Do you like the original games?

probably because people who bought the new games first probably wanted more action/combat/story in the games,
while us people who have liked Spyro longer like just finding the gems and stuff, and exploring the levels.

I kinda liked both!The first one had everyone's fav.characters...while the newer Spyro games have a bit of a movie feel.Those movie games don't that good of graphics though.I liked the old Spyro graphics because they were faster and Spyro was complete.

i have played many of the old ones and all of the new ones so far and i think they are on two different levels. the old ones were awesome but its time to move on. no-one really wants that now. WE WANT VIOLENCE! YAY VIOLENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i want that now. I mean, i dont want a new game like Spyro 3 but with just different levels, minigames and characters. But TLOS was a little extreme.

You know you weren't just asking me - if that was the case, you would have waited untill I eventually gave my answer when I felt like it. You wrote a post directed at me, and only me, for the purpose of making me look bad, and thats just childish. But nevertheless I felt obliged to answer you in the same tone, allthough I may have been more direct in my reply, but essencially it's the same.

Spyro --> For me, this is not about the spyro games itself, I know that Ratchet and I could never agree on "which one's the best games"

I intended to make Ratchet realize that he's acting like a school bully in here sometimes, when people think otherwise from him. Thats why I never really answered his actual question very deeply, because that's not what this is about.
This is about Ratchet taunting me - thinking he could get away with making me look like a fool on a public forum. I absolutely detest his way of discussing things here, because it's not a discussion - it's a oneman show for all he cares, and that's not what a forum's about. We should share our opinions in a respective manor. What I mean is, that I don't consider it disrespectfull to try and tell people otherwise when you have strait, crystal clear facts, to back up your answer. But it quickly gets personal when someone tells you you're "wrong" for no apparent reason.

I went into this argue because I wanted to change the way we discuss things here. I can't look the other way when I know that we could have it so much better here, if we just tried and changed the way we all handle things.

Pip, just because i have different opinions to you doesn't make me a bad person. I just REALLY wanted to know what was so bad bout em, and you've already stated that you like them (but not as much as TLOS).
Normally i just reply to posts and tell them my opinion, i dont tell them they are "wrong".

You might want to read your posts again.

It's quite allright that you honestly wanted to know how I felt about the old games, and if you like, I can write a little more deeply about that. But read your posts over before submitting them, it can be a big help, I normally use the preview button.
I was mad at you for writing to me like that, because I found the post very offensive, always remember that we're all from different countries and we don't think the same. I'm not saying that people should write a disclaimer everytime they post, but try to stay as neutral as possible when aswering other people - it helps to neutralize many future conflicts.

As I said, I may have been more direct in my answers, but what you said to me, and vice versa was essintially the same in terms of personal violation.

I didn't tell you to be neutral in your own opinion, I said, that it was a good idea to wear silk glowes when you reply towards others because we each have our personal opinion, and it doesn't take many wrong steps for one person violate someone elses opinion.

When i quote them and tell them what i think about there opinion, thats my opinion, Im not trying or acting in a way that shatters there opinion. I LOVE the original Spyro games! I could play them for hours, I loved the stories and I preferred Spyro's original design to the newer ones.

I still like the newer Spyro games, especially A Hero's Tail but I'll always love the old ones too.

I don't like just the original Spyro games, but all of them, except (obviously) Enter the Dragonfly. I'm enjoying the new Spyro trilogy and I can't wait to play the last Legend of Spyro part.

i agree with that mod in the first page of the post. LOS and the originals are two different series. the only thing that connects them is that they both star spyro. LOS shares neither game play elements, artistic style, nor story with the originals. It doesn't make them inherently bad, but I do like the originals more, for a lot of reasons. To say that someone who doesn't like LOS isn't a fan of spyro is just not true. We're just upset with the turn spyro took. You had ETD, which was bad, and AHT, which was so so. I don't consider either of these to be part of the original series. Then you have LOS, which isn't terrible, but its nothing like the original spyro games. If you replaced spyro with any other character, you could never tell that it was a spyro game in the first place. Again, not necessarily bad, just very, very different, and not my taste.

I agree with Depaul, yet I Do find TLOS not as good as the originals as well.
And yeah, one reason why i dont like TLOS is because it just forgets about the originals, has nothing to do with it.

I voted yes, because I do like the originals. I LOVE the originals! However, that's not necessarily saying I hate the later games. I admit, I do not own either ANB or TEN, and I have never played them. I have never played EtD, although I do own it, somewhere. I also have never owned or played AHT. However, I personally enjoy the gameplay, graphics, scenery, music, voices, and soundtrack from the original Spyro trilogy, and they are all great games. I probably will not get any of the Legend of Spyro games in the near future, because at the moment I only have access to a PS1. However, I am interested in trying them out, especially the new "Dawn of the Dragon" since it introduces free flight. I also haven't been that interested in the newer Spyro games mainly because of gameplay differences, drifting from a scavenger-hunt, charging, gliding, and puzzle game to a more combat-based game, which doesn't appeal to me as much. However, I am interested in the story of the new Spyro games, since it seems as though it's a lot more complex than the simpler plots of the earlier games, and the graphics of the new games look pretty good, too. The original Spyro and the new Spyro, in my opinion, are two different entities. They are different series of games made by different companies. It seems to me that the new Spyro still is Spyro, but just in a very different form. And although I haven't played any of the newer games, I like the style and gameplay of the older games better from what I've seen. I just like that type of game better, that's all.

I said yes. I do like the originals, but I much more prefer T.L.o.S. Not that I could play them if I wanted to. My PS2's faulty (that's the billionth time I've said that here) and won't play PS1 games or really new PS2 games either.
