Heard this song again in the movie "Room". Nearly brought me to tears... I will always love post rock music.

Since there isn't really a genre...
Ambient, electronic, experimental, acoustic, atmospheric, chill, and soundscape describes this music the best.

In other words, ambient music with a catchy drum tune. Like a chill type of post rock. Kind of a deserty theme to this album too, which I find interesting.

Yeah my term "post rock" is probably pretty outdated nowadays. I just remember finding this type of music at the start of college and getting completely engrossed... smile I've lost any new sources of this type of music though, as it seems like a lot of my favorite artists have stopped releasing music (at least on Spotify). I would love to hear any artist suggestions from you since I know you were also very big into this "genre" as well.

I have noticed lots of newbie rock/instrumental garage bands slap on that label as an excuse but I hear ya. Bands like Caspian, Explosions in the Sky and Mogwai still keep the definition pretty alive.

When done right ambience and pianos can be an amazing feeling.

Recently this artist introduced me to Brombaer, and I'm glad because their music is amazing. A very talented ambient/electronic/experimental band to explore.

So, I found an old mp3 file in my ancient Galaxy 2 phone called 'Mystery Song'. I hit play... it sounded like some kind of fax machine printing pages that were tossed right into a shredder while weird static was in the background. When I reversed it and tempered with the speed, it appeared to be an old song I did with a friend! I still listen to it.
