Welcome everybody!

Sheila, Sgt. Byrd, Bentley, Agent 9, and Sparx are the only ones besides Spyro... right?

Re: Introductions

Sheila and Byrd were the ones I was initially remembering but snap, I now remember the yeti. I don't think he's from Colossus though. Is he? Agent 9 also sounds familiar now...monkey right?

Re: Introductions

I totally forgot about Hunter in the speedways. The yeti you're thinking of was probably Bentley, but the Colossus yeti... Oh yeah, wasn't there a two player cheat on that boxing minigame with the yetis? I guess that counts. tongue

And yep, Agent 9 is the monkey.

Re: Introductions

I'm not sure I ever knew about Hunter but I've always been horrible in the Speedways so gave them little attention.
When are you Sparx?

When are you Sparx?

There are top-down shooter style Sparx levels that get unlocked at one point in the game.

Re: Introductions

Hi guys! I'm David Abrodos from Barcelona and I'm a sculptor. I'm a fan of the original trilogy, especially Spyro 1 levels and their beautiful colour palettes. I've just started to mess with Spyro world viewer and spyro edit in order to know how the levels are made up. Actually when I was little, after spyro marathons, i used to dream about new levels, and my main goal would be to create some new levels for a fan game, as beautiful as the original games were. I'll post some of my designs in the fan game section!

If someone needs any artistic help in recreating the aesthetics of the first games, I'll be glad to help!

Here's an old sketch I did some years ago:

Re: Introductions

Hey, 'sup.
I'm an original trilogy enthusiast as well. I've been replaying both Ripto's Rage and Year of the Dragon since December. I've neared perfect completion in both except for the speedways which I've never been able to perform successfully which is an extreme improvement from when I first played as I have now developed more of a sense of determination. I've also explored the various glitches and secret areas in Year of the Dragon that I've seen on Youtube.
I no longer own the first game or I'd give that a replay as well.

I've only tried a couple of the legend series or just installments that came after the originals but neither captured me. I'm interested in giving Eternal Night a try though since I've read Spyro goes dark in it.

Re: Introductions

The Eternal Night is where the picture in your avatar comes from. and yeah, i used to like the Legend of Spyro games more than i do today. if you didn't like the other ones you probably won't like that game. tongue can't say for sure though of course

well it's pretty belated, but welcome to the site smile

Re: Introductions

Sweet. I got this avatar by doing a basic Google search for Spyro, that was part of what tipped me off.
The only other games I've tried are 'Enter the Dragonfly' and 'Season of Flame' which thinking about it I'm not sure are part of the legend series. My main issue with Season of Flame was that it was the GBA version and I wasn't comfortable with the smaller screen and GBA controls. I'm aware however that Eternal Night was also made for the PS2.

Re: Introductions

oh. nope. neither of those are Legend of Spyro. the games you mentioned are pretty much like the classics, just on different systems. the GBA games got really bad with that overhead view, though. yikes. sad

on the contrary the Legend games are often very linear and way more "serious" in mood. there's footage of them all over YouTube if you want to look at the gameplay a bit before you spend money on them. as i recall those games get pretty pricey for whatever reason.

Re: Introductions

I might just do that.
Spyro with a more serious mood sounds appealing to me.

Re: Introductions

Greetings fellow dragons, and LoS (Legend of Spyro) enthusiasts of all sorts!

I stumbled upon this forum while I was searching for old games that use to be on an website known as " Spyro's Lair " which
I use to enjoy playing lots on when I was younger before the site got taken down many years ago. Even to this day I'm still wandering why it was even
shut down. I found this website, hoping those old games might still linger about somewhere. I wander if there's any way I might
be able to find them 0-o

But besides from that, I might as-well introduce myself, and let you in on a little bit about me.
I'm Hosko. I usually go by this name on a-lot of websites and other forums I'm apart of. I've been a huge Spyro fan since I first played it on the Ps2 many
years back. I have a huge hobby when it comes to drawing, and 3D animating. During my times of study at college, when we were assigned
the task of creating a game, the thought of creating a Spyro inspired game immediately came to mind.
Unfortunately, I was unable to create any type of dragon model and rig it in time to make it into my game. Although I'm still hoping to create some game one day
that may bring back the good old days of Spyro, and reminds us all that childhood memories never fade away.

During most of my time, I usually am sketching on paper, or with my tablet. I've been drawing mostly dragons for as long as I can remember but
I have tried to expand my expertise to other animals. But dragons is pretty much my main focus.
This pretty much all there is to me, really. ^..^
I look forward to meeting you all and getting to know this forum better since I'm kinda of a noob right now xD

~ Hosko

During even the most darkest of times, there's always hope. Even though fear may sometimes cloud our vision, or when our strength gives out, a light peers through
the darkness. And it's those small signs that reminds us that even with the smallest amount of courage, can turn the tides of war.. ~ Ignitus

Welcome to the forum. :] Sadly I haven't seen those flash games since the site went down. They were pretty neat, I do remember.

Also, really nice profile picture!

Re: Introductions

Welcome to the forums Hosko smile I remember playing Spyro's lair. It was fun, but they could add more games, maybe some other levels than the one cave to hang out with other people, and of course allow speech, but I know why they probably did that. Anyway, I hope you post some of your work here for us to take look smile
