Okay, so I wrote a song..

I've been away for a long time, as you probably noticed. And for a comeback, I'm coming up with an untypical topic (just as any other topic here .3.)

The song is written "On Canvas of Own Experience" -- it tells the story of a man who lost the most important person in his entire life, and is trying desperately to get her back. It tells that no matter how much screwed up the situation is, you should never give up.
I'm still working on the song's name, but here are the lyrics:

[Verse 1]
Oh, my sweet darling, I am lost and all alone
Would you come down here and mend my broken bones?
I've lost my ways and abandoned any hopes
I need your guidance to find my way back home

To tell the truth, you were all I ever had
And since you were gone, all I felt was oh, so bad
Now the sky is dark, my life is all but rad
The stars have faded and I've never felt so sad

[Pre-chorus]
So if this is the end of me
And I'll never be who I thought I'll be
I will fight the sorrow in your memory --
For you, I'll survive somehow, you'll see

[Chorus]
Oh, I will fight it to the very last
And every barrier I'll turn into dust
Don't try to tell me it's impossible
And don't blame yourself for how is it horrible

(Don't blame yourself, no!)

[Verse 2]
Well, yeah, I know that I'm no one, as it seems
I'm just a simple man, and I'm living simple dreams
My soul lusts after love, that keeps tugging its silver strings
And fills all the empty spots left in my broken wings

The things that you gave me, that once healed me
You wouldn't believe, but they nearly killed me
The love that you gave me, now I can't feel it (Anymore..!)
Oh, God, if there's a way, then please reveal it!

[Pre-chorus]
So if this is the end of me
And I'll never be...
...who I thought I'll be...
I will avenge this love, in your memory
I will remain, until' it's over, you'll see...

[Chorus]
That I will fight it to the very last
And every barrier I'll turn into dust
Don't try to tell me it's impossible
...And don't blame me for how is it horrible

[Bridge]
Yes, I will do it all...
All for you -- and I will never fall... (NEVER FALL..!)

[Chorus]
Yes I will fight it to the very last
Yes, every barrier I'll turn into dust
Don't try to tell me it's impossible...
(and please...)
Never blame yourself...

...

...for how is it horrible

Never ask what I'd do for a klondike bar. No one wants to go down that road.

Re: Okay, so I wrote a song..

I've read the whole song. That was... seriously... deep. I loved it. Really. If you want this to become an actual thing, may I assist you with a 7 years skill of piano? Or drumming?

If not- still, very impressive. I would, honestly, listen to this. This is giving me motivation for some reason. But anyway- welcome back and keep writing!

Re: Okay, so I wrote a song..

Hmm... Drums make a bigger impact, and are practically a fundamental of every rock band. Though piano sounds more melodic, and can make a song really stylish...

If that's the case then I might use something more than Guitar Pro to compose this song -- make the sheets and send it over to you. We can always go along with both, it's not like we'll be playing live right away or something. Always an option to record separately and put together in a program -- I can make all the edits like control volume levels, equalize the tracks etc.

Rhythm. To do that I'd have to use something like FL Studio... might have to download buy it.

Good luck with your song! big_smile

I used to write songs when I was 11 with my friends. I still have a physical folder with all the tabs and lyrics and stuff made in MS word. I wonder what they sound like now tongue

Are you gonna sell it and become famous?

Re: Okay, so I wrote a song..

Besides - by saying 'selling it' you insult every artist's soul.
Art is created out of inspiration, using a medium to channel your feelings into a piece.

In other words, a musician's song is a part of his soul. And by suggesting 'selling it' you talk about it like a meaningless item to be tossed around from hand to hand.

Re: Okay, so I wrote a song..

Here's a few songs among the ones I know how to play. Consider that my favorite genre is classic.

Grisly Reminder
Tetris
Song of the Dragonborn
Tocatina
The Dragonborn comes

Re: Okay, so I wrote a song..

I'm pretty sure I've played The Dragonborn Comes on guitar before.

It was like

"Our hero, our hero claims a warrior's heart;
I tell you, I tell you, The Dragonborn Comes
With a voice wielding power of the ancient nord arts;
Believe, believe, The Dragonborn Comes", right?

Re: Okay, so I wrote a song..

Not bad man. With some tweaking and sound to go with it you can have a great outcome.

Might still need to learn a thing or two about composing, and would appreciate if anyone could teach me something.
