Re: James Cameron's Avatar

The story was predictable as hell, but I did enjoy this movie. I would definently get this, as the effects are great, and the characters are actually somewhat developed instead of your sterotypical heroes.

Re: James Cameron's Avatar

apparently it's predictable and cliché but very showy. I might see it if I have nothing else to do.

Just for some reviews:

Re: James Cameron's Avatar

As I know from reviews, the storyline is not that good, but surely not bad.
But the effects seem to be wonderfull and extremely good. I wanna see it for sure wink

Re: James Cameron's Avatar

I saw the movie on friday and i loved it. It is worth the 3 hours and you have to see it in theaters. it is much more enjoyable in a theater with the epic surround sound. it is also in Imax theaters and if you have the chance you should see it there. it is an amazing movie. I gave it an 8.2 in the CGI thread and i'll give it the same here. the dialog was somewhat bland and there were some cliches but it was stil amazing. I deffinetly suggest seeing the movie in a theater if you can.

Thoughts, ideas, and planning for 15 years, but actual production was about 4 years.

Its not that bad. its predictable but it isnt bad. Its slightly cliche like i said before but i still like it. It took him five or six years to make it i think. He could have come up with a better story in that time but i guess all his time was taken with all the effects.

Re: James Cameron's Avatar

I greatly enjoyed this movie. The new 3d cameras that he created were exelent. I would sugest if you see the movie DO NOT WATCH THE 2D VERSION, even though it makes your eyes hurt. The vivual effects were the best I have ever seen in a movie. The only bad part is the plot was highly predictaple, but it had many great and adventurios side plots. overall I rat this movie 9/10

The movie was amazing, but yeah, predictable plot. 9.5 out of 10 for me.

I've seen it today. The graphics are just the best ever made, very cool. Also, how they made up the world, etc. Looks cool, and I really do not know what some guys are talking about when they say that the graphics were good but the story sucks, because that is not true. The only negative point of the story itsself is that it was very predictable. Nothing else. Every little detail was perfect, seriously nothing broken in the 3D and Pandora just looks like an amazing planet. I just started thinking that it would be nice if we had a Leonopteryx here...

I must also say 9.5/10. Every must have seen the most expensive film in the world.

Re: James Cameron's Avatar

The story is Dances with Wolves meets the Last Samurai in Ferngully.

It's predictable, it's clishe, it's seen a million times and it SUCKS!

I don't give a rat's *bleep* for how awesome the effects are a story this lame for a movie that has been hyped as the second coming of cinema is unexceptable!

P.S. The 3D didn't do anything for me, I forgot about it after first 10 minutes...

So much about that...

Re: James Cameron's Avatar

I sincerely liked the movie. I wouldn't use the word "loved" because I can
only love a human. But I am wishing I could livein a place like that. The
movie was beautiful. And also, it makes me want to hate humans.

Humans seem to not care about the important things ... just machinery
and destruction.

I took this one myself ...
