Still lacking in a lot of detail but its not the Iphones graphics, its the Game developers time and effort put in to make the game efficient with what it runs on.

how does the platform make the playing experience any better? for either side?

I agree with 36. The game itself is where the fun comes from, not the graphical quality of the system. I never understood the need for good graphics. If my game has them that's a bonus and I won't complain, but I wouldn't choose one game/console over another just because of its graphics.

^This. I agree with this so much.

I feel like good graphics is what people go for anymore, and companies know that, so they focus on graphics and the quality of the game's actual gameplay suffers. Well, there are exceptions, but it does happen.

In this day and age, that's hardly a question. There's so much competition between platforms, they find them themselves just so they can show you that they're better. Exclusives, certain graphical technologies, and such. I prefer PC over any console for several reasons. One being that games can be super cheap. I just got Insurgency, a game I've been playing and enjoying a lot lately, four copies for 25 cents each. Doesn't really get much better than that. Another being that PCs are very customizable. And, finally, they have this feature nobody really uses where you can browse the internet. Something consoles haven't been able to do very well, ever.

On the topic of what this thread was made about, though, the framerate of that asphalt game looks awful. Appears to be 20 fps or so. Not just the gif, either.

I am not just into gameplay, I want at least some games to show what current technologies are like and how they evolve. Its all good having the same gameplay but I want a game that does not look like squared edged together and with technologies evolving, it immerses people who are new to gaming or even people who have played games for ages to feel more for the games atmosphere and the story behind the game.
