Does anyone want the old Spyro games back?

we all love Spyro
the classic games are what started it all
the new LoS games are good but don't you think they changed his look for no reason and the game play?
sure the new combat style might be appealing to some but what about those who want the old classics back? don't you miss the simple attack of ethier charging into enimies of just by useing your flame breath?

the classics were simple but enjoyable, why is it that we don't see Spyro in speedways anymore?

i know that now in TloS dawn of the Dragon Spyro can now fly and that is an awsome ability but don't you miss the old style games?

please reply and tell me what you think.

I do like the straightforward game play of the old games better but I also like the scenery, art style and story of the new games. It seems more. . . grown up.

I wouldn't mind seeing a graphics update of the old games, though. That'd be pretty sweet.

As for which I prefer? I don't. I like both equally.

I wish they would just mix them. Such as, having the world of LoS with the charming humor from the original trilogy. Just for example

I think it would be cool to see a mix, like Rurik mentioned before. Keeping the same characters that they have incorporated in LoS with more gameplay like the originals would be pretty cool in my opinion.

Well i have my old spyro games, but i like the new spyro games cause the combat is much better & more tough, fits me better, but what RDX & rurik said if they could keep Los spyro & the characters but mix in the old characteristics of the old games like a bit more mini games with a bit more free roam with portal travel to different worlds i'd think they'd have something there, & there has to be some type of online play too.

I abhor the TLOS series, simply for taking what made Spyro iconic and memorable and just turning it into shovelware like the games of other once great franchises these days.

Insomniac didn't have anymore ideas for spyro remember? They were planning on giving Spyro a gun. And because they couldn't do anything new with Spyro, the team wanted to do something different. Even if the Old Spyro came back, it will probably be like AHT with no portals to different worlds and realms, and a different music composer.

Insomniac dropped Spyro because he wasn't flexible enough. I believe the quote you are looking for is "[Spyro] couldn't hold a gun or anything..."

Anyway, I'd like to see a hybrid between the two series as well, perhaps with the gameplay and scripting done classical, and the scenery done by whoever did DOTD, that French company.

Estranges Libellules? It would be great if they actually did a mixture of the two, like collecting gems in the LoS universe and anything else that would be appropriate to the franchise from the Old Spyro games.

yeah in the Los universe, gem collecting, free roam ( thats a big one ), & i really like the combact in Dotd. i will admit there were more enemies than anything, but i don't mind that but for those who think it was excessive then they could add much more mini games. & fix the camera & use it like spyro 2 riptos rage where u can choose active or passive mode. i truly think EL should make the game cause graphics were beautiful & if they had the time to work on it & fix these issues then spyro would be back on top.

Where the heck can you find normal gem collecting in DotD? And with normal gem collecting I don't mean gems that keep appearing to give you abilities, HP or MP?

Yeah, any collecting is nearly impossible in LoS seeing as it's linear and the only way to go back to an old level is to replay the whole game. >.>

As you probably all know, I far preferred the original games, but a blend of the old and new might get me interested in the series again. I don't know how this would work, though, since they're completely different in almost every way imaginable.

obviously there would be different color gems representing money gems. & i meant they could incorporate this in the new game. The storyline would leave off where Dotd left off maybe but it would be less epic, a bit more game play than story. & i don't mean bring back old spyros story line or world just some characteristics from the old game. like the gems u collect for money could be used to upgrade abilities & use to purchase use of objects. portals to different realms if another world needs u them travel through there, & it would incorporate into the story well cause spyro can use magic. something like only a purple dragons magic can activate these portals to other realms, it wouldn't be that hard to incorporate, the past games were epic enough that u would be able to put them together & say that fits well. if activision is taking 2yrs to make a spyro there must be a reason why they are taking a long time.

Id rather if they returned it would be the old universe and gameplay, except with some tlos stuffs thrown in. The TLOS storyline as in a backstory, The combat introduced in TLOS, The story darker.

The TLOS combat can go, I prefer his old form of combat. The melee thing can just be a skill Spyro can get by progressing through the game.

Yeah, i guess so. Id really like levels like misty bog, where its easy for you to kill enemies and speed through, but its also easy for enemies to kill you. Make levels like taht except longer

If they are going to mix the two games (Original Trilogy and New trilogy) then the only thing that I want from TLOS is characters, breathes, secondary breathes, and that's about it... As for story, I don't mind the story being serious, but I want it to take a back seat throughout the game... I miss how the stories were serious but... whimsical in the original games.

Like getting all the dragon eggs back because the sorceresses was going to take there wings to be immortal... a little serious if not ridiculous but that's what made, to me, the third original Spyro game great and second, and first.

I really prefered the very open, immaginative, varied universe of the original trilogy as well. TLOS's universe just seems....boring and unfun. and as for adding chracaters from TLOS to the original spyros. ignitus, Cynder yes but i really cant think of anyone else taht would help. possibly mole-yair?

Hmmm... hmm Sure, I can see him as some leader for the moles, and possible the Professor knows about him or simple knows him... but I think Mole-yair's brother would be more comical and interesting... not saying that they can't both be in it, but yeah I found Mole-yair's brother far more amusing... I sure do make it obvious that I've forgotten his name, no tongue ?

However, I think all the Elders from TLOS can be useful... to some point.

Cynder... I'm going to sound like a broken record here, but, Anti-hero Cynder FTW wink . That's the only reason why... not for the cliche match up <_<.

Im going for a "history repeats itself" I made a continuation of the original timeline called "the gate of sacrea" where spyro must destroy an evil dragon called "aeris". The twist is that once you beat aeries, you not only find out shes working for someone else buts real name is cynder. Thats when Ignitus (who is now the chronicler) summons Old spyro and tells him that the signs have come and the dark master will arise again.
