Ideas for a challenge mode.
I've been thinking about this, what if TFB added a challenge mode, mainly because I want some more challenge when I actually get to play the Reignited trilogy (sometime in 2266), where the following things are changed/added.
- You only have one hit point i.e. no Sparx, however, you are able to collect gems as if you had him.
- All enemies/bosses have double hit points. I.E if there is a boss with 5 HP, in Challenge Mode it will have 10 HP.
- In the pause menu 'Exit Level' is disabled and replaced by 'Quit Game'. (This is to prevent players from exiting the level to avoid losing a life to an endless pit.)
- There are more enemies then usual.
- Moneybags will ask for more gems then usual.
- The Balloonists' requirements for getting to the next homeworld will be stricter.
- Flights/Speedways will give less time to complete them. (Unless the level only gives you enough time to beat it. In this case, the time limit will be the same.)
- All challenges in Spyro 2/3 are increased in difficulty.

Not totally sure, but I'm pretty sure it is actually still technically illegal since you need an image of the console BIOS. Would anyone care though for a 20 year old system? Most likely not.

Re: Ideas for a challenge mode.
There's a breed of gamer out there that wishes every game was like dark souls. High difficulty, unforgiving, challenging to a pulp. They like the adrenaline and satisfaction of beating something that takes a lot of effort. I appreciate that. However, Spyro should not be that kind of game, in my opinion. Spyro to me is more of a casual platformer where the challenges lay in repetition and consistency, instead of pure challenge. In the first Spyro game, a lot of people have memories of the Tree Tops and how challengingly impossible the supercharge locations felt. That's basically as hard as it should get. Any harder, and it becomes not fun for people just wanting to play casual Spyro. Spyro games are actually pretty easy, so making them hard would probably go against what we loved about the games. I don't mind a few challenges here and there, but for the most part, super hard things just wouldn't interest me.

Like the idea sounds cool.
