Only considered herethical.. because... it conflicts our view of those other church fathers. This was widely read aswell... so if the gospels isnt written by eyewitnesses and isnt preserved... then what is the truth again, belief in eternal life. Or having the secret knowledge? You see... they are not preserved well lol XD.
Either way. It was fun. But i feel this is the end of my journey : 3

Yup : 3. Because the biblical writers weren't there to witness the events. Its purely stories. Paul the Apostle was highly influencial on christian teachings like salvation and that stuff in early christianity. Which is why Mark 70 AD was made to sorta go along with Pauline views, and church fathers accepted those and saw all that conflicted their handpicked theology as herethical... its not about proof. Its just "because we say so". And thats why i find it so sad : 3

gotquestions is pretty fundamentalist. So i never go there : 3
Edit: But i read it tongue. 'cause honestly i am in deep so nothing can hurt me now anyways XD
But its interesting how he calls Gospel of Thomas forgery... which is kinda what Matthew, Mark, Luke and John is in a way since its not written by them. If that is what he means with making stuff up tongue. People in power was usually the ones calling the shots, living in rome the male strong society it developed authoritative. So yeah, aslong as it contradicts Paul the inventor of christianity then its probably not the theology they want spun out big_smile

fundamentalists honestly surprises me tongue

I went to wikipedia just to sorta make sure : 3
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gospel_of … omposition
Scholars have proposed a date as early as 40 AD or as late as 140 AD....
Theissen and Merz argue the genre of a collection of sayings was one of the earliest forms in which material about Jesus was handed down

Edit: Also... Nazareth never existed in jewish history now in jesus' life time. Josephus or other historians never noted it, josephus even mentioned the cities and places, but not this place, even from paul's authentic letters nazareth is never mentioned. There are ideas where this might've come from Essenes(Which were a jewish group during 1st and 2nd century),Sadducees(1st century jewish political movement) and nazarenes(1th century jewish sect) etc
Basically its mentioned in 300 AD somewhere.
