Actually, living as a pony (or almost any other animal) is really a hell. You live only a few years, it's extremely hot for you, especially on the summer because of your mane and hear. You also have a chance of being slaughtered and then eaten (like any other farm animal. Yes, people eat horses) the conditions while living in a farm are terrible, you'll most likely get a bad treatment and you'll only be raised for work/food. If you get the chance to live in the wild, you'll have to find yourself food, drink and shelter in order to survive, and also a few more ponies to not be alone.

TL;DR Living as an animal is a bad idea.

But their lives are so simple. They don't have to struggle with intellect like humans do. Less stuff to worry about ^^. You live and die like a happy horsie.

But don't forget about dwarf ponies. Which is why some will conclude that gen 1 ponies are more correct smile
