There's plenty of good things that Sierra should do, But they should startg with picking up their act.

Re: So three years?
I am anticipating that you like tlos: Excuse me? The whole tlos series has a very dull and predictable story, and the failed attempts of making it feel "epic" can be seen throughout the game. I only got a slightly rewarding feeling when i killed massive groups of enemies with my combos. No one can like tlos because of its story, or they are completely brain dead i say, imho.
Come now, was that comment really necessary? I'm glad you have your own opinions on it, but please don't go and act like its what everyone must think. Also please don't judge if they do like the story. What special right do you or anyone else have to judge another? I never said the story was great but, to me, the story was alright. It was enough to let me continue playing and watch what unfolds; It grabbed my attention. Yes, the story does have a lot of holes but sometimes you need to look past some of them to at least see what they were trying to make of it. Nothing is ever perfect, friend.
I made this topic to find answers on little things that might of been answered somewhere else in which I haven't seen. I never intended this to start fights about what they did with the game models or start name calling for enjoying a simple storyline.
I know i shouldnt reply, but i will:
A fight? What? I was just wondering how you could like tlos' story. Yes, do you even know the purpose of forums? No? A place where you can distribute your own opinions with another people! Yes, and you ratchet, this WHOLE topic is in the wrong section.
And now i will say something to do with the topic so you cant pick on me:
An explanation for things makes the game more interesting, it is very lame for them to just answer every time "LOL ITS MAGICKZOR XD!!!!!!!! WE DONT NEED TO TELL YOU!!"

Re: So three years?
Well heated debats are to be epected in just about every topic lol...this was just a perfect example seeing as how I did notice something rather strange and pointed it out...then someone gladly disputed it lol...that's just the way things are..esepecially since many will find any excuse to involve comparing one series to the next....this just gives them a reason.
Sierra did what they believed to be something that gamers would like to see...and trying something different was the plan the whole time..hence you get something that is going to be heavily disputed..seeing as how it's both different and against many fan's thoughts.
Even though LoS had some very weak points...I think they would have odne a worst job had they continued with the old games...and I couldn't bear to have another one of those butchered.

Re: So three years?
I think they would have done far worse had they went on with the older series. The Insomniac games were fine...but after that it was just horrible...at least to me...but nobody will ever put pride into it like Insomiac did...being their mascot character pretty much..until they decided to go a different direction.

Re: So three years?
Sorry I'm not feeling that lol...AHT was better then ETD...but it still killed my overall appreciation for the work done before...I would easily play ANB or TEN over it..

Re: So three years?
I'm sure if they tried to mess with the older series of the games then some major issues would come up among fans . They are classics and have the right to stay the way they are. Before playing the newer series of Spyro I was a rather *bleep*ed person seeing them, to what I believed, destroying an awesome game series and turning it into something far worse. Now that I see they weren't that bad (Even though they could of put a LOT more time into it) I don't think they ruined the game that much. I'd much rather see Insomiac pick the game back up though. The first games are what really made me fall in love with the Spyro series.
In other news, I think we should continue this talk in the Insomiac Vs. Sierra. This topic has gone off topic. xD

Re: So three years?
Well I don't see them doing anything that involves the originals...I think they will leave them just how they are...because that's how they deserve to be left. Unless Insomniac somehow has the urge to retake the series once more...which I highly doubt...things will stay in the past for the most part.

I'm guessing you mean in The Legend Of Spyro: The Eternal Night?? If not, ignore the rest of this.
Well, from playing the PS2 game I don't remember seeing Gaul leaving by a door in fact... **Spoilers**

Re: So three years?
Yeah I don't know what part they are insinuating...there was nothing like that in the PS version...so I assume that it was in GBA or something of that sort..

Re: So three years?
Yeah..they really could have improved things in TEN drasitcally...but what are you gonna do...I didn't see any of that stuff in the game....but I did hear that the GBA version of the game was done pretty well...so that must be where this idea is coming from....because it certainly isn't the PS version.

Re: So three years?
Yeah..but as for the whole three years stuck in the crystal thing....idk but to me they were simply frozen in time...so they couldn't age. That would be the realistic approach...but of course Sierra claims that they did age...and even changed their entire appearances to merrit the idea...but just more of those stupid plotholes that they really did a poor job with covering up...they better improve on such ideas.

Re: So three years?
My questions are this. How do you grown while frozen? They were almost like frozen in time. My other question is, if they don't know its been three years why doesn't it shock them that they are bigger then before? Thanks for reading.
Simple: they didn't grow. The game itself shows this. If you compare ANB/TEN Spyro and DotD Spyro, especially when you see him standing beside Ignitus, you'll notice that they are the same size in comparison to Ignitus in both versions. When Spyro and Cynder are freed from the crystal, we see that they really were frozen in that one moment of time.
The reason they look older is solely due to the art style. The developers claim the dragons have aged so they can fly, but if you paid any attention to ANB and TEN, you'll remember that both of them could fly then, too, just not when under the player's control. EL changed the entire art style of the game and that's what's made the dragons look older. If Krome had stayed with the games, Spyro and Cynder probably would have looked the same.
So, story wise, the dragons have not physically grown. They are chronologically three years older, yes, but physically and mentally, they're the same dragons we grew to love in ANB and TEN. They just got a new coat of paint when the developers were switched on us.

THANK YOU RAZZ...for once somebody also made the same obvservation that I did lol...and someone actually supports it
...I also make these points early on....they are the exact same scale in these games compared to the larger dragons then they were in previous games...so they didn't really age the design was just altered...and the fact that Sierra went with the ploy that they had grown older was just another one of there attempts to bolster sales.

Re: So three years?
Pretty much. The change in art styles is actually one of the biggest let-downs for DotD for me. It doesn't even feel like the same game. The art is beautiful, yes, and I wouldn't have minded if they'd gone with that style for the movie or the next game, but it's really jarring to suddenly change your entire art style after two games (in the same storyline). The constant voice actor changes were bad enough. And, as I knew it would, the change it art style is causing serious confusion.

Re: So three years?
Yeah that's true....but it would have been really interesting to see how the game would have been with the same artstyles present in ANB and TEN...personally I don't know if it would have been as good...but then again we will never know....but changing the art style was really confusing for some...and it just made things worse for Sierra..seeing as how they already screwed up with loopholes and such...but I suppose that it could have been much much worse...
