Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )

"Yeah, they were. Oh..." She flounched over to Serm, she was very aware that she was quite generously proportioned for the usual dragoness, so she walked 'sexily' up to Serm and patted him twice on the cheek with her palm, not very gently. "...don't underestimate me playboy. Get too cocky and your pretty head may explode and spill all of your lovely blood onto the floor..."

Yeah, she really should stop talking now...

She darted back to her original position as fast as she could possibly manage in sunlight, which was still enviably fast. She then stood there, growling almost playfully. She wanted to have some fun with these ones, the females she would leave, but the males needed a reality check and the mention of Dayn gave her an evil little idea... She pranced from one foot to the other repeatedly, holding her fists up and waving them about as if she were boxing.

"Come on boy, show me what you got!"

-----

"Yes sir." Roark said with another bow, knowing he was dismissed.

He followed Dayn's instructions to the letter and quickly. A contingent of five of the guard were soon sent scurrying away to find these youngsters and relay the message. The numbers were merely for protection and as intimidation. Roark then headed back to the Healer's pavillion, he was in desperate need of a clean-up and a rest now...

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )

OOC: Hoorah for poison!

Dayn smiled, and walked over to a bookcase., and removed three books, revealling a small chest, such as might be used to store jewellery. Incidentally, this one was not used to house jewellery at all. Instead, it contained a plethora of vials, tablets and glass spheres. Poison wasn't honourable to some eyes, but it sure as hell got the job done. He ordered four glasses of water to be brought to him, and he selected four indentical tablets to match. They weren't exactly lethal but the point was that they felt lethal. And the symptoms, were extremely painful. The antidote was relatively simple, and lay in a vial next to the tablets, but the point was, the poisonee might not know that.

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )

""Stand back," ordered Serm, "I can handle this." Jeren did as he was ordered, Moving back to the position of Marka and Bali, certain that he wasn't needed. The dragoness seemed rather confident - walking right up to him, challenging him. But if she thought that she could defeat him, then she would be very disappointed.

"Very well, dragoness. you think you stand a chance against me? You'll soon learn otherwise. I'll let you make the first move."

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )

Lu grinned, careful to make sure that she kept her huge canines concealed. The entire point of her plan was to let them beat her, but not to let them think she went down easily.

With a growl she feinted to the left, then the right before leaping up without unfurling her wings. She jumped to an impressive height, but not nearly as high as she could possibly jump, she then started to drop back down again, claws outstretched but making sure to keep her underbelly protected... not that it would matter to her if the dragon did manage to slice her open, she would heal.

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )

Serm was observing the nimble motions of his opponent. She can move fast, and jump high, but can she hit hard and react quickly? Must be one of those unmated ones or whatever you call it... He waited for the dragoness to strike, then sidestepped quickly to the left, swinging his right arm in an attempt to both deflect the blow and throw off her jump.

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )

Lu landed where Serm had been a second earlier, she still had her claws ready so she effectively 'caught' the blown from his hand in them. He was more powerful than her though, vampire or no, and she was thrown backwards. She used her momentum to roll into a backflip and land in a half-crouch.

He had more skill than her, as well as power (but she already knew that). However, she had speed and she was effectively invulnerable, though she would still feel pain. There was one thing that she was very good at before and was even more so now, her elemental attacks.

Grinning she let loose a wave of fire, which was a brownish orange colour and didn't seem to give off any glow at all as usual fire did, in fact it seemed to suck what little light there was in the area in and actually make things dimmer.

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )

The fire appeared sickly, Serm wasn't even sure it was fire. Although he attempted to duck, the wave came in too fast, and he covered his head with his left arm, blocking it. It felt like normal fire - he could feel the uncomfortable heat, but was tolerant of it. It didn't burn him. But the way it looked - was this dragoness sick?  First her eyes, then the lack of breathing that he attributed to nervousness, now this...

Oh, well. If she was, this would be very easy. He charged at Lumistar, using his wings to give him a boost, aiming for a swipe of his claws at any open place.

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )

Lu side-stepped, as much as she wanted to let him beat her around to make it more convincing she couldn't let him land too many hits on her; after all she didn't bleed. He still left a huge slash down her back, but it was shallow. It still hurt though. She used his proximity to aim a blow at the side of his head, she punched, not slashed; she couldn't afford for him to bleed or she would drain him before he had chance to scream...

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )

Serm quickly reacted, but his arm couldn't move fast enough. After getting hit in the head, he was disoriented for a second, but he but this was mostly because he was expecting a slash instead. Nevertheless, he soon came back at Lumistar, reaching out his arm, this time intending to get a grip on her - preferably her neck, so he could pierce it, but her arm would do just as fine if it gave him an advantage.

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )

(Moving this one so they can get to the castle so we can get Ophelia into this...)

Lu saw what he was going to do and weaved her neck out of the way, pretending to throw her arm up as protection so that he grabbed that instead, the last thing she wanted was for him to grab her neck and discover no pulse.

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )

Serm pulled her in, and, as he attempted with Roark, swung his arm brutally at her head, aiming to disorient her, stun her, or possibly knock her out. He believed that she was predicting a slash, much as he had when he was hit in the head.

"Keep going!" cheered Jeren. "She can't win against you!"

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )

Lu was just going to let him hit her and 'knock her straight out', but Jeren's jeering made her decide to play it out a bit longer, besides she hadn't instilled in them an idea that would get her to Dayn's castle.

She aimed to surprise him, so she opened her mouth wide and bit down hard on the hand he swung towards her, the force dislocated her jaw and then popped it back into place in the span of a second, it hurt but that was the least of her problems. She tasted blood and she almost screamed with the effort it took not to feed, she also worried that he saw her canines, but the movement was too fast for him to be sure of what he saw... at least she hoped.

(Sorry if that was a God-mod to assume he bled.)

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )

OOC: No problem.

Serm yelled out in pain, her bite was deep and was getting close to the bone. Biting was a more instinctual attack, usually a sign of desperation. He should've counted on it... she had giant teeth that seemed to be made for biting others. That wasn't his concern now (or rather, it was, but not what he was putting most of his thought in), though, and he began to react by pounding at her head with his free arm.

"You can do it!" Cheered Jeren. "Don't let a flesh wound stop you!"

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )

One...

Two...

Three...

OK, Lu'd had enough. She didn't actually use any fire, though she did charge it up, letting loose some embers to 'rub salt into the wound' before she then let go. It also had the added benefit of clumsily cauterising the wound, at least enough on Serm's fire-resistant scales so that the blood would stop and not be a temptation to her.
In order to hit her he had released her arm so she scurried backwards, staggering a bit partly on purpose and partly for real. She could stand up to a greater amount of physical attacks as a vampire, but it still affected her... She wondered if she actually could fall unconscious? That would be something to try another time. She focused before getting too distracted and growled.

"You think that after beating nearly a dozen of Dayn's guards I would just roll over for you? No chance, I bet Dayn has a reward on my dead body and I am so not giving you the pleasure of killing me..."

Now to see if they took the bait and 'killed her' to take her to the castle... She couldn't be bothered to storm it and this way would be much more satisfying, leading her straight to the man himself... Hopefully.

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )

Serm was rubbing his nasty bite wound. Not that it did anything, but it had more of a placebo effect, making him feel somewhat better. "Just as I thought. Dayn's guards are very weak, apparently, and one of them did mention a dragoness that killed many of their guards. We'll bring him your body and maybe he'll grant us our request. If there's some other sort of reward, even better."

He charged again, using his wings for a boost, this time aiming to drive Lumistar to the ground, where he planned to just slash at her until she  died. He tried his best not to expose the new wound.

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )

Lu ducked right down, aiming to headbutt Serm in the stomach and drive the wind out of him, her horns were too blunt to impale and curved backwards anyway; she wanted to at least make Serm uncomfortable with a lot of small but painful wounds for his troubles.

As she bent down the wound on her back twinged painfully, but she used the pain to tense her body and brace herself because she also expected him to recover quick and carry on slashing her afterwards or something.

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )

Due to the lack of protection he had given himself, the blow hit Serm as intended. He staggered back, amost losing his balance, and retched. It doesn't hurt... he told himself. Nevertheless, he would be a bit more cautious - right now he growled loudly and threateningly whilst doing a feint with his left claws, slashing horizontally with it, planning to slash downwards with his right.

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )

The slash downwards caught Lu on the muzzle, leaving a slash going down between her eyes and nostrils, this one was deeper than the last one and should have bled so she reacted before Serm noticed. She aimed to slash at Serm in the same way, on the muzzle; if she hit him she wanted to inconspicuously put some of his blood oin her nose so that he wouldn't suspect anything...

Pff... Fairytale? Heheh, no, I'll promise I'll take this serious. Silver answered. "After all, you need someone to tell it to. No one likes to hide their horrific past stories from everyone. It'll always give a good feeling when you tell something you'd hide for others, apart from emotional memories. At least, I always get a good feeling when I tell someone the truth..." He sat down, gave a gracefull nod to Busa in appreciation and accepted the flask Busa wanted to share with him. "Feel free to tell me, but it's your choice if you want to tell me or not."

((Yikes, I'm so late!  neutral))

Busa sighed, knowing that this wasn't going to be easy for him. His past had haunted him for years, and his hatred only grew the longer he kept his secrets to himself. He figured that telling Silver might relieve some of the pressure. Except, now, not only did he have a hatred of the vampires, but of Dayn too. He still hadn't forgotten that Nithran died because of him. And Busa didn't like frauds. AT ALL.

He took the flask off Silver once he had finished and placed it back in his pouch. He cleared his throat. "Many years ago, perhaps even before you were born, there was a huge war called the Red War. You must've heard of it. Anyway, I was a warrior fighting in it. The kingdom had been ravaged by savage, blood-thirsty beasts. No one knew what they were or who they'd come from. They tore through many small villages, killing almost everyone there. Efforts were made to track them down and destroy them, but they failed. Some of the search parties never came back. Eventually, the creatures moved on to more populous places, like small towns. Again, many efforts were made to abolish them, but like before, they all failed."

Busa sniffed slightly, and clenched his fists. After a moment, he continued. "Eventually, everything got out of control, and the councils and the monarchy decided to take more extreme measures. They declared war on the creatures, intent on returning peace to the kingdom. Of course, news of  this eventually reached the beasts, and, surprisingly, they agreed to it."

"Thankfully, the village in which me and my wife lived had been lucky enough not to be effected by the beasts. I was... young and naive..." Busa chuckled and shook his head, "...Very stubborn too. Once I decided to join the army, Iliana - my wife - couldn't say anything to stop me. I wanted to protect her and my village to make sure that we weren't next on their list of massacres. So... it writes itself from here."

Busa stopped and looked at Silver in case he wanted to say anything. "Shall I continue?"

((I hope this is all right, Rurik.))

"Sure, go on." Silver, who had been listening carefully, said. "I've heard of the War, yes, just a little piece of history to me, though. Didn't know you were actually in it... Must've been a hard time. But... why did the beasts agree anyway? It's that unexpected, can't be any good..."

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )

Serm was determined not to let his opponent land another hit on him. Deftly catching the arm, he pulled while tackling, aiming to to knock Lumistar down. He noticed that no blood was on the claws he just slashed her with.  Funny, I thought that cut was deep enough... guess it wasn't.

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )

Serm's tackle was successful and Lu found herself on her back and looking up at him. Dirt was cacked into the large but shallow cut down her back so that coulbe be an excuse for no blood, she would have to figure something out for her muzzle, but for now he didn't seem to have noticed.

Lu settled for just lying there and waiting for some sort of 'death blow'. By now she could have got up and attacked him again but instead she panted a little, pretending to be winded and dazed.

Serm brought his arm down, moving in to grip Lumistar's neck, aiming to choke her. He could just continue slashing at her but he wanted this victory to be more decisive. "You fought well..."

"As expected," said Jeren. "We always win in the end."

Re: Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )

Lu pretended to choke for a bit then gradually 'weakened'. She decided to creep Serm out a bit because she stopped and grinned at him, just showing her teeth and winking at him before she 'died' dramatically, going limp in his grip.

Now would be the hard part for her, not the fact that she had to sacrifice her sense of smell and not breathe, but because she was so close to blood but couldn't do things to put her mind off of it... Oh well, living and learning.
