You're kidding me right lol....look at the human race today and look at things like Star Trek...you seriously think that mankind is going to invent something in the next three years that will allow them infinate space travel and the ability to settle people on other worlds lol....yeah not seeing that when we still don't have "hover cars" lol......maybe in around 500 years or so if we have not killed each other by then.

I joke on this subject all the time. I haven't read the whole conversation yet but I'll post all that I know about the topic from my mind.

Date & Time: 12-21-2012 @ 11:59:56 A.M. (IDK what time zone. Probably N.Y.C. time)
Why it will happen (leading one I have seen, I've seen 3-4): Earth, Sun, and Center of the Milky Way (A black hole) align in a line.
What will happen: Anybody's guess. Last time this happened cavemen supposidly began writing on cave walls.
Who predicted it: Ancient Myans said the world would end for the 5th and final time on that date and time. They even ended their calendar on that day. They were big on the study of the skies but they thought that the stars were gods too. A few other 'oricals' supposedly also predicted 2012 to be the end. Also recently scientists have also found that (as said in why) would happen at that same tme.

I laugh at this prediction though. I'm partualy religious and in the bible it said never to predict the end but to live eneryday as if it were your last... (That's why I say don't clean your house or anything unless you care how it was when it was incinerated! smile )

People like to contemplate the end where as I prefer to contemplate tommorow and the things I can control.

Wall-e? Never seen it.

Planet X? lol. NO!!! It doesn't exist. The shift in the outer planets was explained by dark energy & matter because we are at the outside edge of our galexy. (The Milky Way) Also the Ort cloud has been blamed too.

In three years we'll find life on a planet called Earth then we'll travel to it. That's as far as we're getting in 3 years. NASA's affraid to even go into space after the space shudle disaster I think. Anybody know how many launches we've had since then?

We haven't even been to the moon since Apolo have we?

I havn't really been paying attention to it lately lol...but yeah their is no way in our lifetime that we will find other things out there or other lifeforms...even a planet x.....I have to laugh when I see the movie Armageddon....watching these shuttles go through every single freaking piece of razor sharp asteroid...then land safely again on Earth?...yeah right....one of our shuttles explodes if one little tile is missing.

Anyways yeah I agree with most of what you said. Live every day for today...if it happens it happens...but in the end I could really care less.

Ok, first of all I don't watch Star Trek, but I've seen a preview for the movie.
I'm not talking fully armored laser equipped warships leading a fleet of space fighters out of a warp bubble.
And there's a reason why we don't have hover cars, think of the accidents and the gas mileage. You could go about a hundred feet for one gallon of gas.

Space Colonies were supposed to be made by next year, but it's obviously not going to happen. There was a little book I read from my old school's library written back in the 1980's, and they said that they were supposed to exist by now, or be near completion. Well, they aren't. One things for sure, I would NEVER go up to live in space. I'm staying on earth.

People from back then thought that there would be things like flying cars in this period of time. There isn't. The future will be just like this.

Yeah that's pretty much what I meant. The meaning of the Star Trek reference was simply to say that we are nowhere near accomplishing any of the things that many thought would be accomplished by now. Things like that are just not in any hurry of being accomplished thanks to many other factors that contribute to society today.

Personally technology has its uses and its flaws...I just want to live my life the best I can every day. Anything else realy doesn't hold a candle to that.

I actually did a report on the 2012 doomsday for my thesis.

Anyway, here are the hard facts:

1. The Mayans, the Orion code(or Orian, I forget), the old version of the bible, and Northadamus predicted something is going to happen on December 21st 2012 at 6:18 (not sure what time zone or if AM/PM), but their views are different.
2. The Mayans predict that the entire human race will go through an instant evolution of mind.
3. The Orion code suggests we will be gaining heightened senses and full control of mind (maybe we will gain the other 90% of our brain power).
4. Northadamus says that the world will fall into complete anarchy with starvation, and war.
5. Northadamus predicted 100 things that would happen up until 2012, including the birth of 3 antichrists (Napoleon, Hitler, and someone not born yet). So far, all his predictions have come true.
6. Sol will line up with the galactic core, causing massive solar flares.
7. All the planets (and our moon) will align on that date, causing the Earth's magnetic fields to temporarily weaken 0.03% (that is actually a normal amount).
8. Nibiru (Planet-X) will come within 1 AU of the Earth, which will cause an icy meteor shower that will burn in the atmosphere.
9. The Mayan calender just so happens to end on that date.

The Mayans were an ancient Mesoamerican civilization who were famous for their calenders and skywatchers. They practiced astronomy every day, and they have come up with the world's most accurate calender that ends on that exact date.

Northadamus was an alchemist, occultist, philosopher, and some say he was a psychic. He has come up with the Northadamus code, which contains over 100 predictions that lead up to 2012. They included the birth of 3 anti-christs (Napoleon, Hilter, and someone yet to come) the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and the Middle-East wars. He even predicted the exact date of his death. After his death, in 1700 he was dug up, and strangely he was wearing an amulet that said 1700 on the front.

Nibiru (Planet-X) is the 4th-9th planet from Sol. It has an oribit that comes around Sol closely, and then goes way far out beyond Pluto into the Kuiper Belt. It comes this close only once out of (around) 600 years, and only gets near Earth out of a few thousand. It is around 8 times the mass of the earth, and is thought to be made out of ice. Because of it's speed, it will send hunks of ice towards the earth, but will most likely burn up before reaching the ground.
