Ignitus was sipping a coffee when Razzek's console starts to beep.
"Ignitus, I'm reading Apes on Long range sensors. Shall I go to red alert?" asks Razzek.
"No but put the message on text display for the other guardians. I want to surprise them." says Ignitus.
"ok." says Razzek before she taps on her console.

Meanwhile in engineering, Volteer is in his workshop improving has RYNO launcher when a beep comes from a console next to him.
It read:
" Apes are about to attack, all guardians to battle stations.
Do not set off the klaxons.
Ignitus wants to surprise them."

"Kids, pick up your phasers and head to the rookery. Make sure your phasers are personalised and set for only you to use." says Volteer.
"Yes DAD!" yells the young dragons before they pick up phaser rifles and disappear into Jefferies tube hatches.

Meanwhile, Cyril's wings of the temple, one of Cyril's kids are modifying a grenade.
"What are you doing to that grenade Chillier?" asks Cyril as he walks in.
"I'm modifying it to explode ice dragon venom instead of sharp stones. The theory is when it explodes it'll freeze the target instantly." replies Chillier.
"cool." says one of Cyril's daughters as she passes.
"No, Freezerilla. Frozen!" says Chillier before he and Cyril laughs. "There is going to be an ape attack. Tell the others to prepare to defend the grotto but don't set off the klaxons." says Cyril.
"Ok. Dad." says Chillier before he leaves.
Cyril picks up some of Chillier's grenades and put them into a belt pocket.

Meanwhile in Terridor's Temple wing, one of Terridor's sons is doing some weightlifting with a 1 ton weight.
A trolley is sneaking up unnoticed by the weightlifter.
It has a label on it:
"Noise generator on wheel movement device.
Volteer Labs"

It gets near to the weightlifting dragon and makes a klaxon noise. The sudden noise makes the dragon jump and throws the weight in the air. It lands on the trolley with a clang. The weightlifting dragon lifts up the weight and puts it to the side.
"Now that's what I call a flat pack." He says before picking up the flat trolley and throws like it like a frizzby. A loud roar fills the wing. The weightlifter leaves the gym and goes to the wing main meeting hall.
"Sharpen your maces, we are expecting an ape attack any minute." begins Terridor from a monitor.
"I keep mine extra sharp dad" says a young dragon.
"I'm glad to hear that Terrina." says Terridor before a noise of motorised mace sharpeners fill the air.
"We must prevent them from destroying the eggs." says Terridor.
"Don't worry dad, they won't get very far." says one young dragon.
"Not without fatal mace wounds they won't." says a gruff mean looking female young dragon.
"Excellent, put your armour on and report to the grotto." Says Terridor before the monitor switches off.

Meanwhile, 3 miles from the temple, the ape storm troopers are marching towards the temple chanting.

"I don't know that I've been told.
The ice guardian's breath is very cold
We're going to bust down the door
Until it hits the temple floor
The earth guardian's face is indescribable
For a statue it's definitely incompatible
We put on war paint
Our attack is planned right
One thing's that certain
Someone going to get a bruised tonight"

Back at the temple, the guardians are having a meeting.
"Are the weapon system online yet, Volteer?" asks Ignitus. "No, the shield emitters are still fried from the last attack and the phaser plasma power relays are still damaged." replies Volteer.
"*bleep* IT!!!!" says Terridor.
"There is a self-destruct system installed in the temple. It needs all of us to input our authorization codes to activate it. I installed it just encase the Dark Master returns or if the apes overrun us and take over the temple. Also it's to stop the apes getting their paws on our advanced technology." says Volteer.
"Nice." says Terridor.

A beep comes from the door. "Enter" says Ignitus.
Spyro walks into the room armed to the teeth. He has 2 phasers, Uzi's, grenades, various paw guns, C4 and an unusual belt round his waist.
"Why is everyone running around wearing armour and carrying phaser rifles?" asks Spyro.
"We are expecting an attack." Replies Ignitus before asking" Why are you got weapons on and what is that belt you're wearing?"
"I was on my way to do some weapons training in the holodeck when I saw Ignituie wearing armour and carrying a phaser rifle. I thought to myself, something's up. So I came up to find out what the fuss is about." Replies Spyro.
"What's the belt for?" asks Volteer.
"It's a personal shield belt. It's powered by my body's bio-electrical field." Replies Spyro.
"Does it work?" asks Ignitus.
"I was on my way to the holodeck to test it when I saw Ignituie. This only a prototype and it only works for me." says Spyro before he activates it and he is covered in a purple energy sphere.
"Nice." Says Ignitus before Spyro turns off the shield.

"Has anyone seen Cynder?" asks Ignitus.
"Not since lunchtime." replies Spyro.
"She could be in the gardens. I'll go look for her." says Spyro.
"It's dangerous to be out at night at the moment." Says Ignitus before Spyro leaves the briefing room in a turbolift.
Ignitus taps his com necklace.
"Ignitus to Volteer." He says.
"Go ahead Ignitus." Replies Volteer.
"Cynder is missing. Can you run a sensor sweep of the temple and the gardens for her." asks Ignitus.
"I'm running the scan now." says Volteer before he closes the channel.

8 floors below the bridge, Spyro is tapping on a panel. A hiss of hydraulics is heard before the doors open. He goes through it and they close behind Spyro.
Spyro's com necklace beeps. He taps it.
"Volteer here, sensors have located Cynder. She is 3 clicks north of your present location." says Volteer.
"Thanks Volteer. I'm going after her now." says Spyro.

Ahead of Spyro, Cynder is muttering to herself. She is feeling sorry with herself.
"All this is my fault. The Dark master is free from convexity because of me. What is my destiny? Is it to serve the Dark Master or is it up to me to decide?" asks Cynder.
"CYNDER WAIT UP!!!!" yells Spyro before he catches up to Cynder.
"Your destiny is here, mine is somewhere else to find. I must go." says Cynder.
"Cynder, it's dangerous to be out at night at the moment. Come back into the Temple with me." says Spyro.
"No. I must go. Do you know the quickest way out of here?" asks Cynder.
"Through the roof!" replies a gruff hyper voice before an explosion goes off and Cynder flies into the air through the canopy roof.
"Harry, why did you do that for?" asks Spyro.
"She asked fore the quickest way and I gave it to her." Replies Harry before laughing hyper and running off.
"She had to ask, she had to…" says Spyro before he suddenly faints.

He wakes up in a strange place. Pillars are spinning in mid air and books are piled on stone ledges.
"Where in the ancestor's name am I?" asks Spyro.
"Welcome to my realm. My name is the Chronicler." says a voice.
"Why have you brought me here?" asks Spyro.
"I'm brought you here to teach you how to breathe fire." replies the Chronicler.
"I already know how to breathe fire." says Spyro.
"I know you do. That battle with the evil Cynder took all your strength. I want to restore what that is lost." Says the chronicler before a spooky voice says "Spyro, Spyro"
"GO AWAY" yells Spyro before a purple flash and everything stands still.

Spyro glides to a platform with a red glowing circle on it. Spyro step onto the platform and glows even redder.
"What just happened?" asks Spyro.
"The purple dragon has many abilities that others do not. For example, time. This gift must be used sparingly." explains the chronicler.
"You're telling me that I can dodge arrows?" asks Spyro.
"When you're ready, you don't need to." replies the chronicler as the red energy covers Spyro.

"I can feel my fire returning." says Spyro.
"Let it build in you like an angry volcano." says the Chronicler before an explosion of flame.
Spyro walks off the platform and into an arena.
A red fiery forcefeild blocks the exits.
Loads of apes suddenly run into the arena. Spyro fights them. He is knocking the apes all over the arena.
An ape touches a statue.
"Me, me, me" says the ape as the stone morphs into an ape. "Me too." says the new ape before they rejoin the fight.
An ape punches Spyro into a wall.
Spyro gets up and rips a pole from the wall. The stone is still on end of the pole.
He spins it round himself and does a "come here if ya want some" with his paw.
An ape attacks and Spyro whacks the ape with the stone covered end of the pole. The impact breaks the stone off the pole and it crumbles onto the floor.
Spyro jumps into the air. As he is flying through the air, he is spinning the pole round himself.
He lands and starts to knock apes all over the arena.
An ape tries to surprise Spyro by flying through the air. Spyro sees the ape and protects his head with the pole. The impact of the apes attack breaks the pole.

The other apes pile onto Spyro. "APE PILE!" they all say in unison.
"We have you now little dragon. You can't escape." says an ape.
"I have a reality check for you Pal." says Spyro before throwing the apes all over the arena and prepares to do a fire fury. The fury explodes and roasts all the apes.
"TOASTY!" says the Chronicler before Spyro leaves the arena and he walks to a building guarded by dragon statues.
He walks into a chamber with a blue pool.
He looks into the pool and only sees his reflection.
"What now?" asks Spyro.
"Follow your heart. I will be in touch." Says the Chronicler before a flash filled Spyro's eyes.

"Spyro, Spyro, Wake up!" says a voice.
"5cc of Tricordazine" says a hyper female voice before a hiss is heard.
Spyro groans as he wakes up.
"Where am I?" asks Spyro.
"You are in the temple sickbay. Chillia found you and summoned medical help." says a young red dragon before wincing in pain clutching a rib.
"Are you alright Ignito?" asks Spyro.
"Just a bruised rib and 1 black eye." Replies Ignito before Ignitus limps in to the sickbay.

"Let me have a look at you Ignitus." says the hyper female medical dragon.
"I'm alright Beverly, I've just come to see if Spyro's alright that's all." says Ignitus.
"Sorry, I insist, Temple regulations" says Beverly.
"Fine." Says Ignitus before limping over to a bio bed and lies on it.
Beverly scans him with a medical Tricorder.
"Just a twisted ligament in your front left ankle. You need to rest it for a few days. I'll give you something for the swelling though." says Beverly before injecting something into the swollen ankle with a hyper spray.
"Thanks Beverly." says Ignitus.
"What did I miss?" asks Spyro.
"Nothing much. The apes didn't stand a chance." replies a blue young dragon on another bio bed.

A klaxon sounds and a voice says "ANY OF TERRIDOR'S KIDS TO LEVEL 4 SUBSECTION 3! DAD'S GONE SUDDENLY BERSERK!"
"Dad," says a blue young dragon on a bio bed before clutching her head and wincing.
Spyro jumps up and leaves the sickbay.
"Where's he going?" asks Ignitus.
"Don't know." says Beverly.
Spyro gets into a turbo lift. "Level 4 subsection 3." Says Spyro and the lift moves.

Meanwhile 2 floors below the sickbay, Cyril is growling fiercely and spitting ice chards everywhere.
"Why is dad so worked up? I have never seen him like this before." says a young blue dragon as Spyro's turbo lift arrives.
"Hi Spyro, Why is dad so worked up?" asks a young blue dragon.
Spyro looks round the corner. He is greeted by a roar and 27 ice shards flying at him. He ducks behind the wall. The ice shards shatter on the wall.
"It's Pon Farr. I'm sure of it." replies Spyro before he taps on his necklace.
"Medical emergency, level 4 subsection 3." says Spyro.
"A medical team is on its way Spyro." says a hyper voice. "Thanks Beverly." says Spyro.

"Are you ok Dante?" asks Spyro.
"Does it look like it?" replies Dante before raising a wing and showing Spyro an ice shard in his leg.
"Ow." says Spyro.
"I can't feel my tail." says another one.
"You'll be fine. Beverly will patch you up good as new." says Spyro.
"Tell me truth. Is my tail ok?" asks the young ice dragon. "It's fine." Replies Spyro.
"I can tell by your face that you're lying just make feel better." says the injured ice dragon.
"Its fine I swear." Says Spyro as the medical team arrive.
Spyro taps a medic on the shoulder.
"Give me a hyper spray loaded with a tranquilizer. I'll deal with Cyril." says Spyro.
"ARE FLIPPING MENTAL?" asks the medic.
"No." replies Spyro.
"I'll save you a biobed. The look on his face is full of malice, evil, hatred, oh ah…" says the medic.
"Don't worry, Volteran. I'll be all right; I've beaten the Dark Queen. He should be a piece of cake compared to her." reassures Spyro as they load the injured dragons onto gurneys and put them in the turbo lift.
"May the Ancestors protect you Spyro. Good luck." says Dante before the lift doors shut.

Spyro puts the hyper spray in a belt pocket.
He was about to activate he shield grid but changed his mind.
As Spyro walks round the corner, Cyril spits razor sharp ice shards at Spyro.
Spyro leans back and everything slows to a crawl.
The ice shards completely fly above Spyro leaving ripples in the air in their wake.
"Nice." Says Spyro as he gets up.
Cyril roars and prepares to charge Spyro.
Spyro puts the hyper spay into a paw.
"Take your best shot." says Spyro before Cyril charges.
Spyro pulls a dragon time flip over Cyril and injects him with the hyper spray.
Cyril turns round and roars before he keels over onto the floor.
"Spyro to Ignitus." says Spyro after he taps his necklace.
"Go ahead Spyro. Do you need medical help?" he asks.
"No. Cyril is going through his Pon Farr. I've tranquilised him." replies Spyro.
"I'll beam him to the holodeck so he can get over it." says Ignitus before Cyril disappears in a beam of blue light.
Spyro gets into the nearest turbo lift and says "Bridge"
The doors close and the lift starts to move.

Meanwhile on the bridge, Ignitus is sitting in the commander's chair.
"Dad, engineering reports the pillar torpedo launchers are back online and read to fire." says a young dragon to the tactical console.
"Excellent, target those ugly apes." says Ignitus.
"Torpedoes locked and armed, dad." says the red dragon at the tactical.
"FIRE! Full spread!" says Ignitus before the red dragon taps on the tactical console.
A klaxon sounds before the torpedoes are fired. They fly past the apes.
"HA! Missed!" shouts an ape before the torpedoes sharply turn round and fly at them.
"Oh, Crap." says an ape before they are all blown up in a massive explosion.
"Nice shot, Flambé." says Ignitus.
"Thanks Dad," says Flambé before Spyro walks out of the turbo lift onto the bridge.

"Spyro, I want to see you in the Dragon Statue room." says Ignitus before he gets up and limps to the turbo lift.
"Beverly told you to rest that ankle." says Spyro before he gets into Ignitus's lift.
"HOLD THAT LIFT!" shouts Terridor before he gets in.
"Dragon Statue room." says Ignitus. The lift moves and ten seconds later it arrives and they get out.
They go into the Dragon Statue room. A young yellow dragon is working on a broken IDN conduit.
"Leave us. We want to have a private meeting." says Ignitus.
The yellow dragon leaves.
"Computer activate door security lockout. Authorisation 1-Gamma-Gamma-Yankee" says Ignitus
"All access doors to chamber secured." says the computer.

"I saw you in the pool of visions earlier under a tree holding a phaser rifle." says Ignitus.
"I see that tree in my dreams" says Spyro.
"Young dragon you've been keeping secrets. What do you see in these dreams of yours?" asks Ignitus as Terridor gets a drink from the replicator.
Spyro closes his eyes.
"I see a tree in a swamp and a mountain draped in fog and shadow." replies Spyro.
"The mountain of MALEFOR!" yells Terridor after he spits out his drink in shock.
"Mountain of Malefor? What's bad about that place?" asks Spyro.
"You don't want to *bleep*ing know!" replies Terridor just as the ODN that the yellow dragon was working on blew up with a flash and a loud bang.
"That bad eh?" says Spyro.
"Oh, yeah." says Ignitus.
"Now that was coincidence." sys Ignitus after he sees what the flash and bang was.

"What else do you see in these dreams of yours?" asks Ignitus.
"There is a voice calling him self the Chronicler. Who is he?" asks Spyro.
"The chronicler is a wise old dragon who legend has it, writes events as they happen and he has the power to see the future. He hasn't been seen or heard by anyone for a dragon's age. I think he only appears to a chosen few." says Ignitus before he taps his com-necklace.
"Ignitus to Volteer." says Ignitus.
"Volteer here. what's up? You sound very concerned, worried, oh ahh…" says Volteer.
"Send a priority one message to Wolfrag warning them about evil things afoot at the Mountain of Malefor." says Ignitus.
"Sorry, the main commutations array is still under repair. Don't get me started about the main EPS manifold in that area." says Volteer.
"WHAT! THE ARRAY IS OFFLINE! MAKE IT A PRIORITY VOLTEER! DENZINS MUST BE WARNED!!!" says Ignitus.
"Sorry, It won't be on-line for 48 hours, my children are stretched already doing repairs all over the temple. Some of my kids are sleeping.
You try battling apes with batleth's for 4 hours straight and see how tired you feel afterwards." says Volteer.

"GET THAT *bleep* BLOODY ARRAY ONLINE IN 3 HOURS VOLTEER OR YOU'LL FEEL MY WRATH!!" says Ignitus.
"Believe me, nothing survived his wrath, I saw it." says Spyro.
"OK. OK. I'll get some of my kids on it.
We can probably get it online before the eclipse but I can't promise though." says Volteer.
"You better, or else." says Ignitus.
"WARNING! Eclipse in 7 hours." says the temple computer.
"We have less than 6 and a half hours till the eclipse and we have no way to warn people." says Ignitus.
"We could send my kids as messengers. They wear light weight Armour and take no crap. They'll get the messages to their destinations no problem." says Terridor.
Ignitus unlocks the doors and Terridor leaves.
"I think there is a tree that looks exactly like the one I saw in the pool of visions in the Yellow Swamp. Try there." Says Ignitus as they leave the room and go to a turbo lift.

Ignitus calls it and they get in.
"Main shuttle bay" says Spyro.
"Bridge." says Ignitus before he gives Spyro a purple bit of metal with a bend with two prongs on the end of it.
"What's this?" asks Spyro.
"It's a crowbar. It has many uses. For example smashing wooden obstacles." says Ignitus.
"I bet I can cave in a few skulls with this." says Spyro before he puts the crowbar into his wing pocket.
"Thanks." says Spyro.
Ignitus smiles before the lift arrives at the shuttle bay. Spyro gets out.
"May the Ancestors protect you. May they protect us all." Says Ignitus before the doors shut and the lift starts to move.
Ignitus arrives on the bridge. He sees Volteer at the engineering console.
"When you get the transporters back online, start transporting the eggs and our kids to Wolfrag." says Ignitus.

"Mobile Turrets On-line." says the Temple computer.
"Mobile turrets?" asks Ignitus.
"They are tripod mobile weapon platforms. They seek out non-dragon or authorized personnel and eliminate, terminate, make them rigger mortis, brown bread, oh ahh." explains Volteer.
"oh." says Ignitus.

Meanwhile 3 floors below them, an ape is crawling through an air vent. He checks the corridor is empty before removing the cover.
He crawls out and puts back the cover in place.
He turns round a sees a red beam pointing at him.
He stands up and sees a while oval on 3 legs staring at him.
"Hello. Preparing to dispense product." It says before two guns pop out the sides and it shoots.
The ape stood no chance.
The turret scans the corridor.
"Is anyone there?" it asks as it scans.
"Your business was appreciated, goodbye." It says before it puts its guns away and carries on with its patrol.

Spyro lands at the swamp an hour later.
"Ignitus sends to exotic and dangerous places don't he?" asks Sparx.
"He knows that I can defend and look after myself. Also I have a personal shield grid to protect me if I need to use it." replies Spyro as they walk down a path.
Sparx and sees a bush shake in the corner is his eye. Spyro suddenly whips round and shoots the bush with his Uzi.
"Nothing there, well that's living anyway." Says Spyro before he puts his Uzi away and continue to walk along.
An ape staggers out of the bush and keels over due the bullet wounds.
A butterfly passes Spyro's head before Sparx eats it.
"Don't eat that, you don't know what it is." says Spyro.
"They're delish. Try one." says Sparx before he eats another one.
"Catch nothing smaller than a bilge rat. Scrab rewards prize fighters for the arena." says a voice.
Spyro quietly separates a bush.
"Man those pirates are ugly. We better be careful, we don't want be captured." says Spyro before he suddenly keels over. The bush springs back into place.
"Now's not the time to take a nap." says Sparx before he releases a loud burp. He was lucky that no one heard it.

Spyro wakes up in the Chronicler's realm.
"I have brought you here to learn how to jump gaps using dragon time and the power of Ice." says the Chronicler before a red band of magic bind Spyro's wings to his body.
"That gap is impossible, I can't jump that." says Spyro.
"Nothing is impossible if you put your mind to It." says the Chronicler.

Spyro closes his eyes and the realm is covered in a purple flash. He jumps the gap. He gets half-way and falls.
He screams as he falls.
A flash and Spyro is back standing on the platform he started on.
"What are you trying to teach me?" asks Spyro.
"I'm just trying to free your mind. Even the purple dragons before you fell first go. Just focus." replies the Chronicler.
"ok." says Spyro before he puts a look of deep concentration on his face and jumps.
He sails over the gap and lands. The stone cracks where he landed.
"Nice. Even your father was a fast learner. Spyro stand on the blue platform. A blue explosion fills the air before the red band fades and disappears.
Spyro walks off the platform and into the arena.
A blue magic forcefeild blocks the exits.
A rock troll enters the arena. It roars and waves his club in a threatening manner. Spyro just gives the rock troll a look of deep contempt.
It roars before it attacks. Spyro dodges it using dragon time.
He spit ice shards at the troll's *bleep*. It yelps in pain.
Spyro is bouncing a ball with a clip and a pin in it.
Spyro grins as he pulls out the pin with his teeth and flicks off the clip before he throws it at the rock troll. The rock troll catches it in his mouth and swallows it.
"I'll reconsider your career if I were you," says Spyro as the beeping stops.
"Too late." says Spyro before the grenade explodes and the rock troll is blow to pieces.
"Rest in Pieces" says the chronicler before a flash fills Spyro's vision.

"Welcome back to the real world." says Sparx as Spyro comes round.
They walk down a path and they see a big tree.
"That's the tree from my dreams." says Spyro.
"I've got a baaaaaad feeling about this tree." says Sparx.
"It's just a tree." says Spyro before the tree comes to life.
"YAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHHH!" screams Sparx before flying into a log.
Spyro turns round to see a tree like monster giving him a dirty look.
"What ya looking at wood for brains?" asks Spyro.
The monster just roars and throws a rock at Spyro.
Spyro dodges the rock using dragon time.
"No one throws a bolder at me and gets away with it!" says Spyro before he pulls out 2 Uzi's and fires at the monster.
Bit's of wood fly off the monster.
The Uzis start to click.
A breeze whistles through the bullet holes.

"Oh for the name of Ancestor's! I've just emptied 2 Uzi magazines on ya. You now have more holes than Terridor's mattress and still standing! So let's take this to the next level." says Spyro before getting an RPG launcher out of his rucksack.
"EAT RPG *bleep*!" says Spyro before he fires a Rocket Propelled Grenade at the monster.
It explodes and the monster growls in pain.
The smoke clears and Spyro sees a massive hole in the monster's belly.
"BLOODY HELL! You've took 2 Uzi magazines AND a RPG and you are still standing.
That's it. I don't have time for this *bleep*." says Spyro before he gets out his phaser rife and puts it at full power.
He fires and the monster vaporizes.
"Sparx, you can come out now, the monster is gone." says Spyro before Sparx comes out of his hiding place.
"Nice one. That tree might me gone, but 'wood' not be forgotten." says Sparx as they walk down a path.
"Very witty Sparx." says Spyro.

Suddenly a pirate sneaks up unnoticed and knocks Spyro out. They drag him to an airship and it takes off.

An hour later, Spyro comes round to find himself in a cell. He finds that he has still got his weapons and his shield belt is in defence mode.
“That is some belt, the pirates tried to steal your weapons but the belt activated and shot them with phasers from the belt straps.
They gave up eventually after at least 5 pirates were vaporised by the defence system.” says Sparx.
Spyro is grinning to himself in satisfaction.

A guard is yelling “OI, purple face, you’re wanted in the arena.” before he unlocks the door and grabs Spyro by the tail. He drags him to the arena.
When they get into the arena, the guard lets go of Spyro’s tail and makes a break for the closing door. He skids under it. He leaves his hat in the arena. He pulls it to himself just before the door slams shut.

Spyro activates his shield grid. A bubble of energy covers Spyro. Sparx is in the bubble as well.
Two bipedal creatures are standing in front of Spyro giving him evil looks.
“ARE YOU READY TO RUMBLE?” asks a voice from a balcony. “YES!” replies the crowd before the creatures attack. Their fang hits Spyro’s shield bubble and their owners fly across the arena.
“Now that was shocking.” says Sparx before Spyro loads a RPG and shoots it and the creatures. They blow up and cover the wall in blood, guts and gore.
Spyro blows the smoke from RPG barrel.
“They were too easy, is that all ya got?” asks Spyro.

“The next combatant needs no introduction” says the first announcer.
“The queen of pain, the mistress of agony, The Duchess of terror” says the second announcer before an airship flies into the arena.

“GLaDOS, GLaDOS!” chants the crowd.
“Prepare to be terminated.” says GLaDOS before 6 cannonballs fly at Spyro. Spyro dodges them using dragon time.
“Your fighting style has been processed and we are ready to start the battle proper.” says GLaDOS before flying full pelt at Spyro.
He just pulls a dragon time flip out of the way.
She sharply turns and flies parallel with the arena wall.
“Are you still alive?” she asks.
“Yep” replies Spyro before pelting her airship with Uzi rounds.
She replies by firing a cannonball followed by a barrel of gunpowder with a lit fuse in it.
Spyro dodges the ball before knocking the barrel back at GLaDOS’s airship.
She dodges the barrel and it ends up in a row of crowd seats.
They scarper before the barrel blows up.

“I have a suspicion that that GLaDOS is not who she appears.” says Sparx.
“How come?” asks Spyro.
“The way she speaks. It sounds mechanical.” says Sparx before Spyro dodges another attack from GLaDOS.
“GLaDOS, control override. Authorisation code Spyro, 4,5,6,7 dash 1, 2, 3, 4.” Spyro says.
“Command override accepted. Awaiting orders.” says GLaDOS.
“Land and power down all systems. I’m coming aboard.” says Spyro before GLaDOS lands her airship and powers her engines down.
Spyro opens a hatch and climbs in.
Spyro sees a cone shaped main module with 3 cores on it. They were a blue one, a yellow one and a red one. The red one is growling like a caged animal. The yellow one just says “You’re the dragon from the battle, hi.”
Spyro read the core label.
It read:
“GLaDOS Astrosphere Probe
Volteer Labs”

Spyro taps his com-necklace.
“Spyro to Volteer. I found something that belongs to you.” says Spyro.
“Oh, what is it?” asks Volteer.
“Does the abbreviation GLaDOS mean anything to you?” asks Spyro.
“What is that?” asks the yellow eyed orb.
“Yes I do. That was a probe I sent to study atmospheric anomalies. It stopped transmitting 2 weeks ago.” says Volteer.

“The pirates were using her as an arena gladiator. I’m surprised she accepted my authorisation code and powered down.” says Spyro.
“So am I. Do you know the electric element tags on your belt?” asks Volteer.
“Yes. Why?” says Spyro.
“Oh, that thing has numbers on it.” says the Yellow eyed orb as Spyro holds it up.

“They are transporter tags. Can you attach one to the probe.” says Volteer.
“Done.” says Spyro.
“Tap the centre of the attached tag so I can get a transporter lock.” says Volteer.
Spyro taps it.

“Got transport lock. Initiating transport.” says Volteer before the probe disappears in a blue beam of light.
“Who are you?” says a voice from Spyro com necklace.
“I hear that she arrived ok. Spyro out.” says Spyro before he rigs the airship to explode and climbs out.

10 seconds later, it blows up. Bits of wood fly everywhere. A Cannon misses a pirate in the audience by inches.

“Anything else to beat?” asks Spyro.
“Not at the moment. GUARD! Take him back to his cell.” yells the pirate in charge before Spyro is lead back to his cell.

"This was a triumph,
I’m make a note here
HUDGE SUCCESS!
It’s hard to overstate
My Satisfaction

Spyro is my name
I do what I must
Because I can.
For the goes of
Both of us except
The enemies who are dead.

There is no use crying
Over every mistake
I keep on trying

And Sparx makes a pun
About the enemies who are not alive” sings Spyro.

“They are really angry,
They probably want to kill you now.
Just because you blew them up or shot them
Or hit them with crowbars
Or flame roasted them with your fire.
As the burned they screamed because
It hurts to be on fire.” sings Sparx.

“Now the bad guys are dead
We can go to bed
I’m glad we didn’t get killed
On the arena battlefield
We have our strength to rebuild
From the battle we just survived” Sings Spyro before he suddenly faints.

“You didn’t have to do that literally Spyro.” says Sparx.

Spyro opens his eyes to find that he is on a platform. He gets up and sees pillars spinning in the air.
“Ah, Spyro welcome back to my realm.” says the Chronicler.
“What are you going to teach me this time?” asks Spyro.
“I’m going to teach you the power of electricity. It’s shocking that Volteer taught you only the tip of the iceberg of all the power you have. He’s worried you’ll be like Malefor and turn to the dark side.” says The Chronicler before Spyro glides to a platform with a yellow glowing circle on it. He stands on the circle. It glows before an explosion of electricity fills the air.

“Spyro, you can find me on the Crystal Island at the Celestial Temple.” says the chronicler before Spyro’s vision fills with a white blinding flash.
He wakes up in his cell.
“Did you have a nice dream?” asks Sparx.
“Yes. The chronicler paid me a visit.

“Spyro, I have a message for you. Take it quick because I only have a short time before I’m missed.” says the mole.
“Thanks Mole-ya.” says Spyro before Mole-ya leave.

Spyro reads the letter.
It read:

“Dear Spyro,
You are not alone, you have friends and allies.
A black dragon your size has escaped and so far avoided capture.
How she did it, I don’t know.
The ape king has put a price on the dragon “Cynder”.
What she wants her for, I don’t know but it’s making me and our allies nervous.
I look forward to meeting you,
Hunter of Alvular”

“Who was it? A fan?” asks Sparx.
“No, someone called Hunter.” replies Spyro before he burns the note and hides the ashes under a hay pile.
Half an hour later, a pirate bangs on the cell door.
“OI, PURPLE FACE, YOU’RE WANTED IN THE ARENA!” says the pirate.

The pirate leads Spyro into the arena.

“We are in the presence of greatness; this purple dragon has beaten everything we thrown at him so far. Now we will put him against a gladiator who needs no introduction: RAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPIIIIIIIID RIDER!!!!” says the announcer before a heavily armed airship flies into arena.

“Prepare to die.” says the pilot before he disappears in a hatch and fires no quarter at Spyro.
He just dodges them in Dragon time.

“Ha, missed!!!” shouts Spyro before the airship charges at him at high speed.
Spyro dodges it and it hits a wall.
A hatch pops open. Spyro throws a satchel charge into the hatch.
The pilot closes the hatch.
He’s unaware that he has a bomb on board.

He turns his cannons to face Spyro.
Spyro pulls out a remote and flips up the safety catch.
“Guess what this is for.” says Spyro as he holds up the remote.
The pilot hears a beeping from the hold of his airship.

“EAT CANNONBALLS FREAK!” says the pilot before firing a no quarter at Spyro. Spyro just dodges the cannonballs in dragon time.

“Useless.” says Spyro before the pilot disappears below deck to reload his cannons.
The pilot finds a satchel with a blinking light caught on a pipe marked
“DANGER FUEL. EXTREMELY FLAMABLE!”
He sees a pin on the charge. “Hmm, if I pull out the pin, it’ll stop working and I can get rid of it.” says the pilot before he pulls out the pin.

The blinking light goes out.
“disarmed.” he says before a beeping starts.
“Huh?” Asks the pilot before he turns over the charge to find a counter counting down from 1 minute.
“HOLY *bleep*!” he yells before he kicks open the nearest escape hatch and jumps out of it. He runs like hell to get out of the blast radius. The Airship explodes. Wood, cannon balls, fabric and cannon flies everywhere.
Spyro is sharping his horns with a horn sharpener.
He charges at the pilot at full pelt.
“YEEEEEEOWWWWWWWWW” yells the pilot when Spyro hits him with his horns. The pilot jumps into the air with pain. Spyro spits a ball of electricity at the pilot. It electrocutes him and he catches fire.
“Shocking” says Spyro. “Toasty” says Sparx as the pilot runs round the arena like a loony trying to put the fire out.

Chapter 5: Celestial Temple

Suddenly a bomb explodes in the centre of the arena.
“ALL PIRATES AND SPECTATORS EVACUTE!!! EVERYONE TO THE LIFEBOATS IN A CARM ORGANISED MANNER.” shouts the announcer before everyone runs out the nearest exit on their stands.

“Look bro, there’s a hole in the gate. Let’s blow this popsicle stand.” says Sparx pointing to the busted gate.
The both leave the arena.
A yell shouts “WE ARE ALL GONNA DIE!
WE’RE ALL TOTALLY SCREWED!!!!!”
“DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!” yells an another prisoner.

Spyro spots a sign next to a lever:

Spyro slams down the lever.
Lots of bangs are heard all over the ship.
“The prisoners are free now. Let’s go to the captain’s cabin to see if we can find Crystal Island on his charts.” says Spyro.

They see a sign on the wall:

“Looks like the Captain’s cabin is this way.” says Sparx before they turn into a corridor full of boxes.

“Looks like I have to use my crowbar, ‘Mr Smasher’ “ says Spyro before he starts to break boxes with his crowbar.

“Man, these pirates collect some crap.” says Sparx.
“Oh, what’s this?” says Spyro before he picks up a yellow gun with three prongs on the end and blue glowing circle on it.

“VOLTEER LABS
Handheld Portal Device” Spyro reads off it.
He fires the portal device and blue circle appears on a wall. ”I wonder.” says Spyro as he press the other button while aiming at the bottom of a box. An orange blow comes out of the barrel and an orange circle appears below the box. It disappears into the orange and comes out the blue circle and smashes on the wall opposite the blue portal.
“Cool. This could very useful indeed.” says Spyro before he closes the portals and starts to walk down the corridor.
A whistle is blowing loudly.
Spyro sees that the fuel lines have ruptured and on fire.
“*bleep*” says Sparx.
“I have an idea.” says Spyro before he fires a blue blob through the flames and an orange one on the wall.
Spyro sees that the blue portal has opened in a room that’s past the burning fuel lines.
Spyro and Sparx walk through the portals.
“That’s saved us some time.” says Spyro before he deactivates the portals.

They come to a door. There is a sign on it.
It read:

Spyro notices that the door is slightly ajar and there is voices talking. Spyro sneaks up to the door and listens.

“The arena engines are about to fail. We better get to a life boat.” says a voice.
“The captain goes down with the ship. We parrots are outta ‘ere.” says a parrot before a smashing of glass is heard.
“Screw going down with the ship.” says the captain before he jumps out of the cabin window
Spyro checks the coast is clear before he opens the door. A map is open on the desk. A dagger is sticking in the map.
“So the dagger marks where we are. Efficient the captain isn’t he?” asks Sparx.
“Found them. Fly to the second island to the left and straight on till morning.” says Spyro before he flies out the window followed by Sparx.

3 miles of flying later, Spyro suddenly faints and falls into the sea.
“SPYRO!” yells Sparx.

Spyro opens his eyes to find he is back in the chronicler’s realm.
“Ah, Spyro, we will soon meet face to face. We have to talk.” says the chronicler before Spyro glides to an platform glowing Green. A green explosion fills the air before a flash fills Spyro’s vision.

Spyro opens his eyes to find he is on a beach. He gets up.
“Nice of you to join us at last.” says Sparx.
“hmm. I think we are on the Crystal island and ahead of us is the Celestial Temple.” says Spyro.
“What gives you that idea?” asks Sparx.
“The temple and the mailbox with a cape on it.” replies Spyro pointing to a mail box with a cape and “The Chronicler” written on the flag.
“oh.” says Sparx as Spyro walks up to the door.
It opens and they go in.

“To see the chronicler you desire,
A test of earth, electric, ice and fire,
You must pass,
otherwise you’ll be kicked out by your *bleep*!” says a spooky voice as they enter a chamber.

A magical forcefeild blocks the exit.
A dragon spirit enters the arena. She rapidly changes colour.
“What’s the purpose of the colour change?” asks Sparx.

“It you think you can beat me,
You’re having a joke, victory you’ll never see.
But if you can beat my colour challenge,
a pass you will manage.
My patience doesn’t run forever more
Solve my puzzle or be thrown out the door.” the spirit says.

Spyro spits a yellow ball of electric energy at the spirit. The spirit was blue when the orb hit and it bounced off. “?” says Sparx.

“I think the colours represent the elements. Let me think.” says Spyro as he thinks about the logos in the Dragon Temple. He remembers that Ignitus’s logo is
red.
He snaps his claw. “Got it. Red is fire.” says Spyro.
When the spirit is red, Spyro spits a fire ball and hit his the spirit and screams in pain.
“Defiantly cracked it.” says Spyro.

10 minutes later the spirit was defeated.
“You have brains that I do see,
and you have paid the entrance fee.
You can pass,
you cleaver sneaky clever *bleep*.” says the spirit before she disappears and the forcefeild disappears.

Spyro and Sparx walk into a chamber with walls covered in books, an enormous hourglass in the centre of the room and a desk with a feather pen in a pot.
Spyro sees an open box with “Wolfrag Pizza.
Delivered in 1 hour or you’re next one is free.”
Spyro was about to take the last pizza piece when a voice says “Don’t touch that, that’s my lunch.”
Spyro turns round to see a old dragon wearing a cape, a necklace with a blue crystal on it and a belt with quills, books and a flask in the pockets. He holds a paw up. The pizza slice flies into his paw and he eats it.
“Now that’s a nice trick” says Sparx.

“The chronicler, I presume.” says Spyro.
“yes” replies the Chronicler.
“How did you do that pizza thing?” asks Sparx.
“I used the force.” replies the Chronicler.
“Force?” asks Sparx.
“It’ll take too long to explain and time is short.” says the chronicler before a book floats in front of Spyro.
“Do you recognize the young dragon in the picture?” asks the Chronicler.
“Yes that’s me. Awwww, Sparx looks so cute.” says Spyro. “Show no one that picture.” says Sparx before the book floats away and returns to its shelf.

“Who is the Dark Master and why he was imprisoned?” asks Spyro.

“The Dark Master was so evil, despicable, and sadistic that he was banished to Convexity till the end of time. Well that was until, Cynder released him.” starts the Chronicler.
“I defeated Cynder and released her from his influence. She’s on our side.” says Spyro.
“For how long? If her master returns, she will turn. His control runs deeper than you think Spyro.” says the chronicler.
“But….” says Spyro.
“I know the ancient proverb, ‘Don’t judge a book by it’s cover’ Spyro.” says the chronicler.
“Oh, Sorry.” says Spyro.
“As I was saying, the Ape king wants to resurrect him on the night of Eternal Darkness. If he succeeds, the world is doomed.” says the Chronicler.
“I’m going to stop him.” says Spyro.

“there are evil spirits in the Well of Souls that’ll tear you from limb by limb without a moment’s notice.” says the Chronicler.
“I’ve fought worse.” says Spyro.
“Well, I wish you luck.” says the Chronicler before he starts to chant and stars appear round him.
Spyro and Sparx disappear.

Spyro and Sparx reappear on a ledge overlooking a green river.
"That river and mountain is giving me the creeps." says Sparx.
"Me too but we have a job to do." says Spyro before he glides to a ledge by a cave entrance.
He lands and starts to walk into the cave.
They get to a chamber with a dragon statue with flashing red eyes.
"Do you recognise that statue bro?" asks Sparx.
"Yes, it's exactly the same as the one at the temple but a bit more creepy." replies Spyro.
"YOU HAVE TRESSPASED ON MALEFOR'S PROPERTY. PREPARE TO DIE IN WAYS THAT ARE UNIMAGINABLE!" says a spooky voice from somewhere.

Spyro fires a blob from his portal device to a ledge above him and another in the wall next to him.
They go through the portals and Spyro deactivates them. They follow the path. It runs behind the dragon Statue.
"It's creepier than the temple one even from the back." says Sparx as they enter a corridor.

Spyro sees a guard and pulls Sparx behind a rock. "SHH" says Spyro before he fires a portal above the guard's head.
"Huh?" he asks before he walks up and down the corridor checking for anything unusual.
"Nothing there." he says before he resumes his station.
Spyro fires another portal in the floor. Sparx can see the guard's head through the portal. Spyro is carrying a large bolder with the portal gun's gravity gun mode. He drops it through the portal and it crushes the unsuspecting guard.
"You certainly got the drop on the guy." says Sparx.
"Yeah, he has a lot on his mind right now." says Spyro as the walk past the boulder.

"Volteer to Spyro," says Spyro's com-necklace.
"Go ahead Volteer." says Spyro.
"I see you found a Volteer paw held portal device." says Volteer
"I found it very useful." says Spyro.
"There is a technique called flinging. The velocity of an object entering on portal is carried to the next one." says Volteer. "Eh?" asks Sparx. "In layman's terms, speedy thing comes in, speedy thing comes out." explains Spyro.
"WHY DOESN'T HE JUST SAY THAT!" says Sparx.
Spyro laughs before he closes the channel.

They come to a canyon. Rocks are flying past them at high speed.
"Time to fling." says Spyro before he fires portal at a wall that's at an angle and one at the bottom of a deep pit. "Hold onto my tail and don't let go" says Spyro before he jumps into the pit with the portal in. Sparx is yelling as the go into the one at the bottom of the pit and fly out the other at high speed. They miss a rock by inches and land on the other side.
"THAT WAS AWESOME WITH A CAPTIAL A!" says Spyro.
Sparx is shaking. "Come on bro. Admit it, you enjoyed that a little bit." says Spyro.
"Alright, I did just a little." says Sparx.
"Thought you did." says Spyro before he sees a floating ape head.

It spits 5 fireballs at Spyro.
He dodges them in dragon time before he hides behind a pillar.
"How are we going to get past it?" asks Sparx.
"I have an idea." says Spyro before he fires a portal above the floating ape head and one on a wall.
"HEY, UGLY FIRE FACE, YOU CAN'T EVEN HIT AN SLOTH ON LAXITIVE!" taunts Spyro and he blows a raspberry. The ape head growls and spits 9 fire balls at Spyro.
Spyro jumps out the way and they go into the portal behind Spyro and out the other above the floating ape head. They hit the ape head and it explodes.

"Nice" says Spyro before he turns a corner. He hears someone singing from a checkpoint booth ahead of him.
"Sssh." says Spyro as he sneaks up to the booth.
The guard inside is singing.

The song went:
My shift is stupid
Every day's a bore
Inside this Checkpoint
From 8 to 4
Nothing ever happens
My life is pretty blank
Pretending that I am guarding
Pray that I don't get canned

Spyro is holding the booth over the cliff with the portal gun.
"Shall I?" asks Spyro.
"Up to you bro." replies Sparx before a yell and a bone crunching thud is heard.
"He wasn't a bad singer but he fell to the bottom of the cliff charts." says Spyro.
"Literary." says Sparx before Spyro put the booth back into place.

Spyro and Sparx suddenly hide. An ape is dragging a prisoner on a metal chain.
"Let me go you furry *bleep*. You have no *bleep*ing right to treat me like this!" says the prisoner.
"SHUT UP!" yells the guard before he slaps the prisoner. "Oh, a bitchslap eh, now I'll give you a REAL bitchslap." says the prisoner before a very loud slap is heard and yell of agony is heard from the guard.

"Man That prisoner has a very bad attitude. Reminds me of someone we know." says Spyro after the guard and prisoner go out of earshot.

He walks down a corridor to a room full of zombie apes with the ribs exposed.
Spyro pulls out an assault rife and shoots all the apes to pieces.

"Terridor to Spyro." says Spyro's Com-necklace.
"Spyro here, what's up Terridor?" asks Spyro.
"Good choice in weapon. The AK-47. The best choice if ya want to kill ever *bleep*er in the room. Accept no substitutes." says Terridor.
"I'll keep that in mind. Spyro out." says Spyro before he puts the AK-47 away and starts to walk through the chamber.
"It smells of butt rot in here." says Sparx as the both walk through the chamber holding their noses.

They leave the room and walk down a path.
They see a suicidal ape.
"Don't jump, Samuel. Our master will be rise soon and lead us. Do you want to meet the master we have been serving for a long time?" asks an ape.
"Do a flip!" yells another ape.
Spyro and Sparx cross a bridge unnoticed by the apes.

"MMMPHHH" says Sparx Suddenly.
"Sparx?" asks Spyro before he is knocked out by a hidden ape guard.
"Nap time purple pest." he says before they drag Spyro to the throne room and tie him to a pillar.

Spyro comes round to find a chain from a neck collar attached to a pole and he is by a sleeping black dragon
"Cynder?" asks Spyro.
The back dragon groans and it faces Spyro.
"Spyro, What the…." says Cynder.
"Quiet, traitor!" says a gruff voice.
"Kiss my black scaly *bleep* Gaul." says Cynder before she is slapped by an ape for her cheek.
Cynder slaps the ape back 5 times as hard. The ape screams in pain as he flies across the throne room.

"You certainly have developed an attitude over the years Cynder. That has no interest in me. Soon our master will rise and he will reward our loyalty." says Gaul.
"Yeah right" says Spyro.

"Cynder return to our master's service or you'll be the first to die by his hand." says Gaul.
"The Dark Master can take his offer and shove it up his *bleep*." says Cynder.
"So be it." says Gaul before Cynder flips her middle claw at him.

You can't beat me in a fight never mind rule the world." says Spyro.
A stunned Silence fills the room.
It was so quiet you could even hear a dragonfly fart.

"Release the purple dragon.
I'll take care of this insolent little *bleep*.
No one interrupt. This is my fight and mine alone." says Gaul before Spyro is released from his chain.
Gaul gets up and pulls two swords from scabbards on his back. He roars.
Spyro gets up onto his back legs and pulls out a Bat'leth sword from his wing pocket.
"Bring it on *bleep*." says Spyro before they begin to fight.

"I can't watch." says Sparx before a click comes from behind him.
He turns round to see Cynder free from her chain.
"You're certainly talented with that tail Spade of yours." says Sparx.
"Thank you." says Cynder before Spyro cuts Gaul's swords into two with his Bat'leth.

Meanwhile at the Dragon Temple, Ignitus is watching Spyro's fight with Gaul in the Pool of Visions.
Terridor walks in.
Ignitus sighs.
"Don't worry; he's well trained in combat. He'll be fine." says Terridor. "I know." says Ignitus.
A knock comes from the door. "Come in." says Terridor.
A cheetah walks in. He is wearing a red cape and quiver of arrows on his back. He is also carrying a bow in one paw.
"It's an honour to meet the Great Fire guardian. What can I do for you?" asks the cheetah.
"I've heard so many good things about you from Meadow. I would you to find a purple dragon called Spyro. You are the best tracker in your tribe from what I heard." says Ignitus.
"No problem." says cheetah.
"Take this broach; it will help you keep in touch with me. Just tap it and say my name." says Ignitus before he gives cheetah a broach that looks exactly like the one on his cape.
"Thanks. I think I saw him heading north. I'll catch up with him." says the cheetah before he leaves.

Ignitus smiles and says "I'm going to miss this place. I wonder if my holo programs are backed up."
"They are saved on this isoliner chip." says Terridor before giving Ignitus the chip.

"WARNING 12 minutes till Eclipse!" says the temple computer.
"That's that. Let's go." says Terridor.
Ignitus sighs.
"You're right. Computer activate self destruct authorisation Ignitus one-gamma-gamma-Yankee." says Ignitus.
"Code confirmed, waiting final sequence." says the computer.
"Final code zulu-1-7-5 destruct zero." says Ignitus.
Klaxons sound.
"WARNING!
WARP CORE OVERLOAD IN 9 MINUTES AND 50 SECONDS. THERE WILL BE NO FURTHER AUDIO WARNINGS." says the computer.
"Computer, run transporter program Terri one." says Terridor before they disappear in a beam of blue light.

Meanwhile at the Well of Souls, the hole in the floor where Gaul whacked it with his sword is getting bigger and bigger.
Sparx and Cynder are cheering on Spyro and dissing Gaul.
The beam is getting brighter and brighter as the moons align.
Gaul laughs. "Soon our master will rise and rule the world!" he says before he and Spyro fall through the floor.
Gaul lands on the chamber floor and Spyro lands in the beam.
A huge power surge flies through the beam as the moons eclipse. Spyro flies out all black and an evil glow in his eyes.
"Prepare to die." says Spyro before he turns Gaul to stone and blows it up. "PWND" says Spyro before he laughs evilly before he flies back through the hole.

"Spyro? Are you aright?" asks Sparx.
Spyro flies through the hole.
"OH *bleep*! RUNNNNNNNNN!!!" yells Sparx before flying behind Gaul's throne.
"Fight the evil influence Spyro, fight it!!!" says Cynder.
"I can't" says Spyro before he is knocked out of the beam. He returns to normal.
The room starts to shake.
"Let's get the hell outta ere!" yells Sparx.
"We can't the exit is blocked by a boulder and I can't shift it even with my portal gun. Furthermore we can't fly out because of the skylight is blocked." says Spyro.

"Ride out the storm and live another day!" says a voice in Spyro's head.
"Get close to me." says Spyro before he is slapped by Cynder.
"Not that close I meant." says Spyro before he glows and a crystal cover them all.
The crystal is buried by rocks and rubble.

A figure in a cape is looking at the crystal.
The figure smiles under his hood and taps his broach.
