um, you do what i did, i guess, which is have an angsty adolescence where you develop an obsessive interest in extreme metal over the course of about 7 years, then after you've been listening to people with questionable ideologies screaming their heads off for awhile, do the next logical thing and start researching various spirituality and philosophy subjects. there's no way this can go wrong. after you're certain you know everything and can't possibly be wrong, slowly make your way into conspiracy theories. once you start realizing you didn't know everything and in fact you don't now either, undergo a period of a few months where you basically try to undo that whole period of time (all 7 years, it's a clearance sale, man, almost everything's gotta go, find new music, forget basically all of the philosophy stuff, forget literally everything you read about aliens, etc), all the while occasionally watching Fluttershy videos. you have to watch Fluttershy videos, this is crucial. after all that's out of your system, watch that episode where Fluttershy takes care of that phoenix, and you're a brony!

report back in 9 years, and we'll start talking about what merchandise to buy.

edit: for experienced professionals only. do not try at home. a safer method would be, for example, sitting down and watching the show.
