Yooka-Laylee

Some of you may already know of this, but Yooka-Laylee is an upcoming 2016 game that is being developed by ex-members of Rare who also did Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong 64. It's basically a successor of Banjo-Kazooie, with the title characters Yooka the Chameleon and Laylee the Bat.

http://www.playtonicgames.com/games/yooka-laylee/

They're currently having a Kickstarter that ends in June that has rewards for backers who held fund the game -

Re: Yooka-Laylee

Never got to play Banjo as a kid, but I'm definitely excited to see a new platformer coming out made by the pros.

I saw a gameplay clip of it. Plan to get it if it gets out on WiiU.

Re: Yooka-Laylee

It does come out on the Wii U, and Xbox One and PS4 and PC. Getting a digital copy is also one of the backers rewards for those who fund the game on its Kickstarter.

Re: Yooka-Laylee

What Aura said.

I don't know much bout Banjo- Kazooie but I do like them. Donkey Kong 64 is one of my favourite games. So I'm looking forward to this game.

Yooka and Laylee are awesome already fond of them.

Re: Yooka-Laylee

I can see this game being a lot of fun and since (According to google) its using the Unity engine, opens the doors to people to make more content for the game even after completing it. This should be interesting.

Revealed NPC characters~

Trowzers

trowza-1024x1024.png

"Trowzer is a business-snake whose career never took off. Not that he knows it – the smug, serpent salesman thinks he’s the bee’s knees (not that he has knees), and for a little dosh he’ll teach you some of the slick moves he picked up on the high-stakes sales floor."

Ghost Writers

ghosts-1024x466.jpg

"In their physical days these articulate phantoms were the scribes behind Yooka-Laylee’s mysterious book worlds. However, following their suspicious demise the Ghost Writers’ unsettled souls are now cursed to endlessly wander their creations in search of spectre salvation. Free their spirits for a special reward…

“The Ghost Writers haunting the book worlds will add a fun twist to collecting.  There are a variety of different types hidden in every world, each with their own unique requirement for being caught.

“Mix that with the different areas in which you’ll find them, and hopefully they’ll result in a fresh challenge with every encounter. They’re like a living (un-living?) collectible.”

Re: Yooka-Laylee

I'm excited for this not because I ever played Banjo Kazzoie but because I'm getting so sick of 2D platformers. I miss the 3D ones sad

Re: Yooka-Laylee

Yes. People think of "platformer" and "2D" as synonymous these days, it seems. I would totally back this, but it looks like they've already raised way more than enough. tongue

Re: Yooka-Laylee

I like how Yooka and Laylee have things that set them apart.

Yooka csn use a spin attack, and her tongue to reach things.

Laylee has a supersonic scream and he can fly Yooka across gaps.

Is Yooka the green or the purple/blue one.

Re: Yooka-Laylee

Thanks for confirming that I was confused about it for a while.

But yeah they, have things that set them apart, Yooka has a spin attack, and can use his tongue to reach things. And Laylee can use a supersonic scream and fly Yooka across gaps.

Re: Yooka-Laylee

It'll be a blast looks great already. I wonder who the main antagonist will be? Maybe an evil tiger? A bad sorcerer? Or evil Enchantress? Guess we'll find out.
