I am currently depressed because some wise guys on youtube think they can critisize my opinions. I made a request to yearofthe and got a -1! FOR REQUESTING!!!!!!! That is the one thing I hate about youtube!!!

The reason why the +1/-1 is to weed out bad comments.

But who cares if I got -1?

If I care about it so much, then I would never go to Engadget.

You shouldn't take ratings too seriously Cynder794. You'd be in for a rough ride if you always become "depressed" by the negative ratings you've got.

If it really hurts you that bad, just make another account and give the thumbs down a thumbs up. Then it'll be back to being even. :-P

the only thing i don't like is bad quality (still like it though) but i really dont care if they give me a +1 or a -10.....yah....

I'll try to explain why crappy quality:

If you take a magnifying glass to your monitor, you may see tiny colored squares that make up the picture. This tiny squares are called pixels.

Resolution is how many pixels the monitor has. It is measured Width multiplied by height.

Regular PC monitors run at a resolution of 1024x768, sometimes even more. Widescreens like mine run at 1280x800. This high resolution gives the picture a high quality. The lesser the resolution, the crappier it is.

The reason of all this bad quality is that Youtube videos has a pitiful resolution of 320x240. Compared to a monitor, the video has a lesser resolution.

And since YT compresses the video even more to save server storage, it sheds most of the quality.

you make me sound like im stupid XD, but your statement is true. I also understand that youtube is the largest video site on the internet, but seriously >< stage6 (now closed T_T) was much more preferable for me, veoh as well, though i admit youtube has a much larger selection.
