Yeah, but if he didn't, how would he collect all the eggs and stuff? They're not personal rewards. And usually, he just completes the tasks and someone gives him something; he doesn't actually ever ask.

yeh i know u said u cant get them any other way but there is if u just go around finding the items like in the original spyro with the gems and eggs and also finding the light gems in a heros tail

No there isn't, because those characters have the items. How is he going to find them lying around if someone else has them? =/

That's how games work, dude. It doesn't mean the character is "selfish". -__-

i only said meant he was a little selfish ur making it sound liek i h8 him and anyway u do find items lying aorunf like in spyro 2 and 3 wiv teh orbs in spyro 2 and in spyro 3 some of the eggs u gotta find and actually spyro 1 as well cause there r ledges where u have to collect gems and those life statues so not all the people hav teh items u find them as well

Yes the old Spyro was quite cocky, just not as cocky as AHT Spyro. He did do the whole "yup, I saved you, I'm awesome" thing but I really don't think he was selfish at all seeing as he cared for his friends. There was no personal gain in getting the eggs back in YotD. In Ripto's Rage, he could have been perfectly content after defeating Gulp, but he decided to go look for Elora instead and then help everyone out. When Bianca shot that spell at Hunter, Spyro got quite angry and chased her. He also worried about Hunter's whereabouts at the end of YotD.

Really, most of the time he's just rewarded for his efforts, he doesn't really ask for it. In Spyro the Dragon, he mostly just craved the attention.

I didnt mean that he was selfish i was just saying that u can find items just as well as getting them of people u gotta do jobs 4 and i would ask 4 attention if i was the only tiny dragon about in the original game

Uhh, yeah, you said that right there.

He could find some of the items lying around, but that doesn't change the fact that some characters already have the items, and he has to get them from them. He can't just say, "Oh, I can't take that dragon egg you're offering me for helping you; that would be selfish."

I saw an ad on TV when it was first coming out when I was like... 5 or 6 years old. I got a cheap demo somewhere that let you play one or two levels in the Artisan's homeworld and when you went to the hot air balloon guy he plugged the real game.

So basically I found him myself. Interestingly enough I never saw an ad for the sequels until after I got them. I was just at Wal*Mart one day and saw Ripto's Rage chillin' there.

ur twisting wot im saying and anyway he is meant to try an get items off people to help with a bigger task as well as finding them lying around i was only saying that earlier he was acting a bit snobbish by expecting items to help some1

How am I twisting what you're saying? You clearly said before that he was selfish, and now you're just changing your mind. I think it's you that's twisting your words.

As I've already explained, he doesn't ask for people to give him the items. He helps them, and they give them to him. And even if he had, it's not "snobbish" to collect items that are necessary to complete the game/save the world.

When did I say you can't find items lying around? I do not recall making such a statement. I do remember saying, however, that you can't find some of the items lying around.

My dad bought it for my sister and I when we first got our playstation. The first one I ever played was Spyro: Year of the Dragon.
Then I played ripto's rage, the spyro the dragon. THEN a Enter the Dragonfly, then a Hero's Tail. I never played the first two of the legend of spyro, but I looked up the story online, then bought dotd. I love it so much! It's my fav. spyro game so far! My second fav is ripto's rage. (or Gateway to Glimmer)
