Need Help! PS2 Not Working!
Hello,
I really need your help everyone, my Play Station 2 is not working the disk won't spin and it wont read the disk.
Yesterday when I went to play Spyro: Year of The Dragon it wouldn't read the disk however, it's not the games fault it's the console.
what should I do?

Re: Need Help! PS2 Not Working!
Hmm... I think I had a similar problem once. Does this happen only with Spyro: YotD or with all your games? What type of PS2 is it? For most of the cases I can find, it's a PS2 Slim, which is the version I have.
For me, dust was the problem, but I found a few other possible causes on google, one being that the reading laser is slightly out of place, and another that a button that usually is activated by closing the lid isn't as sensitive and requires more pressure.

This is the point where I grab the screwdriver and my console prying tool, fixed my PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, PS3 and an Xbox one. (xb360 being the *Insert rude word* to open)

Re: Need Help! PS2 Not Working!
This might sound like a silly idea, but try turning the console upside down, and start it with the disc inside it. Or upside down in a tilting position, using a edge to support it.

Yeah, actually, I've tried propping my PS2 up on its side before, and I remember it kind of working for that "disk read error" problem. Never tried putting it upside down, though.

When I was younger, I found that physical abuse would work wonders.

If lid sensors are the problem, then the Tape and Tissue mod will help you. I used it in my PS2.
But you will need to open up your machine.
Never ask what I'd do for a klondike bar. No one wants to go down that road.

Re: Need Help! PS2 Not Working!
I'll try anything just to get it to work! I'll try putting it upside down, I'll also ask my Dad if he can help with my PS2 Problem. And my PS2 is the Slim.

Then you are screwed. My first PS2 was a PS2 Slim. Which couldn't read any disk, I couldn't figure out the problem. With the PS2 original though, that one i managed to fix.
I haven't tried this video. But that sounds like the most legit problem with PS2 Slim reading error. Maybe it will help you.

Re: Need Help! PS2 Not Working!
Why don't you destroy it for fun since it's broken and get you a PS1 or another PS2?
I like playing video games, Half Life and the Spyro games for PS1 are my favorite games, and I WANT HALF LIFE 3!!!!!
