Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )
"Uh... did she... just wink at me?" It was odd for a dying opponent to do that sort of thing - most would continue to show some sort of struggle. "Okay, it's done."
The two other older dragons moved to observe the corpse, with Bali following along. "Well, how was the fight?" asked Marka.
"Eh... it was... easy, yes," said Serm, with some uncertainty. "Not as easy as expected, but... okay."
"That's funny, you didn't seem to take that bite too well."
"Now, we're going to carry her all the way to Dayn?"
"Well, we have to," said Jeren. "So you and I will take turns. Since you just fought, I'll carry her first."
He gripped Lumistar by the belly, eventually managing to have her on his back. "Ah, she's not exactly light... but I can manage. We should just drag her..."
"No," said Marka, "that would slow us down, and we still want her to be recognizable. We've wasted too much time already, I'm not even sure Gravius thinks we're alive anymore. Now just carry her like the strong dragon you say you are."
"Fine, but we'll have to switch frequently."

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )
Lu almost snorted, she wasn't that heavy! ...Was she? She would have to not glut herself with blood the next time she fed...
She was also acutely aware that her head was extremely close to Jeren's relatively unprotected skin, it wouldn't take any effort on her part to just bite him and drain him of his...
Focus!
Lu did so, and it took all the effort she had to remain limp even when her head kept on bashing against Jeren's back everytime he took a step... That was going to be beyond irritating.

The party of five guards were just about across the plains now, they could see the forest on the horizon. With that they descended lower to the ground, scanning the area for a group of four young dragons as they had been instructed.

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )
After almost half an hour, Jeren dropped Lumistar on her back. "It's your turn now, I'm tired."
Serm had a few lingering doubts. She was odd... Before picking her up, he felt herk neck for a pulse. Nothing. Still, he couldn't recall feeling anything while he was choking her... He listened for breathing. Nothing - but he couldn't exactly recall her breathing - talking, but not breathing. But talking would require breathing... just to be safe, he began to feel near the heart for a beat. Nothing...
He was about to stomp on her, but then Jeren reassured, "She's dead. You should know, you killed her yourself."
"She seemed... strange. Just want to make sure she's not pretending..."
"I'm sure that if she was, there would've been a reaction when I dropped her."
"Okay..."
He picked up Lumistar, carrying her in the same manner that Jeren did.

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )
Lu was screaming all kinds of profranities in her mind. Seriously, being dropped hurt more than being slashed down the back, at least when she was slashed she was ready for it!
When someone checked her over it tickled like hell, but she managed to remain quiet, though only because there was no air in her lungs to laugh on.
She felt someone else pick her up and she almost sighed; she knew that Dayn's castle was a two-day trek over some sort of massive grassland and she wasn't looking forward to being carried all that way by these two oafs...

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )
The group was continuing their journey when Marka spotted several dragons in the sky. "I see something... I think there are about five dragons up there."
"Are they coming towards us?" Jeren asked.
"I don't know. Let's just continue."

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )
The guards had spotted the group. Four individuals, just as they were told there would be. However, as they got closer they noticed that one was being carried, injured perhaps? Or maybe something more sinister? They weren't sure, either way they had to check if they were the individuals they were suppossed to be looking for, they were heading the right way for Dayn's castle at least.
In a flurry of twigs and dirt all five of the guards landed. All were young and fit and were around the same size and build as Roark had been. A blue and yellow dragon who was leading the party stepped forward to address the dragons:
"You there. What is your purpose?" If they answered correctly they would know they had the right ones.
Lu meanwhile listened with interest, though she was annoyed that she was suppossed to be dead and couldn't discreetly look around Serm's shoulder to see who had arrived. She thought about trying but decided aginst it with her glowing red eyes that would only attract attention.

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )
Jeren rubbed his eyes, some dirt had come in it. "Well," said Serm, "we are looking for an antidote to a certain poison, and we hear that Dayn might be able to help us. We have a gift for him - we believe that this was the dragoness that was causing trouble for you?"
He grabbed Lumistar again and dropped her, presenting her to the guards. "Well, is she?" The others watched with anticipation.

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )
This was the group of dragons they were looking for, that much had been confirmed, though the fact that they were carrying this dragoness as some sort of peace-deal was a new twist. The lead guard walked over to the female and turned her over, none too gently, with his foot. He had been there during the scuffle with the trespassers and, being a lightning dragon, had managed to dodge her fire fury.
At first he was sure it wasn't her; she was covered in mud and her scales were a darker colour anyway... but...
He roughly wiped away some of the mud on her still face and jumped back growling.
"That's her alright... How'd you take her down? I'm impressed."
Lumistar was just trying not to bite said guards foot for giving her a dead arm...

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )
Serm didn't seem impressed with his victory. Sure, she did do some damage, but he expected to win. His tone reflected his view of the fight (or at least the victory) as nothing special. "I took her down in a fight. The question is, how'd you NOT take her down? Especially with your numbers? It's honestly sad that-"
"That's enough," Marka interrupted. "So what do you have to say to us?"

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )
"Did she use her fire fury on you?" Another, younger guard with an attitude piped up. "I like to see you come out unscathed when-"
The lead Guard silenced the upstart with a raised wing, he would have to be repremanded at a later time for speaking out of line.
"You came across Captain Roark, correct? He has informed Lord Dayn of your quest for an antidote and the Lord himself has requested you be brought to him for an audience. Seeing as we are headed back that way we may as well escort you. Lord Dayn will also be most intrigued with the fate of Lumistar." With that he nodded to two of the biggest guards in the group, one grabbed Lu's arms and the other her legs, with powerful flaps of their wings they ascended into the air. "Follow us, we will take you straight to the castle. There is a powerful wind behind us so we should make it by nightfall."
With that he took to the air, as did the other guards. Lu meanwhile was uncomfortable, without any trees she was completely exposed to the sunlight. She kept the scowl off of her face though, at least now she had lesser oafs carrying her instead...

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )
They better not try to take credit for my kill Serm thought. Oh, well, at least they're strong enough to fly with her. The four took off with the guards, with Jeren carrying Bali. Bali never liked being carried in this matter, but she was getting used to it. The group was getting hungry, but at least they would have something to eat when night came...

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )
Dayn sat thinking as five of his finest men rearranged the room to their liking. Their orders were to conceal themselves in the room, and only emerge when they judged their Lord to be in danger. One hid inside a cupboard, one between two bookcases, one crouched behind a fireplace, and one was actually inside the sofa. The last one has installed hooks a little upwards of Dayn's window, and was planning to swing down.

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )
The next ten hours or so were torture for Lumistar. She was completely exposed to the sunlight and all of her instincts screamed at her to move out of it. However, she stubbornly ignored them. The group landed only once during the day. She didn't open her eyes but from what Lu gathered it was at some rocky outcrop where the Guards and those kids relieved themselves and drank some water before carrying on. After what seemed like an eternity Lu felt the intensity of the sunlight on her sensitive scales begin to wane; it was sunset. Her stomach lurched slightly as the guards descended.
Although she couldn't see due to her eyes being shut, Lu guessed that the castle was also surrounded by a small village which must house the servants and guards, because the scent of blood in the area became stronger than it already was. Behind her eyelids she could see the illuminations of countless torches which lit up the castle, compared to the forest it was also a very noisy area too as blacksmiths, carpenters and builders went about their work. Her senses were going haywire and she whimpered quietly to herself with the effort it took to remain 'dead'. Her whimper was lost in the sounds of the castle though as the guards landed in some sort of courtyard. Well she thought it was as she heard the clacking sound that claws make on cobbled streets.
The lead Guard turned and faced the group, nodding at a leaf green dragon to say he was dismissed. There was a sharp intake of breath from the youngest guard; he knew what was coming when he wasn't dismissed also, though he remained silent other than the gasp. The lead Guard then motioned for everyone to follow. He decided to punish the young Guard first; it wouldn't do any harm for the young bunch of dragons to witness disciplinary action at its finest. Entering the castle he first led the group to a room where a blacksmith was hard at work, shaping a piece of metal with sharp blows from a hammer. There was a puff of steam as the blacksmith plunged the piece of hot metal into a bucket of water. The lead Guard cleared his throat loudly and the blacksmith turned around.
"Why Captain Blitz sir, what a surprise!" The blacksmith and the Guard were childhood friends.
"Evening Bronzier, I trust I find you well?"
"As well as can be expected, it's been hard work lately. Although, my Lilliyana is gravid you know."
"Really? Congratulations, send her my best."
Bronzier grinned, though on seeing the rest of Captain Blitz's company he frowned slightly. "Hmm... I guess you are wanting to use my tools again?"
"Yes, if you don't mind."
"Sure, help yourself." The blacksmith then moved out of the way, heading towards the door to leave Blitz to do the punishing in relative privacy, he didn't like to see that side of his friend. "Oh, you and Aurora are invited to ours for dinner tomorrow evening, as a celebration."
"Excellent, Rora will love that; we will be there." Blitz replied as he pulled a white hot poker from the burning furnace and studied it. The blacksmith nodded and hurried away. Blitz then turned, the poker glowing in his hand, and faced the youngest Guard. "You know what is coming Ashen?"
"Yes sir..." Ashen mumbled in reply, walking towards the Captain with his arm stretched out.
As he opened his palm there were three criss-crossing burn scars; this was not the first time the young grey male had been punished in this manner, though it was the first time by Blitz's hand.
Blitz paused, studying the youngster's face; he didn't like this part of the job but it was necessary to keep the respect. In one swift move Blitz pressed the flat of the hot end of the poker against Ashen's palm. There was a sizzling noise as Ashen's flesh burned, accompanied by a sickening smell of burning flesh. The young dragon remained still, though trembling, for a few seconds before he let out a shrill scream and whipped his hand back against his chest, cradling it. Lu's tail twitched and she almost leapt forward and attacked the screaming dragon in his moment of weakness. He was weak and injured, so was an easy target... FOCUS! Luckily it was highly unlikely anyone saw her slight movement, what with the screaming youngster being the most attention-grabbing thing in the room. The Guards carrying her seemed completely bored with the situation and hadn't moved despite the shrill scream.
Unfazed Blitz put the poker back and stepped close to Ashen, the young dragon looked at his superior with tears in his eyes from the pain.
"Do not speak, unless you are addressed or asked for your opinion, again." Ashen nodded weakly. "Get to the Healer's pavilion, you're dismissed."
The young dragon ran from the room like the devil was behind him, and with Lumistar in the room he unknowingly actually was. After watching him go Blitz turned to Serm and his siblings.
"Now, let's get you lot to your audience with Lord Dayn, shall we?" Beckoning the two remaining guards and the youngsters to follow him, Captain Blitz headed out the door.

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )
"Sure, go on." Silver, who had been listening carefully, said. "I've heard of the War, yes, just a little piece of history to me, though. Didn't know you were actually in it... Must've been a hard time. But... why did the beasts agree anyway? It's that unexpected, can't be any good..."
Busa frowned and shook his head. "We were curious as to why they happily agreed too. We never thought such blood-thirsty creatures would agree to settle things at all, let alone through a battle. However, we hadn't seen what they were fully capable of. That was our mistake."
He stretched out his knee and sighed. "Training wasn't as long as it should've been - a number of months - but in that time I changed dramatically. I became much stronger, not to mention more mature. I think... I was in my late 20s when all this was going on. Still young, but it turned me into a man." He paused for a moment then continued. "Anyway, the time eventually. The army set up position in a huge valley. For a while there was complete silence. We thought they weren't going to show up. But then we heard them." Busa shuddered. "They had horrible, shrieking howls that sent a chill down your spine. The next thing we knew, they were right on top of us. Ambushed we were. And then--"
Busa suddenly stopped, placing his hands over his face and groaning, trying not to get upset.

Dayn stiffened, but he was in the prescence of his men, and he'd be *bleep* before rumours about his sanity spread about. Logically, he thought, if this odd voice is in my mind, it should be able to respond to my thoughts. Such as this one. Unless it's being childish. He wasn't entirely convinced.

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )
The group stood there in astonished silence as the young guard just stood there, taking such a punishment without resisting. Why would he even help the larget dragon hurt him by sticking his hand out? While Bali did notice Lumistar's tail make a slight movement, she didn't think anything of it - the guard was the center of attention.
All this for speaking? Marka wondered. Something seems wrong with that...
Don't just stand there! Jeren thought. Run! Defend yourself! Wait, Roark had informed them of a similar thing happening to him. Were all of these dragons this stupid?
This is somewhat my fault, Serm thought, but it's still rather stupid. Especially that sad dragon over there, not doing anything...
As the young dragon walked out, the four looked on, Jeren and Serm having more disdain for his inaction. At the end, though, the whole incident was just dismissed as an oddity of life among these people, and so the group followed without a second thought. "I want to present her," said Serm, "just to be sure..."

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )
((Seeing as things are gonna heat up soon, let's give Ophelia another post. She's only had one. Not that she can get up to much in her cell. Poor girl.))
Ophelia POV
Ophelia had sat and stared at the plate of food for little more than an hour. Her rumbling belly had repeatedly growled at her for the past few days, seeing as her appetite had deteriorated. So she'd given up her fast and had literally dived on the plate and wolfed the whole lot down. It wasn't exactly first-class food or service (not that she cared), but it was enough to stay her hunger for the time being.
Her tiny belly was now bulging thanks to the meal. Ophelia sat down on the wooden bench she also used as a bed. Once again, boredom got the best of her - there was hardly any decent entertainment while sitting in a cold, dark cell. She sighed and got to her feet, the chain around her leg clunking against the stone floor as she walked. She wandered over to the small bared window that was on the back wall. She stood on her tip-toes, craned her neck and then gasped.
"What the hell--" She exclaimed out loud, receiving some angry mutters from the other prisoners. Instead of the usual green forest view, all of the trees were stained red, scattered like snow on the tree tops. Ophelia shook her head. What's happened...? It looks like there's been a massacre in the heavens...
Her eyes suddenly widened in fear and she stepped backwards, collapsing back on her bench. She didn't know why she felt afraid, she just did. Red rain wasn't something you saw everyday. It looked just like blood. What creature do you associate with blood?
"No way." She growled out loud again. The vampires can't be back. They left after... after... She groaned as she tried to keep gruesome flashbacks at bay. She doubted she would find out what was happening, since most of the guards kept their mouths shut whatever you said. Still, she decided to keep her eyes and ears open... Just in case...

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )
"Very well." Captain Blitz then nodded toward the two burly guards and they dropped Lumistar unceremoniously at Serm's feet before walking away back towards the outside. The group was standing on the outside of a large door, which had two guards posted on either side of it. Both didn't speak but their eyes remained on the group and their hands tightened on their weapons.
Alright I take it back, these two are just as big a tw@ts as those upstarts are...
The guards on duty outside Dayn's office/laboratory both knew Captain Blitz and both put a hand on each handle and opened the door, beckoning everyone inside.
(Yeah, we kinda need Aceedwin now; they're being let in to Dayn's office.)

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )
OOC: My go? I thought we might have some form of walking in post.
Dayn's office was large, but resembled a tax office. It had papers and ledgers jammed wherever they could fit, relics from the time Dayn hadn't realised that they weren't his responsibility. Dayn himself was seated at a desk that had been cleared, a tray with four glasses upon it resting on the oak craftsmanship. On the left of the entrance was an amiable sofa and an amiable fireplace heating a maroon carpet. On the right of the door was a long table, scattered with books, notes, and one or two pieces of alchemical equipment. On the far side of the room were two windows, both a little open to allow a fresh breeze to rustle the papers.
Dayn regarded the four dragons thoughtfully, and his eyes hovered uncertainly on the fire dragon one carried,
'You killed that dragon?' he queried, carefully restricting the disbelief in his voice. Couldn't let them know he was impressed, now could he.

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )
The four gazed at the unfamiliar dragon. He was old, probably older than Gravius. His office was strange, but then again, so was everything else in this place.
"So you must be Dayn..." said Serm. "Yes, I did. We've heard that she gave you problems, and we decided to help you out." He walked forward and dropped Lumistar.
"Now," said Marka, "we need an antidote to a weapon poison that we are unfamiliar with, for protection. We were wondering if you could help us out."
Though the dragons spoke peacefully, they were prepared for the possibility that their meeting with Dayn would not go over well.

'Well, can you describe this poison in any way? I'm afraid I don't exactly come with an ample supply of panaceas.' Dayn suddenly realised just how useful these ones could be. To have defeated this young lady was certainly an achievement. A team of bounty hunters under his direct command. Assassins, rather, he thought.

"Well," Jeren began... "It's a strange paste that seems to cause the affected area to go numb and stop working. Here it is." He tossed the box containing the remaining poison at Dayn, before thinking of whether it might be proper or not.

'Hm.' Dayn said, rather clearly. 'Well, I'll run a few tests, and see what I can provide. Captain, if you might provide some form of accomodation, I'm sure our guests would be more comfortable than they are now. And Captain Blitz? If you would be so kind as to bury the body, that would be most kind.'

Lu was lying on her back, she couldn't believe this had worked! However, though she didn't know why, the suggestion of trying to bury her make her angry.
"Touch me again and I will shove your tail up your *bleep*!" She hissed venemously at Captain Blitz, lifting her head up off of the floor and narrowing her glowing red, pupil-less eyes at him. It completely blew her cover, though her new instincts were going so haywire right now...
Blitz himself skittered backwards a couple of steps in shock. She was dead wasn't she?! He opened his mouth to say something, but promptly shut it again not able to actually form words. While Lumistar's instincts were going haywire, Blitz's imagination was. After a slight delay though he realised his duty and tesned, ready to protect his Lord with his life.
"The phoenix hope, can wing her way through desert skies. And still defying fortune's spite; revive from ashes and rise."
