PSP Help
Ok so I have some questions about the PSP slim. I found out the other day that you can put Playstation 1 games into your psp. Ok so I was able to transfer the Spyro the Dragon game data to my comp and make an eboot file of it for it to be playable on my psp. Ok I did everything, put the file into the correct folder gave it its filename for it show up on the psp and everything! I even see it on my psp, with the thumbnail image and background music playing, but when I select it, it says "The copyright protection information is invalid" WHAAAAT!?!?!?!
I'm really confused. Everything was fine until I came into this part. I was hearing all this stuff about a Pandora's battery (which I don't have) and custom firmware. I have the latest version of firmware I guess. It's the 3.71 one, but it came with the psp. So I'm guessing you need one from the Internet or something? I'm really confused. I REALLY WANT SOME HELP! It would be much appreciated.

Re: PSP Help
Well see, I've also heard of downgrading it...but I'm afraid that might do something to my psp. It's the only one I have and it cost $200! After all, I was able to do all this from someone who made it easier to do by not installing all these programs and stuff onto your psp. so yeah...i'm not sure if I should downgrade *confused*

Re: PSP Help
I have a PSP.
The "Copyright" thing is a kind of protection Sony built in the PSP to avoid the games getting pirated.
You have to downgrade it. I don't know how because I don't do it yet.
Be careful because:
1. One of the steps is making a "Pandora's Battery." This involves modifying the innards of the battery by disabling the EEPROM. This is dangerous because THE BATTERY WILL EXPLODE on your face if done incorrectly. When I read that, I chickened out.
2. You can "brick" your PSP by incorrectly, effectively turning it into a useless paperweight.

Re: PSP Help
Custom firmware allows you to play ps1 games of your own, using tools found by using google.
I know of a site where you can join for free and get ps1 iso's from it.

Re: PSP Help
Well you see EternalNight, I'm so confused on the whole downgrading thing. I mean, is it a requirement for you to play ps1 games? Because I look for topics on how to downgrade your psp and they seem like a dangerous thing to do (and confusing). I just wish there was some way of playing ps1 games by not downgrading. And that Pandora's battery is STILL puzzling me. Which is required for being able to play the ps1 game? I got everything right and the game file's in my psp...I just need that last piece of the puzzle figured out...
And where is this site you were talking about?

Re: PSP Help
I too am confused as how downgrading actually works. But I know that you can play ps1 games, no matter what firmware you have I believe, bought from the playstation store.
The site is called pspiso.com

Everything is funny as long as it is happening to somebody else.

Re: PSP Help
That's why you have to make a Pandora's Battery to downgrade and smack the copyright.
