As Serm fell on the ground, he began to regret not practicing more with the dagger. However, he was determined not to let Jeren fall, too. As he laid on the ground, he focused some more heat into the grip of the dagger, to make it intolerably hot. The wielder would certainly have to drop it. He was feeling an odd sense of déjà vu...

As soon as Jeren saw Serm disarmed, he prepared for the attack. The attack wasn't well aimed - he was capable of gripping the wrist of the attacker, and tried to sink his claws in as the grip heated up. Wielding a weapon meant that one would most likely focus with the arm that held it - Jeren tried to get another swipe at his opponent's face with his other claw.

Dorfl felt the dagger heat up, and reacted, throwing the knife at Jeren. He managed to throw up a hand to catch the incoming fist from Jeren, as well, although having to leave himself open in the process.

Silver said as he summonned a strong gust of wind to get Dayn off his back, then he rose up in the air a little bit, making a screw-like movement, keeping his eyes on Dayn. "You killed Nithran, now you gotta pay for that."

Jeren quickly pulled back, and was grazed by the dagger near the neck, though the wound wasn't deep enough to cause anything more than minor numbing. He panicked for a moment, but soon realized that he wasn't cut very deep or anywhere vital. The dagger landed somewhere behind him. He stood waiting for the attacker's next move.

While Jeren was pulling back, Serm was still trying to recover. "Gravius is counting on me..." he muttered to himself, and he let loose a breath of fire in the attacker's direction that created a huge smokescreen as well. He was really pushing himself now - but he had no intention of telling Gravius of how they had failed.

Dorf realised that he might not be walking out of this fight alive. He was mismatched and outnumbered. Feeling the heat from the fire that was erupting behind him, he dived forwards, pushing Jeren down, and jumping over him. He then tried to pull himself away, so that he could get a little ground between them. He needed to get away and form a plan.

OOC: I can't keep up my habit of not mentioning names if my characters haven't heard them. It's so impractical.

OOC: I can keep it up for the first few posts after meeting a character, but when the meeting gets drawn out and they still don't know each other's names, I give up.

As he fell, Jeren quickly grabbed the dagger to deprive Dorfl of it. He then moved to check on Serm. When he stepped towards the smokescreen, however, Serm berated him.

"We still have an opponent... go after him! Don't worry... I just need some rest..." he said, softly, still not getting up.

Jeren then handed Serm the weapon, and ran towards his opponent, thankful that his experience in running across sand made running across solid ground much easier. He used his wings to give him a boost for a tackle, with a move in mind should his opponent avoid him.

Dorfl gripped a handful of sand and threw it into Jeren's face before diving to the left. After all, honour was all very good, but so was keeping your blood. One might even say it was even more important.

Jeren cried out in rage as the sand flew into his eye. He began rubbing his eye with his left arm, and swiping at the air with his right arm, trying to hear where Dorfl was.

It was no use. Busa's fingers just crackled uselessly as he ran out of energy. If only he'd practised his Electricity skills more often than his physical ones...

Physical. He realised that although he was slow, he still knew a thing or two. "I'm sorry." He whispered as he stood up and left Nithran. He did all he could...

He roared loudly, and as it echoed over the now-battlefield, using his wings he darted forward towards Dayn. "MURDERER!"

When Jeren opened his eyes again, they were bloodshot. He saw Dorfl with periphery vision, and though he didn't have time enough to brace himself, he decided to take a swipe at Dorfl while he was coming in for a tackle.

Dorfl gained a nasty stratch on his chest. Not life-threatening really, but it would scar. The scratch made Dorfl kick out hard, straight at Jeren's legs.

Dayn dropped, and rolled towards Busa's legs. Unconventional approaches just meant you had the advantage of experience.

(Am I right in thinking that there are now four fire guards, Dayn and Dorfl left? Correct me if I'm not.)

Dayn's earlier kick to Lumistar's abdomen had been successful, but she was a bit angry to bother about the cracking sound that occured, though she would later. However, she was sane enough to use the momentum of the kick to duck out of the way of the three other guards who had surged forward.
She dove at the nearest one, all mercy gone she shot a largish sparkler right at his face. She was so infuriated, that her sparklers were hot enough to harm even a fire dragon, well, if it hit his eyes at least.
She followed her fireball on, intending to attack the guard she fired it at whether the sparkler fireball hit him or not.

OOC: Yes, but Dorfl is seperated from the main group. Your attack killed all non-fire guards. Dayn's a fire dragon, the lucky sod.

The guard Lumistar had attacked flailed wildly, blinded, but one of his friends launched into a stereotypical flying kick, howling for no obvious reason.

Lumistar managed to get maybe two scratches on the sparklered guard before she heard the howling of another guard. Her forepaws covered in blood she turned around and went to bite on the guard's outstretched limb.

(Lol, the mental image of a dragon flying through the air like some sort of Jackie Chan is amazing. And Lu is in a bit of a fury at the moment... Even if her timing is right she'll lose a tooth or two. XP )

Jeren felt pain surge his right leg as the kick made its mark. His leg, however, was not crippled beyond that. He feinted with what looked like an overextended left claw swipe, planning to pull off a right claw swipe when his opponent dodged to avoid this obvious move.

Serm was lying patiently on the ground, watching the battle. He refused to fall unconscious or sleep, in case he had to do something, but he didn't feel strong enough to do much at the moment.

Dorfl hooked his arm around the overextended limb, put a hand on Jeren's torso, and tried to flip him to the floor.

Dayn sprang up skidding backwards, and building up a handful of dirt as he went. He lobbed it at Busa's face, and ducked in closer, preparing for an uppercut.

The guard Lumistar was fighting winced, and tried to slam his leg into her face. Another troop had seen the action, and was hurrying in, hoping to take Lumistar by suprise.

OOC: Like master, like pupil, right? I just like throwing dirt at people's faces.

Lu used the momentum of the guard trying to slam his bitten paw into her face to throw him back and over her head and once she had done so blood ran down her chin then dripped to the floor. More of it was her own than the guard's, she had lost at least five teeth and had bitten her tongue. But that action left her open to the next guard charging her. He knocked her over and onto her back but she wasn't much fazed and continued biting, scratching and snarling at him like a rabid dog.

Jeren, thinking quickly, grabbed the arm on his torso with his free hand, trying to pull the other way, when he got an idea. He instead decided to push away, to where Serm lay. He rubbed some of the poison of the dagger off on his claws, awaiting Dorfl's move.

Busa roared as dirt was chucked into his eyes, and as he tried to get it out, Dayn tackled him to the ground. In pain and half-blind, he roared again and blindly slashed his claws in Dayn's direction.

However he stopped when he heard a low rumbling. He staggered to his feet and managed to clear the dirt from his stinging eyes as the ground shook slightly. An earthquake? He thought, turning round and shouting to Lumistar and Silver. "Brace yourselves!"
