Rating System

I honestly didn't know this game is one of the main reason game rating system now exists, in terms of games.

Edit: Although i do notice that rating system have become somewhat different with times too. Like Ocarina of Time when it first came out it was for everyone on N64 system. While now its.... 12+.

Eh, time's change. that night trap game was controversial at the time, but it's no big deal now.

In terms of game ratings, though I still believe that they a have a place. I think that parents should be aware of the games the're buying for their children. Unfortunately, it seems like people nowadays are starting to care less

Re: Rating System

I agree Paranoia. And the fact that behavior problems in my opinion are the results of people on the internet. Not meaning users generally, but public places like youtube and the content and behavior that makes it ok in general. Social media just seems to give an idea that people don't care much what happens more, it just happens.

Re: Rating System

That Ocarina of Time example is actually pretty bad, because those are two different rating systems.

Re: Rating System

The thing is Ocarina of Time when it was released had a rating system that was for everyone, while the new ocarina of time (Which btw looks less scary due to the graphics having a more candy eye look to it) have 12+ rating. So its basically the same game, only with better graphics, so i think its a pretty good example though in my opinion.

Yes, but the two different rating systems have different standards for what is to be for what ages.
The ESRB rating for Ocarina of Time on N64 was E, and its 3DS version was E 10+, however, E 10+ ratings came into circulation much later than the initial 5 ESRB ratings, so we don't really know whether or not Ocarina of Time's rating would've been E or E 10+, but I can assume it would've been E 10+, because people's views of video games were much more closed minded when it came to inappropriate content back then.

Re: Rating System

It might be the outcome of the new generation. Like video games back then were just a hobby, and now its considered more trendy. Well... i think its the fact that guts was more a thing i feel. But yeah, i will say that i think people are more aware of game contents in games. I for example got creeped out by the hand and the shouting undead things walking by in a pool of green water.

Its just a shame that Zelda games now have stopped being medieval after Ocarina of Time.. well Twilight Princess kinda works somewhat, but just the atmosphere in general i feel was just so good back then!
