In the originals, Spyro was supposed to have come from somewhere unknown. Dont know bout the new ones, no-ones even mentioned parents.

A female dragon and a male dragon whose genes made Spyro purple, male, have purple eyes, yellow appendages, red wing lining, have his personality...

In short, I have no dang idea. It is possible that he isn't related to any other character we've seen.
