Halo: Reach

I'm simply curious what you all think of Halo: Reach. I, personally, am
excited for its final release. I'm currently saving up money for it. The DMR
[Designated Marksman Rifle] and Magnum pistol are already my favorite guns.
The only thing I currently dislike about Halo: Reach is the jet pack.

Here is a Bungie update right from bit-tech.net:
Bungie signs 10 year deal with Activision

Hidden text

Activision and Bungie have announced a new decade long partnership which
will see Activision Blizzard publishing all of the ex-Microsoft developer's
titles for the foreseeable future.

Under the new contract Bungie will be working to create a brand new
franchise, which they will retain control of but which will be published
exclusively by Activision.

The press releases make it very clear that Bungie has not been bought out
by Activision and remains an independent developer. Hopefully that will
ensure they don't get involved in the types of problems that plagued Infinity
Ward.

"It's no secret that while the full might of our studio has focused on making
Halo: Reach, another core team, led by our co-founder and studio creative
director, Jason Jones, has already begun laying the groundwork to bring
our newest universe, stories, and characters to life," said a comment on the
Bungie website.

"Our Next Big Thing now has a concrete path, leading from our studio to the
platforms of our choosing. The business formalities are behind us. Our
Constitution remains unchanged. We are still Bungie, still independent, and
now we are free to bring our stories to an ever bigger audience."

"Once the smoke clears, all the pieces will finally be in place for Step 7.
Don't worry, though. We won't let World Domination go to our heads. We’re
gonna keep making kick a.ss games on our own terms, and since you've
been so supportive throughout the years, we'd love to bring you along for
the ride."

Re: Halo: Reach

To me, Halo went downhill after the first game. Microsoft really blew it when they took control over Bungie... Then it REALLY dropped with ODST. I am not even going to get Reach on GameFly because of it.

Microsoft had it when making Halo CE.

Halo 2 was making a story arc more out of the franchise with 3 ending it.

Reach seems to be a upgraded version for you at least of halo 3.

Anyway Multiplayer will boom and heck even invansion has me hooked.

Re: Halo: Reach

The game better be good.

If they don't nerf those grenades and vehicles, I might just wipe my *bleep* with that game. If it's anything like halo 3's online play, I'm not buying it.

Re: Halo: Reach

From what I've heard and seen so far it should be good. If not great. But that's just my option The jetpack lets you do many things but I guess your just a free target if your using it. I don't have a 360 but I'm sure it will be a good game if not great.

Re: Halo: Reach

Halo: Reach has a whole new look, a new and improved game engine, a
greater storyline with ideas taken from the past Halo's best fighting
scenarios, new weapons / weapon looks / weapon animations, new melee
[may-lee] maneuvers, imporoved vehicles, and the jet pack. There is also
the invasion game to play around with and have fun in.

Oh, and almost forgot: Forge is in Halo: Reach, and the customization of the
maps is far greater than Halo 3. I heard you can place structures and even
alter the land.

No sir. There are many Halo books, and I believe they are somewhat
following them. If not following them, then they're getting ideas from them
to make the Halo games. And personally, I'm glad they're continuing the
Halo series. They are truly doing some great work in creating these games
for us, especially as new technology is brought forth for their use
.

Re: Halo: Reach

Actually the fact there making more affter 3 IMO seems like scrunging marketing, they were banging on and on about the 3rd ben the last so then everyone gets the 3rd because it the last, them BOOM not evan a big gap they suddenly start planning more hmm

Re: Halo: Reach

It's Microsoft's most popular series. So of course they would make more. But from I've heard it will be the last game could this be true or just another rumor?

Re: Halo: Reach

I played the beta (I know online can/will change in some ways) so I like the online. The story looks interesting. In my world better than halo 3 by a long shot.

Invasion and Forge World here I come. smile

As a little informative reminder, Bungie has always been an independant
company. After Halo: Reach is released, then will Bungie join with EA.

This is the last Halo game for Bungie themselves. The later Halo games
will be Bungie and EA. But we all [should] know that EA will screw up Halo.

Like how EAxis screwed up the Sims and Spore...

Re: Halo: Reach

I heard about the Spore deal with EA, but not Sims. The only game or
game series [that I know of at this moment] EA isn't messing up is the
Battlefield series. I just hope they decide not to do the same for Halo.

Hey, we can finally play a game together on XBL. Especially in Forge. I
just wish that the HTTYD game had XBL multiplayer...
