If you own the Activision Company
What happens if your the owner of Activision, what would you do?
For me, I would get rid of Call of Duty, and make the Spyro series, Crash series, and Tony Hawk series (second game ever) to become higher popularity, and mention the games at E3 instead of not saying about it and only mentioning the Over-rated c***.

Re: If you own the Activision Company
You'd get rid of the most popular series of the last few years to focus on an aging series, a series that's pretty much dead, and a series that has been completely outplayed by the opposition (bonus points for figuring out which is which). Also, you're going to "make [my favoured series] to become higher popularity.
You would be fired from the board within minutes.

I wouldnt cancel Call of Duty. The company would be sued. And i would focus alot on the Spyro series (for my own fun). What would you consider over-rated?

Ok, too extreme, I won't get rid of it, I'll lower the focus on them.
As for Over-rated, to this day, people still won't shut up about Modern Warfare 2.

I don't like Call of Duty just as much as you do [same or more], but
without Call of Duty, those punks would get on Battlefield, [the upcoming]
Medal of Honor, and other more realistic and tactical games. Call of Duty
is for people who have no sense in what real sniping is, what a team is
truly meant for, and what a warground is supposed to be like.
We need Call of Duty so that the unwanted players can be on that, while
us Battlefield veterans can enjoy our Battlefield game. Right when I saw
C.o.D. fans [some even with MW2 gamertags] get on Bad Company 2, I
got really *bleep*ed. All they do is ruin the Battlefield and Medal of Honor
gameplay. I'm pretty sure a real sniper [scout] doesn't sprint around an
area "quick scoping" people either. A real sniper finds a tactical hiding
location, and waits for the right shot to come, with the inclusion of
adjusting the shot for the bullet drop. That, and the Call of Duty freaks
crash all of the air vehicles due to having no sense in flight controls,
because they're used to the AI controlling the jets and helicopters after
getting a "kill streak."
I need to stop before I go on an "anti-Call of Duty" rampage.

Oh noes, a person who has played and liked a game I don't has joined my game.
Swaffles, do you think anyone hated on Timesplitters because you teleported into random spots and could be a fishbowl robot? No. Because the idea was to have fun. COD is just the same thing with its legs on more firm, modern ground. But it's still about fun.
I play MAG quite a lot, and it's interestingly tactical, because your spawn locations are fixed, and your positioning is fundamental. And it's very satisfying to sneak round and cut down resistance in one short volley. But there's also an inherent excitement when you rush a base alone, knowing full well you're going to die. Or playing last man standing against an onslaught of twelve people. With shotguns.
The point is, shooting games should not be all lumped together. Some are skill-based, the winners being who is fastest to the trigger and most agile with the aim. Some are more tactical, the winners being those who understand their opponents the best.
Expecting the worst of people because they like a different type of shooter to you is as stupid as assuming some who plays street fighter will consistently crash in burnout.
Balance achieved.

Haha, EXACTLY what I was thinking.
What's applied is the "it's all about me" thinking as opposed to "it's about my company" thinking.

I'd get a better developer to make Call of Duty, and cancel all of the Guitar Hero spinoffs and release sequels every two years so it gets old much slower.
Yo, Spyro
I'm really happy for you, but Jazz Jackrabbit is one of the best platformers of all time.

I'll agree with Clocky on this. Rock Band and Guitar Hero have gotten old
already, as I see it. It seems like they went too far [mainly Guitar Hero
branch-offs] with creating games with different ideas such as "DJ Hero."
But I still play Rock Band. Well, I play it rarely, but still play it.

I'd personally work on Spyro. Fix all the problems with Modern Warfare update it and make it have slower releases. I'd also stop making them have too much control over companies and have better relationships with others.

Re: If you own the Activision Company
Yes. Looking at EA from then and now. They've certainly benefited from giving their developers more freedom like Dice creating Battlefield and Medal of Honor or BioWares Mass Effect trilogy. They simply let the developers work their magic unlike Activision which wans to release a Call of Duty title every year. Which will ultimately make the game old in a few years. EA learned from its mistakes and Activision will have to do the same.

About 90% of the people I met on C.o.D. had the "screw you I will Pwn all
you losers" kind of attitude. On Battlefield, you have a lot more
recreational people on it, along with the number of tactical people. But I
admit that Battlefield still has its small share of those C.o.D.-like players.

I'm a C.o.D player, and I don't go "I will pwn you all!" Unless I'm playing C.o.D against other C.o.D players. Everything else is like "<insert swear words HERE>".

Re: If you own the Activision Company
The private matches were fun in Modern Warfare 2. All of my friends, who
were on-line at the time, would join with me in a private match, and play
the largest map. We would have a 2-on-2 tactical fight. Of course, I was
always the rifleman with the silenced Fabrique Nationale FAL [Fusil
Automatique Leger] with the ACOG attachment. I would stick with my
buddy Olympious 1 as he used his SA M21 with a silencer.
I am very happy that Bad Company 2 has a semi-automatic SA M14, and
the legendary SA M1 Garand. I love using semi-automatic rifles, and Bad
Company 1 didn't have any. So I was excited to hear that BC2 has them.

Re: If you own the Activision Company
MW2 takes NO SKILL to play. They made it so that anybody can play easily, but so that no one can get very good.
I think they should drop the unlockables system and return back to the style in the first CoD and UO, since that is probably the best online FPS game ever made, right on the list with BF, TF, and
Other than that as a change, I would probably re-release the old Spyro and Crash Bandicoot games with improved graphics and controls for the new consoles. But afterwards I would still have the Spyro/Crash teams focus on the route they're already going.

Re: If you own the Activision Company
First, I would buy Infinity Ward completely and give the company as a gift to Bungie (ok, I'll give it to them half off).
In return, Bungie would continue to make good shooters that are focused on entertainment instead of accurate-to-reality realism (that is not redundant it is not). I like being able to find ammo and guns on the ground, as well as switches to activate, and vehicles to drive. If Activision owns Agent 9 (from Spyro 3), he'd probably be the star of the game.
Then I'd buy rights to Bucky O'hare, Jazz Jackrabbit, etc., re-release the originals, and make a true sequel to Jazz Jackrabbit 2 (JJ3 was never completed, and JJGBA lacked continuity)
Then I'd either:
1. Slow down the "[music-related word] Hero" franchise to a biannual release schedule.
OR
2. have the games advertised as "volumes" (Guitar Hero Volume 1, 2, etc.) so people wouldn't feel ripped off due to a lack of added features.
Yo, Spyro
I'm really happy for you, but Jazz Jackrabbit is one of the best platformers of all time.
OF ALL TIME!
