Found this song in a random Youtube playlist at work today. I have to say, it's been a while since I've thoroughly enjoyed a song this much. I usually find Bassnectar pretty hit or miss, but this song is fantastic

I've been listening to way too much of this stuff lately. Apparently it's called "synthwave." I found it earlier this summer and it's all I've been listening to for a while.

Been listening to Autechre for a while now. Most of their work is pretty inaccessible to first time listeners, but it's well worth taking the time to appreciate their tunes.

I know it's really long but seriously, I can't recommend listening to it enough while you're doing something else, like working or chores. I don't think I've been as moved by something as I was by this since re-finding my faith a few years back, especially once you get to the part where he starts talking about dragons

got this CD for Christmas (autographed by the band members!) i'd call it "electronic/pop/rock".

their singer deals with severe depression, and wrote a concept album about it to help bring awareness to mental illness (which i appreciate since i have depression). but it's not "gloomy". it mixes depression with hopefulness. it mixes slower, sadder music, with jumpy, upbeat dance music. overall it's just a really "artistic" and "inspired" album that i dig a lot. like i know i'm fanboying a bit haha, i don't like every single thing this band has ever done, but i am a pretty big fan.

@36: That song you posted is actually very chill, yet calm and deep, and I dig it! Not something I'd personally listen to on a daily basis, but it does sound very good big_smile

After all these years I'm still into symphonic metal, game soundtracks and "epic" music. Some of the past music I've posted I now find pretty terrible, but symphmetal and bands like Nightwish, Epica, Within Temptation, Sonata Arctica and all that have always stuck with me, and lately I've picked up some new ones like Twilight Force. This is Auri, a (likely one-off) band I picked up a year ago, consisting of 2 Nightwish members and a great vocalist, that did an album based on Patrick Rothfuss' Kingkiller Chronicles. While I have not read those books, a friend of mine tells me about them every now and then, and she's very happy with how Auri portrays some of the feelings within the story. With my limited knowledge, though, I kinda just picked up on the music and find it very calming, beautiful and strong, right up my alley. This is one of their deeper, more impactful songs.
