Is Scotland its own country, or is it a part of United Kingdom?
Basically i was playing a geography test. To see what countries i could click on (Hinted with capitals) to fresh up my memory on European countries and capitals. Basically Scotland was on the list of countries. Which confused me since i just assume Scotland is a part of United Kingdom, and not its own country? "Same with Wales aswell"
Just wondering what you guys think?

It is both a country and is a part of the UK.
Scotland is its own country, as is England, Northern Ireland and Wales (The Republic of Ireland is another country but is not part of the UK). The United Kingdom is just a "collection of different countries" in a sense, or a "country of countries".
Basically, just watch this video and everything will become clear (maybe).

Actually, that video might confuse everyone even more ![]()

It's a country and a part of the United Kingdom, I would love to go to Scotland, England, and Ireland.
I have changed my username from Justin Long Fanatic to EricChristianOlsenFanatic, so Justin Long Fanatic is my old name on this site, and EricChristianOlsenFanatic is my new one.

So Scotland, Ireland, England, etc. are sub-countries within the country called the UK?
I figured it out!

I see. Well i guess that makes sense. Its kinda like being owned by UK. Same with countries who are owned by EU to say the least.
