 10 years works, but it certainly isn't a bad thing to change things up sometimes. Also, who's to say they won't continue with the classic gameplay after this game? Though you do have to wonder how long the franchise will last.

I wish they would have had a better option for the 4th character other than Nefarious though; I'm pretty sure he's supposed to be dead. Guess he's new Ripto now. I would have liked to see them bring back Skidd or maybe Talwyn or something. Maybe they'll give a believable explanation why Nefarious is suddenly alive again, who knows.

I personally wouldn't try to group this in with the Spyro discussion. Spyro's been juggled by countless different developers. Insomniac has stuck by R&C, and I think we can trust them to put out a high-quality game.

Very true, as long as they keep it fun. Changes are good as long as they are for the better. I think this game has little to do with the Funture Trilogy. This is a stand-alone.

Actually, the reason why Nefarious is alive is explained in the Comic book series. Lawrence managed to teleport him off his ship before he crashed and he fixed him.

I've only played one Ratchet and Clank game for the PS2...I don't remember much about it. Other than it was pretty funny.

Yes, once again, people are *bleep*ing and moaning about changes to the game, and alot seem to be *bleep*ed that Ratchet looks different now. His face is a luttle wider and Clank is taller.

What is so sinfull about co-op in Ratchet and Clank? Why is it so bad to mix it up, experiment and see what works? What is so wrong abou playing a Ratchet and Clank game with four friends online who also hapopen to be fans. Never satisifed....

Ah, I see. I never knew there was a comic series. o_o It still seems really farfetched after seeing the cutscene, but I guess it doesn't really matter much anyway. Games like this don't need to have a good story to be fun. (Take Super Mario Bros Wii for example)

Too bad they thought Spyro was a useless character in modern gaming because he couldn't carry a gun. >_> Hopefully when Insomniac are all said and done with Ratchet they keep the copyright or something. I don't want to see a "Legend of Ratchet" series. =P

Well that was the same opinion on the Legend Of Spyro series, and i thought they did okay.

Also, is it just me, or does Ratchet have lighter colored fur?

Also i think they complain about it is beacuse, like simple human nature, many people do not adjust well to change because they think that the previous way was the best, and they fear that change will ruin it. I call that " Video Game Conservatism "...... or Video Game Republicans XD.

IMO, nothing, as long as they continue to make the other kinds of games that everyone likes when it's done. And as long as they don't throw out all of their own canon and universe and characters and start over with new, cardboard, cliche ones. (If you didn't guess, that's the problem I had with the Spyro reboot. tongue )

And XDx1000 @ Legend of Ratchet.... I want to say it could never happen, but Ratchet seems like a pretty similar character to Spyro personality-wise, and look what happened to Spyro.... tongue

@Paranoia: I have classes and work all day and my roommates go to bed super early. D: I'll start it this weekend if my other job doesn't assign me hours then.

I hope to Odin that doesn't happen. Ratchet & Clank should stay in Insomniac's hands, it's better that way.

I think it's decent, but not as good as the originals, Ratchet and Clank 3 Up Your Arsenal is still the best in the series!

Anyway, i've got the game and I enjoy it as another installment of the series but I do kinda miss the old gameplay. Overall, though, it's still a good game especially for more than one player. Insomniac did a good job coming up with the different ways to play around with the two to four player gameplay. i was impressed.
