It doesn't really feel like Thanksgiving

Well, turns out we aren't having turkey, rather ham. Why ham you ask? It's cause apparently turkeys were 50 dollars. Oh well. At least we still get pumpkin pie, that's probably my favorite food item of thanksgiving anyway.

Re: It doesn't really feel like Thanksgiving

Speaking of thanksgiving, they had a Skylanders float for the Thanksgiving day parade... So what character would you have assumed got turned into a flying float? ERUPTOR! Yep. It's not like Skylanders was based off of any particular character's franchise at all!

I'm outraged about this. I think we all would've preferred a Spyro float. I would not care if it had a the Skylanders redesign but it would be great to show how far the character has came. It would have made everyone at Insomniac happy, every Spyro fan happy and would've been the biggest public appearance of Spyro yet. But no... All that down the toilet for the stupid volcano character who doesn't even fly.

oh, wow. turkeys really cost that much? that's insane.

eh, Thanksgiving is always more about the experience itself than the food to me, we could have been eating anything, as long as we did the usual Thanksgiving stuff.

Wow, that's crazy expensive. hmm I don't think they cost that much around here, but I've never tried to buy one, so who knows.

I like turkey, but I'd be okay with not having it on Thanksgiving. Usually there will be both ham and turkey at my family gatherings anyway.

Oh definitely. I do miss those days though. Nowadays my family pretty much keep to themselves, but hey, a holiday's a holiday. When i start my own family i can relive those days in a different way. oh well. I still have the holiday cheer though! smile

I do agree. However, I love Thanksgiving food a lot, so I would be sad without it!

Yeah i think it wouldn't be the same without the food. It'd still be thanksgiving, but taken down a notch i guess.

I honestly like ham a bit better than turkey tbh. Though turkey's a Thanksgiving classic so I could see how you'd be disappointed.

I like ham for the flavor, but i like turkey for the warm fuzzy feeling it gives you after you finish your plate. smile

Re: It doesn't really feel like Thanksgiving

I had a surprisingly great Thanksgiving. I had dinner with my mother and father, and it was a nice simple day. No big events, just eating with my family and it was all I needed.

Re: It doesn't really feel like Thanksgiving

Spent today with a family, two married couples, and my family. So 11 people total.

I think we got our turkey for free. The ham though, oh boy I love ham. The ham is what I went to first when getting food. X|

Re: It doesn't really feel like Thanksgiving

I just listened to one of the most beautiful hymns on TV. It plays 24 hours straight til Sunday.
I've never celebrated thanksgiving, but even if it didn't go so well i still wish you a good day and hope it will go better next year. But think positive about it, atleast its soon christmas with lots of good food and family and friends ^^
