Anyone hate the original games?

I was curious if there were any Spyro fans out there who like the new Spyro series - the "Legend of Spyro" series but either has never, ever played any of the other Spyro games besides the "Legend of" ones, or actually doesn't like (or even hates) the original games. I know there are those who like both, and those who hate the news series - but is there anyone who hates the old series completely, and only likes the "Legend of" games?

That's precisely why the main question of this thread was posed. It would be interesting to hear a response away from the norm of "the original is always the greatest".

I'm guessing that people who would agree with this question are those who first started playing the newer Spyro games, later played the old ones, and were ultimately unimpressed by the old series (maybe because he/she has a bias on new-gen systems vs older ones - graphics? type of gameplay? maybe he/she doesn't like platformers as much?).

If this was Sonic or Crash, I'd reply with a "Darn tootin', I hate at least one of the originals".

Unfortunately, this is Spyro. While the original Spyro is inferior to the other two, I do not hate it. Search some more for that against-the-mold person.

THe Originals were much better than any other Spyro game in my opinion, so no, i like them.
I actually made a topicon this in Spyro polls, it got a bit messy.

I would have to say I never liked spyro 1 much, 2 and 3 were OK. 3 was my favorite out of the old series.

I can't say anything cause I have only YotD from the originals. It was ok, but I'm fan of the new series these days and I get bored playing YotD, but I don't hate it.
When I was about 4 years old, we had Spyro 1 at the day care, but I can't say anything about it 'cause I didn't get further from the start. And it was so long time ago.

It may surprise you, as it surprised me, to find out there is someone who hates the old. No, they don't just like the new more...they seriously hate the old! I am glad though. We have those who hate new, love old and those who love both. Why can't we have a hate old, love new. It balances the spectrum!

But then I'd just be lying.
My friend kinda leans in that direction. He's a bigger fan of the new series than of the old. But he doesn't have much say since he's only beat Spyro 1 and a little of 2.

It shouldn't be a secret the old games are my favorites. YotD, is to me, the epitome of a Spyro game!

I think that YOTD is one the greatest platforming video games ever, behind all those marios ofcource. It is just great, there iare so many worlds, minigames, eggs, variety... ITS JUST AMAZING. The story is wonderful aswell, same with the music (but i prefered spyro 1 and 2 music)

If what ratchet is saying doesn't make any sense (lol) then just open the picture you want to use as your avatar and resize it, but be careful not to ruin the quality. Thats what I did with my avatar anyway, hope it helps. Anyway on subject, I'm not really sure I have never actually completed Spyro 1 so I don't like it (immature) but Spyro 2 and 3 are mint. I really like TLOS series too because its different to play, so I think its more fun in some areas.

I am not going to argue with you Pheonix But Spyro 1 was not "immature" as you said, though it did have some faults that were yet to be recognised seeing it was a prototype/first game. I do not know what you mean by "different to play", are you saying that you like it because it took a whole new concept in gameplay? TLOS is more fun in some areas, i meant button mahing is really a stress relief, but i found the minigames and the exploration funner.

oh, haha, it was actually a very easy game.
well taking whole new concepts in gameplay is sometimes a good thing to me, and sometimes bad.
If there is one spinoff game like a partt or a racing game, i'm fine with that. But if its a change in gameplay which lasts more than 1 game consecutavly and isn't a party/racing slash watever, its pretty... not fun change.
