No I don't want you to do my homework. I need some help in a sort of hacking, to get around lightspeed.
No I don't want to look at foul pictures during school.
I know there's a way but I can't find it cuz guess what?
Those sites are blocked. o_O

Even my teachers want a way to get around it because it's blocking a lot of useful sites for stupid reasons. So it's not like I'm doing a terribly bad thing in trying to find a way past it.

Hmm...

Well, the easiest way would be to use an online proxy.

My friend set up a proxy www.secretsurf.org that shouldn't be blocked because it isn't really well known.

You type in the address of the site you want to go to in there and the secret surf server grabs the page and returns it to you, and the filter won't be able to recognize it because it isn't technically coming from the original site.

well the way we got around the blocking of google images, is that we would type the address www.google.com/image and then go to advanced image search, so maybe you should see if that a certain page on here isn't blocked, but maybe just the homepage is.

you could always try
https://vtunnel.com

You have to do the https:// part. Its different from other websites, but it works. My school has Youtube Blocked and i use Vtunnel to get to it.

VTunnel = proxy, but most schools block well known proxys. secretsurf hasn't been advertised.

I had this same problem back when I was elementary, but I didn't remember the proxy site I used.

That's the most simple and most famous thing to get past blocks -- using proxy sites.

I was about to help when SR beat me to it -_- goes to show that I really have to go SF more often.

Another trick would be to use google translator as a proxy, because it is rarely blocked.

Just translate the website you want to access from spanish to english and it shouldn't screw it up very much at all.

Or another trick,

Sometimes they only block the domain name, but the IP address is still available., but this doesn't work well for websites on shared hosting because they share a single ip address.

Google proxy sites at your school and just access/try them via the google page.

It maybe that Lightspeed can chack the meta tags used by search engines to see which sites match your specification. If so then proxies that Google can find will not work. Having site blockers do this would be more effecive than having them set to block only certain sites, so I would not be surprised if Lightspeed does.

I know there was away people where getting passed the site blocker at my school even after it began blocking every proxy Google could find but I do not know how they where doing it (and it was not Google translator, it was ineffective as the site blocker here could search for certain parts of URLs from the sites it blocked to keep you from using a slightly diffrent URL to bypass it).

Our school is so annoying that all the computers face the librarian's desk and they are high so you cant block em with your head >_<
