Drivers license
So after failing 6 times I finally got my drivers license. Tbh I thought I would never get it. I was beginning to feel like spongebob (cus he never got his boating license) it was frustrating to see everyone around me get theirs and even my best friend got hers on her second try the same day I went and failed for the 6th time. I kept failing the parallel parking but I've practice so many times now that I'm a pro at it. Too bad I'm never gonna parallel park again, I'm forever traumatized.
Also I got my permit when I was 16 so I could've gotten my license LAST YEAR

Re: Drivers license
i haven't failed a driving test because i haven't taken any
congrats on getting yours though!
you have to parallel park on my street, and i'm also dreading that. people who have been driving for years around here can't seem to quite get it down.

Re: Drivers license
I thought I would never parallel park again, but now it comes in quite handy that I live in an area where everyone parks on the street, so you never know.
Congrats on passing! Be confident but cautious, and most importantly try to stay focused and not get distracted when you're on the road.

Re: Drivers license
If you drive expecting everyone to cut you off, everyone to pull stupid maneuvers, and you still decide to follow the law then you will be fine.

Re: Drivers license
I failed once, but after the first time I didn't take it again until I was 19. Honestly I think the examiner must have felt bad for me and let me off easy because I was so nervous. I know I made a lot of mistakes. Pretty sure I didn't even parallel park right if I'm remembering the right test, and that should've been an automatic fail.
Congrats on getting it though!
Doesn't matter how many times you failed as long as you eventually passed.

Guess so, haha. I'm pretty sure most people fail theirs at least once.

I think the only real problem I had was running stop signs during the lessons. I don't know why, I guess that's just been the one thing that claws me every once in a while. I still remember, a while back I was driving my friend and his brother to a gun range and I was on a side road approaching a stop sign to a large main road going crossway. I don't know how I didn't see it, but I just drove up into the main road and almost hit the side of a passing car (going from my right to left) but my reflexes fixed the direction and was able to go behind the car. Aye. It was tough because the road I came from was lower so driving up onto the main road was like a short hill, like a soft ramp, so I had less traction because the surface was leveling out ... physics, never mind.
Shh, I just woke up.

Surprisingly, I did. I'm not so sure I should've passed though. I think they may have just felt sorry for me as well Stormy. I was extremely nervous, and I know the instructor could tell. It's not like I ever use my license though... Haha. ![]()

Re: Drivers license
I failed the written driving test 2 times, and hate that test but I will get my permit soon. Plus my dad told me it's okay because people have failed it like 5 or 10 times. And it sucks that it's not easy.

Re: Drivers license
I failed mine the first time. I took the test an hour away from where I lived growing up, and the city I took the test in is the one Stormy and I moved to 2 years ago, so it's weird driving through the intersection I failed on all the time now.

Re: Drivers license
Everyone my age acts like they need their license to live or something. Who cares?
Either way, I am a bit late on getting mine. I plan on getting it soon, but I can't afford a car due to the lack of a Job.

Re: Drivers license
Ah, the old "can't get a car without a job, can't get a job without a car" problem. That's what happened to me, at least. Ended up getting a job first, and my parents drove me there every day. ![]()

Re: Drivers license
got into car, wanted to *bleep* my pants
half the times i turned i went too wide and into the incorrect lane
every time i stopped at a stop sign i gave the guy whiplash
guy was helping me with the steering wheel and using the passenger side brakes the vast majority of the time
if he weren't i would have went offroad several times
i remember once in second grade i aspired to be a racecar driver
I'm not sorry if I offended you.

Re: Drivers license
Driving is not that bad dude. ...wait, you're in California. Actually driving might be pretty bad there depending on the population density of where you're at

Re: Drivers license
I drive currently, but it took me awhile to want to get my license, mainly because I was scared of a lot of things like bad drivers, police officers, and getting into accidents. Since getting my license though, I love driving and definitely feel independent doing so, I don't have to rely on my folks to drive me places, that being sad it's understandable to be somewhat fearful too.
I have changed my username from Justin Long Fanatic to EricChristianOlsenFanatic, so Justin Long Fanatic is my old name on this site, and EricChristianOlsenFanatic is my new one.

Re: Drivers license
I'm a pretty good driver, I've banned my mother from riding with me because if I take a hand off the steering wheel for one millisecond she freaks and thinks World War III is about to happen

Re: Drivers license
I failed it 3 times cause the test has some stupid questions that have nothing do with driving.

Like what? I can't think of any questions that would be on the test that wouldn't involve driving.
