Insomniac going multi-platform?
It's only a rumor, but...
http://ps3.ign.com/articles/107/1077373p1.html
Considering I don't have a PS3, this is good news for me.

Re: Insomniac going multi-platform?
I hope its not true...no offence 360 people but i just prefer insomniac as a PS3 exsculive due to the fact it will keep the flame wars over the ps3 and 360 a hell of alot simpler Ps3 will get *bleep*ed 360 fans will see it as a winn and then once they make multieplatform games it will be a war of "360 vertion is better!" "PS3 VERTUON IT BETTER!!!" and thats the last thing we need.

Re: Insomniac going multi-platform?
Well, that's good. Now get Spyro back and go Wii, and I'm satisfied again.
However, this will never happen ![]()

Re: Insomniac going multi-platform?
If the next Spyro game doesn't come out for the Xbox 360, I'm going to
destroy the company. With home made explosives. I will hate them. They
already put A New Beginning and Dawn of the Dragon out for 360.
[By the way, A New Beginning is up for download on the Marketplace as an
Xbox Original. I am mad that The Eternal Night wasn't released for Xbox
Original. It's a great game, and deserves to be with its brother [ANB] on
the Xbox Original.]

Re: Insomniac going multi-platform?
Well, I assume if Insomniac does do a multi-platform game, it won't be any of their previous series (especially considering they have nothing to do with Spyro anymore). If they continue any of them on another system it would probably be Resistance, though that is my least favorite of all the Insomniac games I've played so I hope not. ![]()

Re: Insomniac going multi-platform?
This would be good news for me, but like the article said, they probably won't be having Ratchet and Clank for Wii, and that's really the only series I know from them aside from Spyro. I wish Ps3's weren't so darn expensive. >_>

Re: Insomniac going multi-platform?
I thought flame wars were over.
I read an article in the beginnin of the year, I forget from which gaming magazin...
Anyways, they predicted that PS3 would finally have their moment shining over the 360 by Chistmas 2010. They said that last fall's decrease in the PS3's price would attract not just more players, but more games because they will undoubted project more sales than they have in recent recent history.
If this is true, Isomniac may be wasting their time. ![]()

The PS3's have gotten a lot cheaper lately, the problem with the never PS3 consoles is that they don't have backwards compatibility with PS1 & PS2 games, which sucks completely! Luckily I have one of the PS3's that are backwards compatible with PS1 & PS2 games.

Re: Insomniac going multi-platform?
Really? I really don't understand why they would stop making them backwards compatible. Then you'll just have to have one more console cluttering the area with power cords, etc. if you want to keep playing your old games.
I mean, I could afford the console myself right now, but I don't really think its worth it. The games themselves will end up costing well over the amount you payed for the console after you buy around 4 or 5. Whatever happened to brand new games being $30? :\ Maybe I'm just not hardcore enough to want to spend all my money on video games.

I think they stopped making them backwards compatible to stop people from buying the PS2 games (since they're being phased out anyways) and start buying the PS3 games instead. Kind of pointless if you ask me since like you said, backwards compatibility prevents you from having to keep your old PS2 running just to play older games, which can be quite a tangle and ridiculous! ![]()

While that may be true, I think the main reason is because it decreases the price of the hardware. It may be inconvenient for hardcore gamers who still enjoy PS1 and PS2 games, but it is far outweighed by the number of people who will be willing to buy a stripped down PS3 for $300.
