Please Click If You Live In The UK

I am a huge fan of Studio Ghibli films and I want to buy their latest release Tales From Earthsea. The only issue is, due to the fact the Sci-Fi channel made an Earthsea movie in 2004, the anime-version from Studio Ghibli cannot come out in the U.S. until Summer 2009 (at least). I really want it now. There is two releases of it: the Japanese language release and then another release that has English language on it. If you've seen any Ghibli Film - Spirited Away, KiKi's Delivery Service, Howl's Moving Castle, My Neighbor Totoro - then you might know Pixar, makers of Finding Nemo, Cars, Toy Story and Ratatouille are the ones who record the English language dubbing for these animes. They did the dubbing already, for the UK/PAL release so I plan to get it now instead of waiting two more years. However, to get it on ebay I have to get it from Australia which would cost $42.00 USD and to buy it from an online UK store would cost $47.00.

The cheapest site I found it at is play.com

This site will deliver it to anywhere in Europe but not anywhere outside of Europe - for free! Being as I'm in the U.S. I cannot get it - even if I pay shipping. They only deliver to European countries.

The DVD itself is $19.97 USD or £9.99 pounds at the play.com site.

That's the cheapest I can buy the DVD outright. Most other sites are charging $30-$40 USD for the DVD before shipping.

So, that's why I come to you. This may sound awfully silly but I would like to try to work it out with one of you UK residents (or really, any European residents) to help me get this DVD.

Here's my plan - I would buy the DVD for the $20 and have it shipped to your home. You'd have nothing to do with the payment of the DVD. You could then ship it to me in the U.S. and by way of pay-pal or similar I could reimburse you.

To have the DVD shipped to me from Australia on ebay would be $14.00 - so to get it from UK would be cheaper. Either way, I would be paying less than the rather pricy $50.00 USD for this film.

Am I totally crazy or is someone willing to work with me on this to get it done?

Please help.

Re: Please Click If You Live In The UK

I know this is an awfully strange request ... and I feel - well, embarrassed is a close word to the feeling but not exact -  to be asking for help on this. Fifty dollars is hefty for a DVD and waiting two years is a long time. If I can get it for $25 to $30 with someone's help now than I don't think it's too weird for me to just ask for someone's assistance. It's not like I joined here today and this was my first post.

So much for a thread even getting its own sub-title.
