Hmm, that would be nice to have two different types of Spyro games. But, in all honesty, I don't think Sierra could really bring back what made the original Spyro so fun. I'm still hoping for that though.

Re: Will there even be any future Spyro trilogies/game series coming?

Yeah...that was the thing that worried me about Sierra and the old games if they ever tried to go back to them..honestly I think that they would really butcher them...and that's not what I wanted to see....if you are going to try something with Spyro try something new...and that's what they did...if they had tried to use the old series in any way I think it would have been much much worse.

they cant go bac unless they make the professor make a teleportation device that can teleport him to where spyro is and tell him they need help and then cynder will finally meet flame and ember who r together and it would become a 4 player co-op (sweetly awesomely cool ) then they  all transport to the place where spyro trains then spyro shows them to the dragons city so they can find somewhere to go then something happens then all 4 have to live with the gaurdians

Re: Will there even be any future Spyro trilogies/game series coming?

They shouldn't connect the two games at all...and I don't think they ever will...not after all the freaking fuss they made about being seperated from the originals and wanting to make a seperate world and face for the Spyro series.

Very interesting and fun to think about however.

Re: Will there even be any future Spyro trilogies/game series coming?

Id rather want them to continue with the originals. Tlos wasnt very good in my opinion, not worth continuing. The series isnt even "solid", all three parts are very much different from eachother. That might just be a minor point why they should stop tlos, but it disturbs me.

XRedDragonX, you cant see ratchets face when hes writing his post, so you cant assume wether hes angry or not. I didnt sense any "raging" in his post myself. Youre just trying to bash him because he highly disagrees with you.

Okay..this was so inept I guess I just had to respond lol...first of all I'm not even going to get into the LoS debate with this...seeing as how their are plenty of other topics in which to do that...everyone has a different opinion about which series is better and that's how it will always be, but Sierra is pretty adamant about not returning to the older games...and until they either give up the rights to the character or someone buys it out they will stick to their plan and run with their own ideas.

Now I don't know why you had to make that nice little side comment about Ratchet..seeing as how I said that about 2 months ago or so...but no I can't see him and he can't see me...I can only assume...and if you want to speak up for yourself and disagree then do so instead of piggybacking on comments made by the other members...for as far as I'm concerned I respect him quite a bit more the most...and I enjoy debating with him over the certain subjects. He voices his opinion and I voice mine...but we do our best to do it in a respectable manner.

Sometimes emotions run high or what not and we can assume how people are reacting. You assuming that I say that just to bash Ratchet shows just how little you know about debating itself. I disagree with him on many issues as he does with me...but I don't intentionally bash him or any other member, for that isn't very moral and that's not the person I am. Like I said before, if you want to make a case about it then show up in a debate and do so...instead of throwing in these little side comments that really have nothing to do with the matter at hand.

So you are better than me when you use all your free time debating on the forums? I dont have time to fully participate with the debate going on here... And why cant i comment to your posts?

Sorry for the off topic...

Re: Will there even be any future Spyro trilogies/game series coming?

I didn't say that you couldn't comment to my posts. I want you to comment to my posts directly instead of always sneaking one in there off someone else's comment.

If you are going to argue the point about something then bring it up on your own and throw your ideas into the discussion. I am not saying that I'm better then you in any way...but I am calling you pretty simple minded for assuming that I am bashing Ratchet when all we have done is had heated debates about many topics.

Both he and I have done plenty of your so called "bashing" for both sides to feel it...but I still have good respect for him and his ideas....and I would do the same for you so long as you speak your mind and give your own ideas.

Don't try to turn this around on me because I'm clearly stating my mind on how I feel about it. I never said I was better then you...and I never bashed Ratchet in an intentional manner. Get more involved if it bothers you so much.

Re: Will there even be any future Spyro trilogies/game series coming?

There will be more Spyro games, everyone! Don't worry! Here's proof!

Will this be the last Spyro game or are there plans to make more after this finale?

Without a doubt, there will be more Spyro games in the future. The entire purpose of the trilogy was to re-establish the characters and the world in a way that would allow for growth and expansion.   We’ve only scratched the surface.

I believe that's what Chris said before the game even came out months ago...and if I'm not mistaken...in the same questionare someone asks him what is gonna come next...and he said that there might be more after DotD...with that nice little might thrown in there we can only think that they were gonna wait and see just how DotD did before making any decisions...

But yeah...I'm pretty sure that their will be more games to come...and I'm guessing that it will be sometime after the movie.

Re: Will there even be any future Spyro trilogies/game series coming?

personally i'd like them to stick with the legend of spyro series the charachters are better than in the original although i haven't actually played all 3 games yet in the legend of i have played all the originals and so far the legends far better with a much greater depths of the charachters

the only problem i can foresee with continueing the legend series is getting a new villain although the 4th game could be about dealing with the remnants of malefors armies

Yeah that's very true....coming up with a good villain will be critical for continuing the story....seeing as how they do want to keep going with these characters...it's time to think of something away from Malefor. Three games of him was more then enough.

Fingers crossed for making something like the old ones. I don't like Sierra/Vivendi. They're not good developers, even with other games, Naughty Dog and Insomniac did a FAR better job.

Re: Will there even be any future Spyro trilogies/game series coming?

So long as Sierra owns this series they are gonna keep going with their formula. A return to the older games would be against everything they claim to stand for...even though they should include more elements....an effective combination of both styles in gameplay and story would really do wonders for a future game.

But since they seem so diehard on their current methods...don't look for anything to change soon. I would prolly die of a heart attack first...but you never know I suppose...

Re: Will there even be any future Spyro trilogies/game series coming?

Hello everyone, I'm a new guy to this forum, so this is like my second post. But anyway, I can't really understand why so many is so keen on going back to the old games. I mean, sure, I liked them too, they were awesome, but personaly I think I've outgrown that shallow and incoherent (hopefully the word means the same thing I do) style of game that the old ones actualy were. This new style of game with emotional depth and a coherent (still hopes I and the word agree in meaning) story. And *spoiler warning* in difference from the older games I got really toutched in the end when the last thing Cynder says is "I love you". And I tell you all, I was on the verge of crying when I tought that Spyro and Cynder had died. Man, Dawn of the Dragon really toutched me.

Well, in short, I think that I at least would prefer them to continoue on the new story, and I wouldn't appricaite at all if they went back to the old style. That's my meaning in this.

Re: Will there even be any future Spyro trilogies/game series coming?

Well it's an open forum...and some fans simply prefer the older ones over the new in terms of actualy gameplay...not so much the story....some people just appreciate what the older games stood for....and that was a very involving and entertaining fantasy world that any player could just kind of pick up and go with. That to them is how Spyro was meant to be.

Now I'm certainly a fan of the old games...and I enjoy the new series just as much....that's just my ability to adapt to the changes made through my imagination and enjoyment of the franchise as a whole. Basically I don't care what they do with the series so long as it continues...for I am more then willing to give anything a try.

Does it betray the classic spirit of Spyro?...Yes......and no......for they do try to continue the games for the overall success that the first games brought about with the character...simply doing it through their own means. In the end....I'm a fan of the franchise...and I will gladly argue for both sides of the debate.....but in the end it's out of our hands....all we have are assumptions and feelings to guide us.

Yeah, but Malefor is a tough act to follow, any villain weaker than him will just seem silly in comparison, and it'd be hard to explain the existence of someone stronger.

Well...I think that if they managed to use what little imagination they have they could come up with something lol.....I wouldn't mind a story that had maybe Spyro himself as the villain.

Well yeah, I Never understood why so Many TLOS fans are so attached to the story. As I find the story very mediocre, and hard to relate to. But at the same time,  It is very easy to understand why Sierra went for such a story As it was the kind of story that was screaming out to be done, no matter how crappy they made it.

Re: Will there even be any future Spyro trilogies/game series coming?

They are attracted to that story like you are attracted to the older games. No use in trying to understand it...it's just the preferences we have as gamers and individuals.....that and to many who are at the age I was when I first started playing Spyro...they see this as the only Spyro image in their mind...so no wonder they love it just like the older fans prefer the old games.
