The Games were beautifully made, I loved them, but I only played the Second one and the Third one......After the ending in DotD I entered the frey in writing Spyro Fanfiction...

Re: Your opinion on the TLOS games
I love the trilogy, and in my personal opinion they are like one step above the original, one small step. Mainly because I liked the storyline better, and I feal that they don't count as a spyro game but as a sepparate series themselves.

They aren't terrible, but Spyro was definitely better as a platformer instead of action.

DotD was definantly not my favorite. It was a fangame, and nothing more. Infact, Iam begining to wonder if it is just a fanfic in disguse.

Re: Your opinion on the TLOS games
I must be the odd one out because DotD was my favorite of the series, they did things in that game that I wanted them to do since the first original spyro came out, and they did them pretty good in my opinion, the 2 player could have been better though.
to spyrogirl101 I keep trying to say tlos should not be considered from the same series as the original spyros. They could have changed Spyro's name and it wouldn't have made the slightest difference toward the tlos series.

Re: Your opinion on the TLOS games
Not really...everyone has their own opinions on it. I don't like DotD that much but enough to keep my content. Gameplay was bad but I can take a good story to back it up once in awhile.

Re: Your opinion on the TLOS games
Prepare for a rant. And RedDragonX, don't reply saying, "Well, we all have our own opinions lol... yeah, but I agree, the originals were much better."
I despise TLoS. The gameplay is horrific, there are far too many clichés, Spyro and Cynder are Mary-Sues, and it is just overall not fun. Not to mention DotD was a huge disappointment.
I'll start with the gameplay. First of all, the controls aren't smooth. The camera was okay in the first two, but I could not stand it in DotD. The lighting is just awful - I can't see where I'm going half of the time. And all the fighting. I cannot stand button-mashing. TLoS is simply too easy. Walk, fight, walk, fight, collect, fight, walk, cutscene, repeat.
Now for the clichés. The hero discovers he has special powers, or is different in someway, and goes on a quest to find his "true destiny." He is, of course, accompanied by his trustworthy companion. He meets an elder, who is the hero's father figure, and he offers the hero wisdom. Then hero meets someone of the opposite sex who becomes their love interest and also has several damsel in distress moments. The hero defeats the big bad boss and celebrates. Then, the hero and his love interest become separated, so the hero goes on a quest to find her. His love is captured, so he defeats another big bad boss. They are put in a life-threatening situation but the hero, of course, saves their lives. They then meet an ally who accompanies them and gets them involved in more quests. After they perform several pointless tasks the father-figure dies while helping them on their quest. After thirty seconds of mourning the hero confronts the main baddie and obliterates him. Then the hero and heroine confess their love for each other and live happily ever after. Now, doesn't it sound like you've heard this before?
Mary-Sues. What are the qualifications of a Mary-Sue? Well, they must have hackneyed mannerisms, special powers, lack noteworthy flaws, and be ostentatious. Check, check, check and check. Now I shall sit here and wait for a Cynder fanboy to come rushing to her defense.

Re: Your opinion on the TLOS games
I thoroughly enjoyed the TLOS series... I wish they'd been a little quicker to learn from their mistakes in each game though. They never quite found the perfect set-up in the trilogy but they kept stumbling in the right direction. I'm hoping on the next game everything will click and they'll create a masterpiece... Rather high expectations on my part, but I think they can get there, and hopefully they will before much longer.

Re: Your opinion on the TLOS games
i just played TEN and DotD (almost finished, but not yet, and im out of console again....) honestly, i liked both.... i only think it could be much better, but its fine for me...
for the last 3 days (wich is the time my friends rented his ps2 for me) i only ate 1 time, sleep bad, missed 1 class.... XD (i was tryin to finish them before my time runs out, but i couldnt snif...)
DotD, in my opinion, is very cool and me and my friends had so much fun playing it.... ok, the camera sux, and the maps could be less linear sometimes. the controls are ok to me, easy, but the flight could be better.
I only think that TEN have too much "matrix efects" on it... and the maps are too much linear... the controls and camera are ok...
I had read a lot about TLOS games, and some people really hate it... but now i have played them, i think they are fine, but, again, they COULD be better. Of course, they have absolutly nothing to do with the original games (and i still preffer the original ones), but i think theres nothing wrong in making something different sometimes.

Re: Your opinion on the TLOS games
Just my personal belief, but saying a story is cliche is an excuse not a reason.
If you go by that logic there is no longer a single story in the world that isn't cliche.

Re: Your opinion on the TLOS games
Ever heard of the Hero's Journey Archtype, I've read a lot of books and none have not had that archtype in it, I do want to point out though that the Hero's Journey Archtype doesn't mention having to have a female love interest though. TLoS uses this Archtype and yes it doesn't add much to the initial tale unless you're willing to look into the story deeper then, I believe you are, however, I am not going to debate this issue any longer, because I used to debate against it, so I think you can see where I'm going with that lol.

Re: Your opinion on the TLOS games
It is very difficult to write a (good) story without using a single cliché. But when a game has nothing but clichés, it isn't interesting. It's just another game that makes up the giant broken record of gaming.
Oh, did I forget to mention that the hero obtains some "uber dark powers" and does things he regrets?
Ooh, I've got it. I'm going to write a story about how Spyro turns into DarkSpyro (it's such a creative name) and kills Cynder. The rest of the story will be about him staring at the moon, regretting what he's done as "What I've Done" plays in the background.
