It's sad, yet true.

I couldn't believe what happened. The thing that irks me though...is that people find this hilarious. Uh...a kid died, how is that funny? I can understand it's SLIGHTLY funny that he imitated Gaara, but the fact the kid died, makes it worse. Laughing at this stuff is downright heartless and cruel. He's only 10...and trust me, I've seen 10 year olds having quite a imagination at times. It wasn't his fault, it wasn't Naruto's fault. I would say his 16 year old brother should've done something, since he is the most mature. But...yeah. Rest in Peace Codey Porter.

And, this, my friends, is why parents should be watching what kids watch on TV.

Also, I find it really ironic that they emphasized that it came from anime. There's a lot of smear going on anime right now, and it really *bleep*s me off more than anything. Don't use deaths/tragedies/stupid things as a way to emphasize your own agenda.

This is sad in more than one way.

Sad in that the kid died, but also sad in that his friends thought burying him the sand was a logical thing to do. I might even go as far as questioning why would a boy at already 10 years of age would agree to be buried in the first place. And of course, where were the parents? I have to lean towards this statement someone said regarding the tragedy: "If kids can't tell the difference between cartoon and reality ten years into their lives, they have problems."
Of course this whole incident is not funny, but a lot of things were missing, from parents to common sense. Especially common sense.

Well Shrazer basically said it straight up. The kids were definitely not too young to know better. But I would hold up before saying they were Narutards. The problem stems past the tv show. The problem more or less lies in knowing the difference between cartoon and reality.

This is something my history teacher would call "tragic/funny." Don't send any hate comments now - I never said I was laughing.
Last year, a group of kids were sent to the hospital after severely injuring eachother by reenacting "World of Warcraft." A couple years before that, 2 kids were sent to juvenile for reenacting "Grand Theft Auto." A few years before that, another kid died from some other computer game (can't remember which). It seems to be a growing problem that really needs fixing.
So unfortunate for a 10 year old. Sad that no one was around to help. Also sad that his friends just kept burying him.
