Glad to finally be out of the forest and making progress, Jeren decided that now would be a good time for a break. "Well, let's rest here, relax, and eat... and while we're at it, why don't you tell us of these other enemies of yours?" Without waiting for a response, he began opening up a small bag he was carrying with him, and pulled out two makeshift wooden containers. "Letting others beat you up for protection doesn't seem like the brightest idea. If I didn't know better, I would say that whoever made it had a head full of sand..."

Roark didn't need to stop, but he did anyway. He sat down on a nearby mossy rock.

"Dragons have clashed with apes and wolves for centuries, so they are the main threat. It's all about who has the best land... The best land means better resources and more prey to support the city itself.
However they aren't the worst out there. No, by far the worst enemy the city has is other dragons; both those from seperate kingdoms and those who are renegades which have banded together. They fight for revenge, not for more land. So they don't care who or what they destroy to accomplish their goals.
It was that kind of enemy that Dayn has helped us to fight off before with his strategies, so his head is far from full of sand. How do you get your subjects to follow you? Kindness? Hardly... you can oly be so kind, otherwise you are taken advantage of. He makes examples of the Guard so that the people know what he will do; it keeps them in line. For example, you keep growling at your sister to keep her from wandering off. Why don't you just let her wander, but in the right direction? It's to keep her safe is why, its the same with Dayn and his punishments."

Silver followed Busa, searching for Lumistar, but secretly also a bit for Ophelia; he missed her, and her father gave him the courage to continue his search. "You've got anny idea where Lu is, at all?" he said, keeping his eyes focussed on more footprints.

Jeren opened the lid of both containers, one of them holding some honey, the other with various nuts. Bali was given food first, a handful of nuts with honey poured over them. The others took their share in the same manner, and though their meal was meager, they were sated by it.

"We're not re- err, yeah, right. You see, the difference is, we don't need to maim each other to cooperate. Would you like some honey?" Jeren offered. Serm gave him a dirty glance, but he ignored it. It was part his share he was offering, after all. "There isn't much left, but you can have it. Where does it come from, anyways? Delicious, and doesn't spoil..."

He presented the container with honey. A mouthful or two was left.

"Do I look like I know?" Busa continued forward, not taking his eyes off the ground. The footprints were still there, but they were starting to fade and it was hard to see where they were going. "I feel like we're getting nowhere." He sighed and leaned against tree. "I must rest." He gasped, slumping to the ground.

"You are family though, it doesn't exactly count compared to working with strangers. And no thank-you, honey doesn't last you long when travelling, I think I'll hunt before we get too far from the... wait" Roark back-peddled a second. "You don't know where honey comes from?!"

"Is that a problem?" Jeren guzzled the last of the honey as if it were water. "Not everyone knows everything. Where does it come from?" He sucked on one of his fingers to get the last bit of honey off.

"It's a problem because my children are less than a year old and they know where honey comes from, it's found everywhere, all dragons should know! I've kept looking the other way and politeness has kept me from asking, but where have you been brought up? You don't seem to know how your own society works and although I doubt you mean to do it, all of you keep being extremely rude." He gave Jeren a pointed glance after saying that. "You've got absolutely no chance of getting anything from Lord Dayn if you keep it up, especially with these displays of arrogance that you are showing. You all seem to think you are better than everyone, and you certainly aren't."

He then turned his head towards the forest again and sniffed a few times, listening for rustling sounds. He picked up what he was looking for in no time.

"If you will excuse me, I will be right back; I have heard some prey..." He then headed towards the deep forest without waiting for an answer to his earlier comment.

(After Roark has hunted I'll timeskip, but we kinda need Aceedwin because he's got Dayn running around after Busa and Silver at the moment.)

Of course we're better than you... Jeren thought, but he kept his thoughts to himself. How hard can this be? he thought. Just ask for the antidote, and respond appropriately.

"Hold on!" Serm ran up to Roark. "Would you mind if we watched you hunt? I'm just interested in how someone like you would go about doing it..." The others followed along.

Roark was about to ask if they even knew how to hunt, but he held his tongue.

"Very well, but for God's sake be quiet."

He then took off into the undergrowth, in a half-crouch and running lightly on his toes. After a minute or so he came into a clearing with some small bushes and a small patch of grass in the middle. In the centre of the grass was a single rabbit. Without a word he flared his wings to make sure the youngsters didn't follow before he slunk through the bushes towards the unknowing creature. When he was merely a few feet away the rabbit sat bolt upright with its eyes wide. With a small growl Roark leapt at it.
The move was extremely subtle and only experienced hunters would notice, but at the last moment he opened his wings very slightly to deliberately slow himself down. The rabbit had started to run while he was in mid-jump and he only just missed it. The rabbit screamed and shot into the undergrowth, with half of its fluffy tail left in Roark's claws.

The others did not know what to say. Instead, they decided to whisper amongst themselves while waiting for Roark to make his next move.

"So... what do we do now?" Jeren asked.
"Make him feel better," replied Marka. "He thinks you're being rude."
"Me? But-"
"You spoke to him the most."
"Okay." He then turned away from the others. "Congratulations on your catch!" said Jeren with feigned sincerity. "You're an excellent hunter, if I do say so myself!"

Roark blinked at him.

"You really do know nothing abut hunting do you?" He said while flicking away the fluff. "That scrawny little thing wouldn't be worth wasting energy on, it's not filling enough. I'm not finished yet. Now follow me, don't talk but make as much noise with your feet as you can; we want it to lead us to it's warren."

Saying no more Roark crouched again and used his sense of smell to guide him. He ran headlong through the bushes, rather than run around them he ran through them, making loud rustling noises. Eventually he came to a kind of mound in the earth, there was a single hole in it. He lowered his head right down to the floor and walked around in increasingly large circles, sniffing all of the time.

Bali wanted to investigate the hole, but Jeren held her back. "Wait..."

Serm guessed that this was where the rabbit was hiding. "So how are you going to get it out?" he asked. "Smoke? Or maybe you'll bury it and dig up its body... wait, why are you walking in circles?"

"Not it, them... Where there's one rabbit, there's many. They also have more than one entrance to their burrow..." He said as he filled in a burrow entrance he found, on his next circuit he found another and filled that one in too. After a few minutes he had filled in all but two, which he left open.
He then came back to the original one in the mound.

"When the rabbits start coming out, hit them over the head with your tail; they're so small it will kill them without them suffering... Adrenaline isn't a very nice flavour. Six should be plenty, we don't want to wipe out the whole warren, there'll be non for next time."

He then disappeared to the other side of the mound. He took one deep breath and then exhaled, releasing a cloud of smoke into the warren.

"So how many of them are there? Dozens? Hundreds?" Serm asked.

"Well, I guess I'll try." Jeren moved to the end of the other hole, ready to give anything that popped out a fatal blow. He had plenty of experience in this, and he was quite confident they'd be successful. "Come on..."

A pericing scream that sounded so familar to Busa and Silver echoed through the forest. It was female, but it wasn't Lumistar

Busa immediately got to his feet, despite a good deal of leg cramp. The scream was clearly female, and whoever it was was clearly in a great deal of distress and pain. "Lu!" She was the first suspect who came to his head. He gave a quick glance at Silver before limping off in the direction of the sound, his blade drawn.

One after the other about two dozen rabbits shot out of the burrow like the Devil himself was after them. All were screaming loud and behind the mound even Roark winced; there were more than he thought in the warren and the noise of all of their screams put together was quite loud.

"Remember, just six! If you can help it do not hit females with bald bellies from suckling their kits, we don't want to kill off the warren!" He shouted over the noise.

"Why does it matter which ones we kill?" Jeren asked. One of the rabbits he had already struck down with a blow of his tail seemed to somewhat match that description. He had sent it quite a distance back "Examining them takes too much time..." He swung his tail and sent another rabbit flying, this one different in appearance than the one before. A third one got past him, but soon he had six downed (two which were of the type Roark said not to kill) and let the others escape.

While it was impossible to see really well, the female had white scales and some blue spots on her body from the angle they were looking at.

Busa stopped and stared at the dragoness before him. She was partially hidden by tree branches, but he could see that she had snow white scales. Just like Ophelia... She was facing the other way, and her back was covered in dark blue spots. Just like Ophelia!

Wait a minute... He thought, stopping himself from running towards her, This is very coincidental... While his heart fluttered with excitement, he decided to be cautious, just in case it was another nasty trick from the vampires...

He swallowed and brushed the branches out of the way and approached her. "...Ophelia?"
