Why, intersecting stable time loops too complicated for you?
Just doesn't seem to fit in Final Fantasy. Much less XIII.

Re: IT'S BACK! :D
Okay, I was at the Eurogamer convention and I caught a glimpse of FF XIII-2 footage. It involves a moogle, and it still basically forces you to let the computer do everything. Open-world or not, that combat system was the absolute worst part of XIII. So I'm not touching that thing.

Y'know you can just(and franklly more better) to just select the ablitites you want manually right? And i thought the battle mechanics were outstanding. Buffs and Debuffs were actually useful. Tanking was useful. Scanning enemies was actually recommended

Re: IT'S BACK! :D
If you wanted any pace to your fighting, you had to use the auto-fight. There was simply no way to process the combo strings you had to put into place in time. It says a lot that you can only control the leader and it still is pretty hard to play manually.
Also, this is coming from someone who played FF XII manually, so it's not like I'm just impatient.

How does that negate the effect of the pace? That just makes it worse!

gb2 Halo, n00b.
Also, that's all well and good, but I was making a point about the whole auto-fight mechanic and how it ruined the combat by taking the fun out of it, and making it impossible to do it manually.

You can do it manually. Infact It's better to use it when selecting spells from SYN and SAB. RAV to if we abuse enemy weaknesses.

Re: IT'S BACK! :D
So what? You spend time messing about with manual options and the boss has just wiped your party in three attacks. I'll agree that sometimes SYN or SAB are best as manual leaders (especially Vanille with Death), but there's not that much difference, and I still don't care. I'm sorry, but two fire spells? Two cure spells? Attacks only have situational effects?
I even preferred FF X-2's combat to XIII's. At least it had a little humour to it.

If that ever happens. You either have slow reflexs or are majorlly underleveled and have pretty poor equipped. Because that's never really happened to me before. And i often select attacks manually.

I actually kinda liked FFXIII. I thought the battle mechanics were awesome and the music was good. Story was terrible though and the only charcters i liked was...everyone other than Hope.
Also would you believe me if i said the 5 years its taking VXIII now was really the pre-planning phase and just now it's starting development? Cus it is.

Wasn't there a battle speed option in the options menu? Because I think I set that pretty high (or maybe I'm thinking of XII again, a far superior FF). Besides, going into a battle where you can't be killed in three moves is boring. Excluding the Tonberrys. They weren't boring at all.
