I mean aslong as its not over doing it for the giggles like GTA5, then i am ok to be honest. I mean GTA5 feels like it was not well thought out for some reason. (Not gonna comment on the gameplay though) Not that GTA games are ment to be Leonardo di caprio of games and is more about mindless fun, atleast they seem to be somewhat smart to let the action talk in terms of making that happen.

Its the prime example of over doing something that's just not good. At first i didn't want to get the game because i felt that i just didnt care for it after GTA4. But then i watched this. And yeaaah... it was just too little thought out i felt.

Some people just like to complain and they take things too seriously.

If cursing offends someone then perhaps they are too young.

The game says EXACTLY "Swearing, Voilence, etc..." People know that. And then they play it and rage over it. Faith in humanity = lost

But what is to differentiate using the word "the" a lot from using a "swear" word a lot? It's just a word. GTA 5's use of these words doesn't seem to be overdoing it for giggles, but rather a realistic interpretation of what criminals would say. I'm 99% sure me and my friends swear more than the guys in that game, not because it's funny, but because it's a part of our vocabulary. Is that a bad thing? These are words; and words that don't have any kind of offensive undertones apart from that they're "bad." Why lock these words off from our vocabulary? This reminds me of a book we had to read in middle school called "The Giver," in which words like "love" or "like" were banned because they generalized too much, you had to use words like "enjoy" instead. This is clearly not a good idea, as these words still have a use; maybe other words can possibly convey your thoughts more effectively, but the entire point of language is not conveyance, convenience is also a part of it.

i... i just can't bring myself to care about this subject enough to type out a response. besides, it's not even my opinion you're replying to. i'll just point out that i have a very hard time taking thoughts with swears in them seriously. regardless of their objective and literal meanings, words have cultural connotations.

Well maybe some people were born in a family with morals that taught them that cursing is bad, like me. I'm 18 and I never actually use swear words and I don't like when other people do. Those types of words are never needed to be said and can be replaced with something less severe in every case. In the case of media(videogames), it doesn't bother me quite as much and if used right can add some humor to the game. And I agree that if cursing offends you, don't play the game. It's a choice to play the game so complaining about it isn't right.
