Darkness of Blood (A Dark RP )

Lu had heard the name 'blood dragon' mentioned before, when she was learning under the same master as Nithran in fact, a year or so ago. However, it had only been a mention, it was a kind of taboo subject...

"What are the blood dragons?" She asked while getting to her feet, the way Busa had stumbled and seemingly nearly passed out had worried her.

Busa took a few deep breaths to try and subdue the dizziness. He regained his posture and turned to Lu. "Blood dragons... They are demons. Vile, bloodthirsty creatures with a desire to kill. Nothing more..." Horrid memories flicked through his mind. One was of his banishment, all those years ago. The other was of him watching helplessly as morbid creatures slaughtered his friends in the war, one by one, while all he could do was watch. "I must sit." Busa gasped, slumping against the wall.

Still worried, Lu sat down next to him. She was glad that Busa's herb had helped to take away the pain; she could barely feel her ribs.

"How were they defeated last time? I've only ever heard a mention of them."

"Ugh... How can they be back?" Silver knew a bit of the Blood Dragons, but not very much. Only that they were the nightmare of everyone, like pure evil creatures, and that they were defeated one time before, but not how and who did it. "I thought they would never dare to come back..."

Busa started to feel a little better once he had sat down. "They lived thousands of years ago. When I was a lot younger, I fought in a war that lasted several years, and it was atrocious. I'll never forget some of the images of what I saw..."

Busa felt sick as he had more gruesome flashbacks. He swallowed and continued. "They were eventually overthrown in a rebellion. But I fear that the war I fought in had something to do with them." He sighed and rubbed his head. "I'm just guessing, by the way." He said. "But I just fear that this red rain has something to do with them. However, I may be wrong, and I hope I am."

"We all hope so, I guess. But the first signs are negative." Silver said, leaning against the cave walls. "The rain is as red as blood, and nothing feels right."

As soon as Busa heard the growl and scream, he was immediately alert. He got to his feet and drew his blade. "Stay here." He said firmly to Lu and Silver. He didn't want to lose them too...

Lu did as she was told, she wanted to follow, but was too tired to do so. On top of that she didn't trust herself, she didn't want to go into another rage and... kill... anyone else.

Busa stood in the bloody shower, holding his blade tight and scanning the area carefully. He DEFINITELY heard a scream and a growl... Perhaps his old ears were playing tricks on him?

Dorfl felt the claws bite into him, and was thrown bodily across the ground. He lay on the ground, motionless, after a brief coughing fit.

Jeren was about to finish his opponent with a slash to the throat, but had to restrain himself. He still had a job to do, and intended to do it. "Don't die yet..." he muttered. "Where's Dayn?" he inquired out loud. "As you could probably tell, my claws were poisoned - we need to talk to him about the poison, where it can be found, and any possible antidotes." He wanted to make this quick, as he began to note the chill the alien rainstorm brought to him, and knew that Serm didn't really tolerate the cold well.

As Gravius was being car by the red dragon, he began to notice the eerie rainstorm. This isn't normal rain... he thought to himself, as he was too weak to want to waste energy by speaking aloud. His food was drugged somehow, to keep him too weak to do much besides feel and think, and he had to be force-fed, so much was his loathing of being a prisoner. It's red... like blood. He decided that it was just some trick that whatever he was being fed was playing on him, and decided to go to sleep.

Dorfl attempted to choke out a few generally vulgar words, but merely spluttered embarassingly, and sneered. He could still kick, and he just needed Jeren to come a little closer...

Jeren was not in a patient mood. "You will tell me," he threatened, "or I'll find a puddle of this... liquid... drown you in it, and feed your body to animals." He remembered hearing somewhere that many people found this a disgraceful way to be disposed of, so he decided to add it in. "You'll die all alone..."

Busa straightened his posture. Perhaps he was just hearing things. He was getting old after all. But still...

Without letting go of his blade, he turned and re-entered the cave. "I don't know if you heard that," he said to Lu and Silver, "But nothing seems to be out there..." Nonetheless, he stood in the cave entrance, facing the forest and clutching his blade... Just in case...

"Very well, then, you leave me no choice." Jeren was searching, his eyes roving from one place to another, for a suitable puddle. Once he found one, he began to grab for Dorfl's legs to haul him there.

Dorfl kicked hard at Jeren's face, and scrambled up. He considered trying to end the fight, but decided to find back-up. He could have taken them if it hadn't been for poison. What self-respecting warrior used poison anyway? He sprinted away, ducking under a crumbled doorway.

Dayn examined his vial of rain carefully, and sniffed it lightly. It smelt strange, but not like blood. Not like normal blood, at least. Perhaps it was an illusion. But when an illusion is cast upon the stage, Dayn thought, there must be a conjurer to summon it.

Before Jeren could do anything to react, he had already taken a kick to the mouth and reeled from the blow. It was a strong kick, too, for he noticed that he had the taste of blood on his tongue. How suitable... he thought, it's almost as if I'm tasting the rain. He had lost the dragon in question.

"Oh, well, Gravius is going to have to wait a little longer," he said aloud, "and might as well get Serm out of this rainstorm. I'd like to see that dragon aim any lightning with whatever this stuff is filling the sky." His own voice, during the eerie rain, was reassuring. He moved over to pick up Serm, and felt just a bit of pain whenever he shifted weight to his right leg. "I should've cut at that dragon's leg's, though."

He began to ponder about respecting the dead. He remembered what Gravius said in passing about barbarians finding it disgraceful to be eaten by scavengers instead of buried. It was something he considered ironic. Getting eaten would actually be a good use for a dead dragon, wouldn't it? It would give them one last bit of use, and would pass on some of them to the many places the animals would go, while being buried seemed rather selfish, isolating yourself from the rest of the world. Why did it matter, though? Once you were dead, nothing mattered.

After a while of searching, he found some pieces of rubble that created a small shelter. He rested Serm there, rubbing Serm to keep him as warm as he could.

Busa tapped his foot and never took his eyes off the red forest. He was certain - he HAD heard something. "I'm going back out." He said to Lu and Silver. "Something isn't right. It's too quiet out there." Gripping his blade tightly, he wandered outside into the forest as the red rain stained his brown scales.

Busa felt sick and sweat drizzled down his forehead. I'm too old for this... He thought, turning on the spot and scanning the forest. "Anyone there?"
